Ben’s work exceeded all expectations. It is stylish and so meticulously inscribed. The plaque arrived punctually and extremely well wrapped. I am a very happy customer and would recommend everyone to look no further - as Ben even helped me to design the plaque. He obviously has a very good eye and feeling for anything to do with slate.

Delighted with the very high quality of the Welsh slate house sign, the clear engraving done with care and the excellent pre and post sales correspondence. These signs are not the cheapest but, in my opinion, worth every penny of the additional cost due to the quality and durability. I shall be using the Slate Workshop again and very much recommend these craftsmen.
The fact the signs are made in Carmarthenshire is the icing on the cake .. real Welsh Slate made in Wales!

After years of using clay and seeing wood memorials rot, it was time for a more substantial material which will last. Luckily the natural burial centre was now allowing slate (subject to size limitations). Therefore our case we had two memorials in clay (or what was left of them) which we needed transferred to slate. The natural burial centre recommended two centres, one being Ben's at slate workshop.

We sent Ben the original images, and asked for a price, and the methods which he could use to reproduce them. Given that our originals included multiple type sets, foreign characters, a broken "Kanye" heart, logos from a online gaming show, it was no mean task.
Clearly you do not expect a 1-1 representation as there had been colour on the clay originals.

Ben produced a mockup, which when we saw the finished stones, under represented the final effect.

The final stones are just fabulous, and loose nothing by not having the colours of the original.

We think we have excellent stones, which like the slate on roofs, will last many years, and fit perfectly into the natural environment in which they sit .

For us, for our case , the final stones are just perfect, for so many reasons.

I have just collected a slate memorial stone from Ben. It’s fantastic. Ben was really helpful with artwork creation and producing an ‘out of the ordinary’ memorial plaque to my specifications for my late parents. The workmanship was superb. I particularly wanted Welsh slate and a local craftsman as my father was born in the area. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Ben was so patient and helpful and always quick to respond to our numerous requests to change the proof until we made up our minds. The finished slate memorial is very special. It is absolutely perfect and looks wonderful and just what we wanted. Top quality materials and precision wording.

Ben provided an excellent service and delivered the beautiful memorial straight to Clandon. It really is a fitting tribute to Sue who we love and miss every day.

Today I received our beautiful engraved slate house name for our new home. When I unwrapped it I was truly overwhelmed by the workmanship. The Slate was fabulous quality and the letters were beautifully engraved with gold inlay.
I made my initial enquiry and Ben agreed to make it with hardly any notice and sent it in the time frame I requested for my husbands Birthday.
