We joined after Energie closed, the staff were welcoming and informative.
The 6.30am spin classes are good. However there was more class variation through the week starting at 6.15am.
It would be great to see other early morning classes available rather than spin or hyrox at 5.30am.

My last gym closed suddenly and I'd been very attached to it. So after visiting a few gyms in the area I joined Simply Gym who were miles ahead with easy friendly service, very knowledgeable on the gym and processes, great tour and always ready to be helpful. It's well equipped and clean and even at peak time there's a bit of room. There's a a seperate class studio and ladies area and the parking is decent.
I was purely sold on the relaxed and friendly atmosphere and feel right at home already!

Excellent classes, simply gym can use a better and more lively colour instead of black and grey colours.
Very friendly staff,
Cleanliness is a top notch

The gym equipment and dumbbells are very good.
Its hard to get any support from staff members as their office is outside of the gym.
The showers and toilets are very poor and not very clean

Mental health my F arse. As a sufferer of mental health, it's taken me a few days to settle my mind to write this and many shots of tequila. People just don't truly understand the anguish people go through and having to deal with such companies complete disregard whilst spinning yarns of mental health, just because they don't see it.
So, I joined SG near me, it was on offer and even though the price went up during my two years, I carried on using the facilities as it was all about my state of mind and exercise AND also being social somewhat would help, and it did. Due to how my mind was I could only go at night, being quieter and less people. So, this was going well and I was only working part time, but this was money well spent from that. I had to cancel membership for a few months due to finances but came back soon as I could afford it (price was higher now).
Btw, cancelling is not a straight forward process. The TV shows cliche of people finding it difficult to do so, still stands true somewhat, you feel trapped.
Anyway, I was back and there was signage of a new car parking registration system using ANPR will be starting soon, due to carpark misuse. I had no issue, I was a member. This is where I fecked up, I didn't sign up in or something. I thought perhaps being a member it's automatic, but the onus was on me.
I was now sent a parking notice and a fine was due!
I then spoke to a staff member, shown them the letter, they seen that I was a member on their database and at that point added me on the database but in regards to the letter/fine I was told they can't do anything!
I was told to contact the the parking company (contracted out) tell them of the situation and resolve it myself (I wasn't told harshly, the staff are nice) BUT the fact that the company has NO control here, on behalf of their member but have enough control to hire the services, I felt competed fobbed off and deflated.
Honestly how my mind was, so much procrastination later, I sent an email to the company (not easy, by design). several days went by, no reply. Sent another, same and did so four times.
I then received another letter that my fine was now due and could be court issue. Honestly, it fecked up my mind, started to have sleep issues. At this time, stopped going to the gym too, my membership continued and felt like in some kind of loop my mind was in, struggling.
Weeks later, daily knowing the situation but could not face seeking help, I go back to the gym to ask once again, with the new letter that I need their help.
Other than a "aww and some empathy" I got nothing, no advice other than to contact the parking enforcement company. I then emailed Simply Gym HQ or whoever runs this operation with a reply saying, they cannot do anything that such matters have to be dealt the branch of gym I go to. So essentially, centrally they'll take your money but any other way you're on your own.
On a drunken night, sheer anger, finally I cancelled my direct debit, easier than trying via SG "cancel procedure".
If you know mental health, you now how dark it can get, this parking issue was a dark chapter now brewing but also having some principles that I'm not paying a fine of £70+ that I shouldn't need to. At that time now, had no employment so it was a lot.
Over the next year and half, I'd get the occasional letter about the outstanding charge and I'd leave it, stuck in my loop, it effected me every time those letters came.
So, a letter came, the envelope looked different, it was now a civil enforcement matter with possible court proceedings, with costs now totaling £270+
My principle still stood but the fright of this plus having a black mark on my finances, didn't help my mental state at all. I was now working again, but time being so hard, 2026 being extra hard with fuel and more. I had no choice but to pay. I could not take the risk or the know how to plead not guilty and/or submit evidence etc.
I know going to my local SG branch was a complete waste of time too.
So here we are, I took the hit. For me, what I had to go through was.....perhaps not compared to others in their lives but this was my journey and type this weeks after paying, as I neck down my last tequila of the night.
Since then, I've told many people of my experience, considering where I work facing hundreds of people daily, I've dissuaded many to reconsider and go elsewhere.

Friendly gym, great facilities, great PT, and never so busy that you are unable to use equipment.

Been with simply for two weeks now since leaving another gym not so far away. The equipment in this gym is fantastic. they have a lot of different types of resistance machinery and we rarely struggle to get on the equipment we want too. Other users seem friendly.
The place is spotless, i have witnessed a cleaner at around 5:30 each morning and she does a fantastic job. this never happened at my last place and considering it was new it was beginning to look worn and tatty and the staff didn’t seem to care to hoots about keeping it clean or keeping the equipment labelled. I will stay here and would recommend it to a friend
There is cleaning stations and alcohol gel every 3 meters or so which is very helpful and there is a strong “put your weights back on the rack” culture which seems to be adhered to by the majority

Visited today and asked a member of staff (young blonde lady) where the changing rooms were as I had not visited before and was testing a few before moving gyms. She offered to show me round the whole gym and answered my questions around peak times. Was a lovely first impression and appreciated the warm welcome. Will be looking to join in the next couple of days
