Did exactly what it said on the tin. Everything you’d hope and expect

The RYA Day Skipper theory online course was perfect for me. This very instructive course with well-presented units includes links to useful resources and is good value for money. At short intervals during the unit you do a small self-check test. At the end of each unit a detailed test serves to check your progress. If you have a real problem understanding a topic, you can email their team of instructors for clarification. Ideal for anyone wants to do the course at their own pace. I highly recommend it.

Surpassed my expectations. Clear, very well presented and enjoyable course. Fully marked answer papers coming back within 24 hrs over a weekend. Extremely impressed.

The instructor is obviously very experienced and has a wealth of knowledge - and definitely a passionate sailor!

Lots of helpful background info is shared along the way which often gives a deeper, more practical and often humorous insight into the topic.

The course was self explanated and easier to understand.

I found the on-line tutorials very clear and well presented. The tutorials made good use of anecdotes, images, as well as some videos, to emphasise key points and there was some appropriate light humour used in places, which made the experience more fun. The tests at the end of each section helped cement knowledge and highlight areas to work on further. The communications were efficient. When it came to requesting the exams and then receiving the exam papers, it all was executed very quickly and well within the scheduled timeframes.

I found the Skippers Online Coastal / Yachtmaster Offshore Theory course to be an ideal blend of instruction and practical experience, both within units and through the examination process. Even though I had already learned some of these navigation techniques elsewhere, the Skippers Online course allowed me to take this knowledge to the next level--not exactly mastery, which only comes with real world application, but a level somewhere in between, given the extensive training exercises. The pre-recorded presentations use a range of modalities, including 3-D and images, to illustrate points in a way that can't be illustrated through text alone. I was also pleasantly surprised by the way in which my frequent online questions were answered so quickly, always within a day, but more often within a couple hours. This meant I had an answer while I was actively working on a unit. I was so pleased with the experience that I will be taking the Yachtmaster Ocean course through Skippers Online.

Very good online course! I had fun following the lectures and doing the exercises. They cover a lot of useful and interesting subjects. Support and communication with the team of SkippersOnline was also great and always very responsive.
