Systemic Ableism and the Admission of a "Blacklist"
I am writing this as a warning to any neurodivergent professionals—specifically those with autism—considering Camp Canada. My experience with this organization has been a textbook study in procedural negligence and direct discrimination.
My 2024 application was treated with utter contempt. When I requested the Reasonable Adjustment of a structured, scheduled communication pace to accommodate my autism, I was met with high-pressure sales tactics and condescension. Their "Sales Team" (specifically a representative named James) chose to label my neurodivergent traits as a "bad impression" and a "lack of commitment," subsequently terminating my application.
The most disturbing element followed: during a subsequent appeal, senior management explicitly admitted that I had been "blacklisted" as a result of the friction caused by my request for accessibility and my reports of discrimination. Under the Equality Act 2010, this is a clear act of Victimisation.
If you require an agency that respects legal statutory duties or understands the value of neurodivergent talent, look elsewhere. Camp Canada prioritizes their "sales funnel" over professional merit and the law.
