Questionable Sales Approach

I tried Skin Laundry for their introductory $50 facial—honestly, it was fine, but nothing special or worth going out of your way for.

What really disappointed me was the lack of transparency around their membership. I was encouraged to sign up for a monthly subscription at a reduced rate, but no one clearly explained that it required a 4-month commitment or that the price would increase after the first month. When I noticed the charge and called to cancel, I was told I couldn’t—which felt incredibly misleading.

The staff were pleasant enough, but not knowledgeable. Both front desk employees openly shared that they were brand new and weren’t able to answer basic questions. During checkout, they were distracted—talking to each other and other customers—so there was no real opportunity to get clarity on what I was signing up for.

Overall, this felt like subpar service for an average treatment wrapped in a very questionable sales approach. I would strongly recommend reading the fine print and asking very direct questions before agreeing to anything here. Be careful.

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with Skin Laundry, mainly due to their membership policies and cancellation process.

I signed up expecting a straightforward skincare service, but it operates more like a pyramid scheme with a minimum commitment and automatic renewals.

Facials are supposed to be "unlimited" with your membership however you are only allowed to go every 10-14 days and they last a mere 15 minutes. I've seen ZERO CHANGE in my skin after 3 months (even though their "progress photos" will try to tell you otherwise...umm..hello retouching?)

I would strongly encourage anyone considering signing up to fully understand the contract terms, especially around billing, minimum commitments, and cancellation requirements.

Overall, this experience felt more focused on enforcing the contract than on customer care. DO NOT get sucked into this.

Bait and Switch Tactics

I went in to the Victoria Gardens Rancho Cucamonga location in January 2026 based on a Facebook ad. I got there everything was just okay. I asked for a sample and the young barely gave me any product that was a sign! Then the young lady told me about the membership. She said you can get two services per month and I said ok. Then I asked for copies of the documents I signed and I received a receipt emailed to me.. that was the second sign to NOT do business with Skin Laundry! When I added it when I got home, you're paying over $1000 for only two hours of services in a 4 month period. I was unable to receive services in February, however, when I called on March 1st to make an appointment, I was told the services don't rollover. So they got $250 and I got nothing!

First Hand Experience

Organization : easily 35 minutes past schedule without any communication to me
Staff : I was never told that one of the staff was a HCP for legal reasons and adherence to laws
Equipment : used one laser on my initial visit while aggressively pushing the stronger laser … so awkward !
I could hear the aggressive sales pitch to others as I waited so when it came to me , same pitch … knew the whole story … not unique to me bc heard it 3 X in previous 30 minutes
New location : heard opening in Woodlands … beware ! … the laws of the state will catch up with this game

I went there for 6 months

I went there for 6 months. No one told me that my 4 months were up (and they are supposed to tell the client). I had no results at all. I was told during consultation that my dark spots would go away and definitely see results by 4 months. I kept going 2 more months in addition hoping to see my few dark spots to fade. I have no fading of my few dark spots at all.. even when the “technitions” (rn’s?) would go over and over my dark spots at each treatment date. I was not told about the late time of 5-7mins, and I would wait after being 5 mins late to be seen??? Each tech tells u a different story and recommends many many of their products. I was told the lasers alone would fade my spots. After 4 months I’m told to get their serum.. I dint buy it. I had a different tech ev time and learned that some
We’re let go, the one I liked then the next treatment they no longer worked there. Are all of them really a certified rn or na? I beg to differ. I had one tech (my last treatment becaue I was over their lies) text while she was doing my duo and went super fast becaue she had no time. When I was done she took her friends into another room. No one was waiting in the waiting room for another client to come in. She could not do my hands , which I had my hands done every time but this woman said it was not in her list on my treatment that day. I was never ever told that some techs would say “no”. I paid $250 for a quick crappy duo. Was in her treatment room (the rooms suck btw, noisy, uncomfortable and cold, dirty beds). When I signed up I was told the exact opposite of what happened. I was told I would have the same tech. A lie. And that I would see a huge difference in my dark spots with just the lasers alone. The manager pretends to be so nice and in the end when you tell them why you are u unhappy they pull out some info verbally that you never ever heard before when they sign u up w all smiles. This place is like a scam. Pop up bs. I do NOT recommend for someone to spend their hard earned money on these lasers. And how do we know how high or low the settings are, especially when you get a different tech each time. They rush u in and out even if you are waiting on them! When you try to talk to the manager she does not answer your questions, it’s like a game of ignoring and then telling you things that you had no idea of from when they lied to you to sign up. There is no manager to contact higher up nor a number or ceo to contact. The manger says that they are the last and only person to deal with. What kind of business is this? I am filing a complaint with the better business bureau when I get some extra time. This business is just machines (how do we know what they r setting them at or doing correctly?). They said my pores would get smaller. lol what a joke. 6 treatments and nothing! My face is the same. It’s just not an honest place to go. And it’s way too expensive to spend $250 on one duo (which I never know they switched me to) treatment for 10 mins. Don’t waste your money on this business that has no clue what there are doing. Too many hands in the cookie jar! I would never recommend anyone I know to ever try it. Fake false lies is what happened to me. What a shame for me to trust this pop up company.
Save your money and go to a real reputable rn and office where you actually know the staff. They jerk you around and use reverse phsychology type techniques verbally when you tell them your experience was terriblea and lies about results. This message is too long but I could go on and on about this business that has no business ripping people off!

Really horrible with cancellation…

Really horrible with cancellation policies. They make it VERY INCONVENIENT for you to be able to withdraw from subscription even beyond the 4 month trial you have to go through first to be able to cancel. I lost my job and was unable to make any further payments and they STILL made it impossible to cancel. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE. Laser Results are... meh. Better options out there for your money.

I purchased a subscription and felt scammed

I purchased a subscription and the laser I like broke. I had months of credits waiting for the laser to be fixed. I lost all the credits when I had to cancel my subscription because it became clear that they weren't updating their equipment. Felt really scammed. The new manager was rude and dismissive. This is for the Tribeca store in the U.S.

I felt like I got scammed at Skin laundry Biltmore. I got skin laser from the $75 promo they’re having for first time customers and it didn’t feel like a laser at all. It just felt like something was blowing hot air on my face, pretty weird.
The staff are nice, but I can’t believe they are still in business after all the bad reviews I’ve read. Which I should have done before I booked the appointment. What a waste of my money and time.

I started going to the Highlands

I started going to the Highlands, Denver location in 2024 for hyperpigmentation concerns from cystic acne on my chin/nose area. Signed up for the membership in April 2024 and requested that it be cancelled that fall of 2024 via voicemail and texts (wouldn’t get an answer) as I was not happy with my results (felt like my hyperpigmentation was getting worse). I unfortunately did not follow up and continued being charged for the membership for multiple months (my fault as I didn’t check) and when I realized it, I called and they could not give me a refund as they couldn’t find record of my calls and texts but stated they would try and give me the number of services that equaled what I had been paying. I appreciated this and my first appointment back I spoke with the front desk in person to have my membership canceled in which the said they did. I also canceled the card that was setup to pay the membership fee. After a couple times I stopped going again as my skin was getting worse with dark spots. I received a text message today that my payment for my membership didn’t go through (since I canceled the card) and am now on my THIRD time requesting a cancellation. I checked the app and it still shows my membership is active. Extremely frustrating. I am eager to see if they answer back to my review stating there is no record of my cancellation requests.

It’s not worth the money at all for near to no results.

I think it’s important to get insights into honest unpaid reviews about Skin Laundry. I’m 40 years old and have been going to Skin Laundry for a year, my main concerns were hyperpigmentation and skin texture. After a full year of treatments I can honestly say I have seen no improvements, in fact I think my dark spots get a little darker after each visit. It’s a lot of money plus the outrageous tips ask to impose for so little to none results. The treatments are so short and brief, sometimes painful, it never feels like a pampering self care experience. For the total of damn near usd3500 I’ve spent with them this year, I could have gotten top of the line skincare products that would have done a lot more. Funny enough they do a lengthy intake questionnaire and photos when you sign up for a membership, but not once during this full year has anyone checked in with me to see how it’s progressing and whether the treatment plan needs to be adjusted to reach my goal. The staff have always been nice on my visits, but when I go for expensive facials I value results over service. Overall, I would not recommend this to anyone and have high doubts of the good reviews I see online plus magazine write ups.

My credit card was charged for an amount where there was no service happened. They said I signed up for an automatic payment plan, i got it but there's no service done. They did not even send a reminder. My credit card was charged twice $250 each or a total of $500 without any treatment done. So unfair. This company has no compassion and consideration to their customers. Dates 08/06/25 and 09/07/2025

This place literally ruined my skin

This place literally ruined my skin.
They tried to deal with open pores and pigment. My skin is prone acne and I got removed all my skin care routine so I could buy “they magic products” that literally ruined my face by breaking up constantly. I wasn’t well looked after my skin condition and as a result, all I got for the fortune that I paid over £1,200 was uncontrolled acne for a while, more acne scaring, more pigmentation after micro needling and same pores. They tried to convince me about my skin improvement by showing me retouched photos from before and after by sharping the before and smoothing the after. Keep away from this clinic specifically the one in Chelsea

It's Not ok to Trick People!

08/07/2025

Skin Laundry15037 N Scottsdale Rd #160, Scottsdale, AZ 85254

I requested to cancel my membership with Skin Laundry, Scottsdale, as I was not aware this was a membership.

I visited Skin Laundry after my Social Media was slammed with their advertisments. I'd never heard of them, but all of a sudden I see them everywhere online. Then, I receive a Groupon in my email to try Skin Laundry for $50. Ok, so I made the appointment, visited, and I was asked about plans and my response was, “I am under a Dermatologist and she would have to approve my continued treatments with your establishment. After filling out some forms, btw, they sit by you on a bench, and tell you, you're just signing for permission to do your treatments and waive the right to sue if something goes wrong. Nothing about a membership!

When it was time to pay, she asked me if I wanted to make another appointment. I said no, I will have to check with my Doctor first.

Then she says that will be $169! and then the tip screen comes up with the lowest being $23 bucks. I have anxiety issues and this set it off bad. I was shocked and felt pressured and put on the spot.

“Also, I used my husband’s credit card, which he only gave permission for me to use it for my initial Groupon visit of $50 in which I was charged $169.00 +the $23 tip.

They upsell you with gibberish talking, you can't understand and never tell you this is a membership. I did not receive a receipt and had no idea what happened until I received an email a few days later letting me know this is a membership and they will charge you $169 monthly with the tip!

I found BBB, Trustpilot, Yelp, and even Class Actions against this establishment online. I have now been contacted by a Law Firm against Skin Laundry for spying practices. Well yes, I will join, not for the money, but because right is right, and wrong is never right.

Skin Laundry claims they cancelled my account by email. We will see. I pray they do the right thing, because it's just bad business to trick customers.

Honesty is still right!

Hi Shan,

Thank you for reaching out and for taking the time to share your feedback about your experience with Skin Laundry Scottsdale. We truly appreciate your honesty and the opportunity to clarify and make things right.

We’re very sorry to hear that you felt unclear about the details of your membership and payment at the time of your visit. Our goal is always to ensure that every guest fully understands the services and options available to them before proceeding. During your initial visit, our team did go over the membership details, including pricing and terms, and this information was also displayed on the client-facing iPad at checkout. We also understand that you mentioned wanting to speak with your dermatologist before continuing treatment, and our team assured you we would be happy to provide any details your dermatologist might need.

That being said, we absolutely respect your decision and have honored your request to cancel your membership. While your membership was still within the initial 4-month term, your cancellation has been processed and confirmed as of September 6, 2025. No further charges will be made moving forward.

Should you or your dermatologist ever wish to revisit Skin Laundry in the future, we would be happy to welcome you back and ensure everything is fully transparent and comfortable.

I would give it a zero but I don't have that option. Customer service is horrendous. if you have an issue there is none to talk to and they all have attitudes and are not accommodating to clients. I had points that I was trying to use for a service they charged my card and refused to use those points which were enough to cover the treatment. Now they cancelled my points all together because I disputed the charge and cancelled my appointment two weeks in advance. They basically stole my money and I am taking this to the BB bureau.

Hi Maya,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear about your recent experience and understand how frustrating billing or rewards concerns can feel. At Skin Laundry, we always aim to ensure every guest feels heard, respected, and supported.

After reviewing your account, it appears there may be some confusion regarding the points and the disputed charge. Our records show that there were no active points totaling $150 at the time of your appointment, and a previous $100 service charge from April was disputed with your card issuer.

Please note that, according to our company policy, when a client disputes a charge, we are required to cancel any active memberships and future appointments until the dispute is fully resolved. This process is in place to ensure clarity and proper account reconciliation for both parties. Unfortunately, this is why your upcoming appointments were removed following the dispute.

We completely understand how disappointing this situation may feel and truly regret that it has caused frustration. Our team did their best to explain the details and assist during your call, and we apologize if the interaction did not feel accommodating. Your feedback is important to us, and we’ll use it to continue improving our communication and service. We sincerely wish you the best on your skin journey.

First of all the treatments are less effective than a home laser. I was diligent for 6 months, never missing a session and using all of their products and there was no improvement to my complexion. Subscriptions you can't get out of

All they want is you to get a membership then you can't cancel for 4 months minimum. Its a scam u see a minimal difference because of the serum they apply for a day and that's about it... I did 2 sessions first one was better than the second one which is supposed to be more powerful but I think dont bother with this business

The reply below doesn't allow me to respond. But I have an update I kept going because im stuck in 4 months contract ...the resurfacing has helped my face tremendously it is now 1 week still see results unlike the other 2 so im glad im starting to see a difference with this one treatment

Response from Lynnfield MA office when…

Response from Lynnfield MA office when I complained about their denial of allowing me to use a gift card for a special service they were advertising.
“Thank you for your feedback. We sent you a text message stating that we were running a promotion for Power Resurfacing treatment for $100. To redeem this offer, clients must purchase the treatment using the link provided in the text message and then book the treatment on our website/app.

You called at 6:45 on you were instructed to purchase the promotional offer online as the text read to purchase then book before it ended. You never ended up purchasing the promotion and got upset when it ended. We unfortunately could not honor it anymore and offered you a $50 Signature Laser facial or a Resurfacing facial for $150 to compensate but you were very rude and hung up on us.

We called you the next day because we spoke with upper management and we wanted to inform you that we had permission to extend the promotion for you. We left you a voicemail and never heard back from you. Based on your behavior towards our staff, we will not be honoring this promotion for you moving forward.”
They lied. They called me back to say the promotion had expired. They offered a different service, not the one that was advertised. The reason I did not pre purchase the service I wanted was because they told me they could “ not find my gift card in the system” and they would call me the next day. I did not want to prepay for something that I wanted to use gift card for that they could not locate. By the way I do have the gift card. The staff member was not knowledgeable about my situation and told me her manager would call next day. They never offered to extend the promotion to me. They offered totally different service. And no one left any voicemail. I have all my voicemails. They also gave me email of district manager Tim Robinson to file complaint. The issue here is the promotion was a good value but when they found out I had gift card they did not want to honor it. I sent two emails to Mr Robinson. He never responded. People, read the reviews and membership carefully. Total scam, dishonest and not rated by Better Business Bureau. I do not see them lasting.

Hi Laura,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate your interest in our recent Power Resurfacing promotion and the opportunity to clarify what happened.

Our records show that we sent you a text message regarding our limited-time $100 Power Resurfacing treatment offer. To redeem this promotion, clients were asked to purchase the treatment through the link provided in the message and then book their appointment online or through our app before the promotion ended.

When you called our location at 6:45, our team explained that the promotional purchase needed to be completed online, as outlined in the message. Unfortunately, the promotion expired before the purchase was made. To try to accommodate you, our team offered alternative options—a $50 Signature Laser Facial or a Resurfacing Facial for $150—but we understand that this was disappointing.

Following your call, we spoke with upper management and received approval to extend the promotional offer for you as a courtesy. We reached out the next day and left a voicemail, but did not receive a response.

Please note that due to the nature of the interaction and in consideration of our staff, we will not be able to extend or honor the promotion at this time. We do wish you all the best on your skin care journey and hope you find the perfect treatment plan that fits your needs.

Total scam at Skin Laundry Burlingame

I had a terrible experience at Skin Laundry Burlingame , California on April 17th. I purchased the Skin Resurfacing Duo facial online, but when I showed up, the nurse practitioner decided on her own to do a completely different facial — without discussing it with me first. Then at checkout, they had the nerve to try and charge me for the facial they chose, not the one I actually purchased.

When I asked why I couldn’t receive the treatment I paid for, they casually said, “Oh, you can’t do the Skin Resurfacing Duo on your first visit.” Excuse me? Then why did your website allow me to book and pay for it in the first place? There was a disclaimer about signature facial , not resurfacing !!!

No communication, no accountability, and a total bait-and-switch. This place is a mess. I won’t be returning — and I’d warn anyone thinking about it to think twice.

Unreliable and untrustworthy
