A game of two halves
I have just received a final settlement, 3 years and 4 months after initially contacting Slater & Gordon. This is thanks to the involvement of Shuiken Chan who took over the case 7 months ago and has brought it to a successful conclusion, giving me clear explanations and outlining the choices available to me in a way that was incredibly helpful: I would give Shuiken 5 stars for her involvement. Prior to her involvement, I was getting frustrated with the standard of support I was getting: I was passed between at least 4 different points of contact, one of whom had a very annoying habit of claiming to have phoned me when he hadn't (and not seeming to realise that mobile phones log all calls received whether or not they are answered). Each time my point of contact changed, I was told it was because the previous person had left the company/team - I don't know if this level of turnover is common, or if it's just the nature of where 'no win no fee' type cases sit in the order of priorities. My overall view of the experience has been positive because it has ended in a positive outcome (for which thank you, Shuiken), but be prepared for a long haul if you start this process.
