Spam calls.

Since receiving the ESim I have been getting countless spam calls every day. I have blocked over 50 calls wince getting the Sim. When in Japan the calls would come through all night. I contacted support and they were not able to offer much and suggested my number might have been compromised because of my online activity. I didn't even get a chance to go online before the spam calls started. Other than that the Sim worked. Speeds were ok.

I had service for about 20 minutes outside of the US but then lost it completely even though I was till in cities like San Felipe and such

Outstanding customer support

Incredibly easy to purchase and setup, with clear usage terms and conditions.

I had an issue where one of my two Sims stopped working when overseas.

Support was RAPID. Everything was fixed and I had a new SIM issued in under 2 hours. Very impressed, would use SIM Local in a heartbeat for future travels.

Didn't work on iPad

Whilst it worked fine on my phone, I couldn't get it to work on my iPad despite trying various options. And there was no way of cancelling the order. So I wasted money.
**UPDATE** - Having read my review, they came back to me and offered me a full refund and a 10% discount for my next sim. Have to say I'm very impressed, a great service.

Seamless Service

Don’t advertise and unlimited data plan and then cap it at 10gb per day. Felt like a bait and switch and I would have purchased something else

I’m very sorry to hear that this caused frustration during your trip, and I completely understand how the daily limit may have felt unexpected, especially if you were relying on continuous high data usage.

Just to clarify in detail, the plan you purchased is advertised as unlimited data, however it operates under a fair usage policy, which includes a 10GB daily high-speed allowance. After this limit is reached within a 24-hour period, speeds may be reduced until the next day, at which point the full high-speed allowance resets again.

This structure is quite standard across many “unlimited” plans and is designed to ensure stable and fair network performance for all users. The 10GB daily allowance is also considered one of the more generous limits available on the market.

We would also like to reassure you that this information is clearly stated in the plan description at the time of purchase, rather than being hidden in separate terms, so customers can make an informed decision before buying. Additionally, as part of our previous interaction, this was explained to you by our support team to help clarify how the plan works.

That said, we are genuinely sorry if this did not meet your expectations or caused any disruption to your travel experience, that is never our intention.

We truly value your feedback, as it helps us continue improving how we communicate plan details and set clearer expectations for our customers.

Everything worked okay until I…

Everything worked okay until I encountered a problem in Cape Town. The customer service team tried everything they could to get me back online. It transpired the problem was with the weather and telephone signal, which improved later in the evening.

Very helpful and efficient

Very helpful and efficient! And when I was about to leave London Sim Local helped me by removing their SIM card and replacing it with my U.S. SIM card. That was quite a relief because I did it once on my own on a previous trip and it was quite difficult.

Customer Experience that exceeded our Expectations

We originally purchased 4 individual plans for our 2 week visit in Vietnam. Service was good and met our needs. We reached the end of the time in Vietnam and was heading to Singapore for 4 days/nights on the way home. Our request to transfer our existing plans that all had significant credit left to use in Singapore was met with an extremely helpful and understanding response and the outcome produced met our needs entirely. Great customer service which we will happily talk about and recommend in the future.
