This is an excellent course - my partner took the 10 day plastering course and has learnt such a great skill. The course is well organised, great value for money with wonderful teaching. I would recommend Silver Trowel 110% and we will be booking in for more courses. Thank you very much Colin.

Colin Teagle & Chris Hanlon, who are the instructors at Silver Trowel have a massive knowledge base, and there really was no question they couldn't answer with their years of experience and business savvy. They were also accommodating of my University commitments or if I needed to pause training to go on practical work experiences.

A big thank you to all at Silver Trowel none of this would of been possible without you guys

I think the course is great.......it focuses on how it can cater for your needs as in = I needed to block door ways, re-build a garden wall and build a barbie of which I learnt all 3 in just 5 days. Brilliant the cost is fair and the equipment is everything you need and more.
Will say though the web-site doesn't do them justice as it needs to show more of what you can create and state in what space of time you CAN create this !!
I will be promoting this company to my friends as I believe everyone who does this will be amazed of what they can gain.

Can't get a better detailed explaination on how to plaster. Teacher are great really helpful and understanding. Would recommend to anyone who what's learn plastering.

I took a 2 day Bricklaying course with Silver Trowel. In just 2 days I'd learnt trowel skills and laid several courses of brick. I would definitely recommend Silver Trowel. Whether you've been in the trade for years or never had a go Silver Trowel pitch the teaching to each persons level.

I took up the 5 week city and guilds plastering course with the intentions of going into the plastering trade, silver trowel delivered a very intensive and knowledge packed course giving me more skills then i expected. I would highly recommend this course if you want to run your own business,using all the skills i now have, i now own my own business which growing every day. Thank you silver trowel.

They teach you about the products and tools with a very in depth talk while doing a demo so you learn how to mix and apply the products, they really do cover everything to do with plastering. They also sell all the tools you need for plastering I ended up buying the whole kit as it would safe me time and money great prices and high quality tools. Price for the course is very reasonable for what you learn in 4 weeks and the guys are very friendly made me feel at home from the first day and any questions I had they were able to answer them. Highly recommend silver trowel ltd other courses also available, i'll be going back for sure.

I was a bit nervous before arriving on the first day, would I be the useless female who was always last to finish and was the worst at the job and surrounded by a possy of builders bums.
None of the above!
I did the one week course so I could work on our 15th C house in France.
From the first call Colin was really friendly, helpful and encouraging.
There were three of us on the 1 week course and Colin adapted what we did to suit our individual needs, I need to use lime on our house and so spent more time than the others plastering with lime.
I had a great week, the atmosphere was good and Colin and Chris were good teachers and complimented each other well.
The standards i achieved exceeded my expectations and I am now busy plastering my house. The added advantage of doing it yourself is you can do it exactly as you want.

Silver Trowel is a DIY Training Centre. We can learn plastering and bricklaying works there. There are highly trained and very helpful instructors. It is a spacious centre and has got sufficient tools to use during our training. It is a very useful course for every household owner.

Really enjoyed my time on the weekend plastering course over the 4 days (two weekends).

Good down to earth teachers and a good group of other people who were all learning for their own reasons.

I'm looking to come back and so some further training. Well worth the money.

I recently completed my 5 weeks City & Guild certificate with Silvertrowel and I have to say, from start to finish - the whole experience was way way better than I originally expected.

Colin and Chris (the dynamic duo) are the business. In true professional style they covered every module thoroughly, with a lot of patience and full support!

From the unlimited free Tea (a lifesaver) to helping with mixing, cleaning, , lifting, shovelling etc etc... Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to ensure that I understood what I was doing and why I was doing it - helping to make this a fun 5 weeks as well as learning so much, including the RIGHT way to do it.

For a down to earth, stress free learning experience - I would have no hesitation to recommend these guys. Hell I had so much fun, I was tempted to re do the whole 5 weeks!

This was my first experience of bricklaying and a complete contrast to the desk job that I had been doing for the previous thirty years. I had no idea what to expect when I arrived at Silver Trowel but was immediately put at ease and introduced to the other students. My instructor was brilliant and gave me so much encouragement, he was also very patient which helped me and to settle very quickly. By the second day I had built my first single brick right angles wall with column and was very pleased with it. During my third and fourth days I built a nine inch double skin wall with over hang feature and it looked very professional, I was very pleased with the skills I had mastered and the work that I had achieved in just four days at Silver Trowel. I can highly recommend Silver Trowel and would not hesitate to use them again if I decide to follow up with the plastering course.
