Don't believe they will help just anyone

Don't believe they will help just anyone. I went to their presentation on their services. I thought this looks great. I was wrong. They only want healthy people. They rejected my husband's application due to his health issues. He still gets around on his own and is the primary driver when we travel. He drove our 31' travel trailer from New Brunswick Canada to Tampa Florida area with no issues. But they would insure me as an individual. However that does not cover our potential needs. So, be aware they are picky about who they approve for membership.

Alternative narratives shoved it down your throat

The television series SkyMed started out promising. It's a television series set in remote Canada focusing on the emergency medical personnel and pilots. The scenarios are interesting in the photography of the area is beautiful. What is frustrating is there is such an overfocused on diversity specifically with the LGBTQ And I am very queer positive but there is so much of it in this program and they keep introducing more and more each episode I'm in season 2 and I think we're on the 10th or 11th guest appearance of a gay situation. It really detracts from the authenticity of the show. It would be fine to have some queer couples etc but they could spend more time focusing on the indigenous people up there of which they do illustrate to some extent but not nearly as much as they do with the LGBTQ which is over the top and distracting even for someone that is queer positive. Even being positive on it it's like there's not going to be that many situations in remote Western Canada. It's too bad because the show had a lot of promise but the overzealousness of trying to force that narrative just causes the show to lose its credibility. And for those that are positive on that like myself I just find it ludicrously unrealistic.

Skymed is a scam

Skymed is a scam. They tell you they can diagnose dermatologic issues by sending pictures All they do is tell you that you need a biopsy. So you pay a fee for nothing. No point in using this service. Waste of time and money. I do not recommend. There are other online resources that do a much better job. Apostrophe is one of

I will never let this lapse

I will never let this lapse! My husband had a motorcycle accident in Alaska last summer. SkyMed responded immediately and helped me to find someone to crate my trike and cargo trailer and ship it home. They paid almost $12k to the shipper directly immediately and secured $1k airfare to send us home the day after he was released from the hospital. They offered same day but I had already paid for the hotel so we let him rest an additional day. They called before we even landed in KC to make sure we had arrived without issues.

My husband and I purchased this…

My husband and I purchased this insurance in 2020. As with all insurance, unless you are the seller, it is difficult to understand policies.
In March of 2024,my husband had an uncontrollable nose bleed. He was taken, by a friend, to the hospital a short distance away. Twice on Monday, again on Tuesday with no effort to have him see an ENT doctor. On Thursday, it started again. Now he is so weak from blood loss I had to get a walker for him.
With no desire to go back to get no results, I called 911 and asked that he be taken to the VA hospital about an hour away.
I'm thinking, no worries we have this Sky Med insurance. Wrong!!! First and only time we used this, claim was denied.
So now we have a $2700.00 bill to pay.

I like medicine and air flights

I like medicine and air flights. I like the Canadian Indian community. What I dislike is that the only Black man staring and Black woman are staring in flight. They have to have same-sex relationships why can't they have a relationship with the opposite sex?

OUR ACTUAL SKYMED EXPERIENCE

SKYMED EXPERIENCE: “Every year now since our SkyMed experience,”, “Laurie and I, as the Wagon Masters of the weeklong KZ/Venture RV Owners International Rally in Shipshewana, IN, make sure a presentation time is offered to SkyMed International. Why? SkyMed helped us so much in our time of need, we love these people! We ended up using one of their services almost immediately. As we didn’t expect this, but in just three weeks’ time from becoming Members, Laurie came down with a bout of pneumonia. It was SkyMed Member Services that we called, and they arranged immediately for an ambulance to transport her from the local triage to the hospital. A 17 mile ambulance ride was $7000.00. Our medical insurance only paid a very small portion, SkyMed paid the balance. The amount that SkyMed covered exceeded the cost of becoming members. SkyMed delivered as they said they would, and I know as a SkyMed Member, I will get to wherever I need to be to get the best care I need.

At first, when we considered SkyMed, we thought that we were ‘too young’ for what SkyMed was offering. After giving more consideration to becoming Members, I knew that if I should ever be incapacitated and not be able to drive our RV, Laurie my wife was not going to drive it.
Therefore, after attending another SkyMed presentation in Arcadia, FL where we learned more about SkyMed’s services, we decided to become members.

We tell our friends our SkyMed service was outstanding because everything went exactly as SkyMed said it would. All of our questions were answered in our time of need. Being SkyMed Members has been very beneficial to us and we always suggest to our friends and Rally attendees that becoming SkyMed Members is one of the best things you can do for ‘peace of mind’ when traveling.

We highly recommend SkyMed especially if you are a senior and a traveler whether by car, RV, plane or cruise ship, no matter where your travels take you as long as you are in a "friendly" country, SkyMed will have your back not only on the road but while you are at home also.

SkyMed Is a Scam

Absolutely the worst customer service of any medical organization that I have experienced. The advertising leads you to believe that SkyMed has their own planes on which they book you and transport you in the event of emergency. They do NOT have their own planes. All they do is book you on a commercial flight. And once they have booked you, their service ends. If the flight is cancelled or delayed, SkyMed does NOTHING to help you get to your home or hospital. When you call and ask for assistance, SkyMed says there is nothing they can do about the commercial airlines operations. In our case, we were booked in a first class seat on a flight that was cancelled and not rescheduled to leave for three days. Meanwhile, a surgical team was waiting our arrival. SkyMed did not even inform them that we would not be arriving as scheduled. Then the airline, United, reseated my very, very sick wife in the middle seat in the very back of the plane and would not reseat her in the first class seat we purchased. When we called SkyMed for help, they said there was nothing they could do. My wife nearly died on that flight. SkyMed is a sham, a scam, and a complete rip off. Do not waste your money. You can schedule your own emergency flight and have much more control over what happens.
