David who attended my call to sort the Boiler issue, was really friendly and knowledgeable about Boilers and knew exactly what needs to be done. Sorted to arrange for an engineer as soon as possible. Also he advised when the annual service need to be done next and when to book it. Very helpful. I will be happy to renew the cover next year again.

Smart cover have so far been difficult to pin down. I took out my policy on 3rd October & requested & paid for a boiler service. I'm still waiting for it. Last week I chased the issue up again for the 3rd time & was asked to find an engineer myself & they would cover the cost up to a certain value. I haven't had success at finding a local engineer though I've made numerous calls. Anyone willing to do the service has a long waiting list. When I rang Smartcover again today to update them & ask them how long it will take them to find an engineer I was given a different number to ring, for a company called Assuranty. When I rang that number Assuranty said they have no connection with Smartcover. So I had to go through Smartcovers automated system & queue again to speak to someone. They told me my order for a boiler service had been put on hold as they were relying on me to find someone. So time consuming & frustrating. David, the last phone operator, was understanding & helpful. He asked me to leave this review.
David was very helpful and organized a drain company to attend the same day to clear the sewage overflow in my garden, great result thanks.

We had an engineer this morning to service our boiler , his name is Zak and what a fantastic person he was . Done his best . I am very happy about his job and must recommend him .

I’ve been paying monthly for a SmartCover service plan that’s supposed to cover my washing machine and tumble dryer. When my washing machine broke down recently, I called to arrange a repair — only to be told that they couldn’t help because the washing machine they have on their system isn’t the one I actually own.
That’s because SmartCover replaced my original machine in 2022 after several failed repair attempts, but they never updated their records. Now, they’ve lost the paperwork and are refusing to honour my cover unless I can somehow “prove” that the replacement was supplied by them — which is absurd, because it was their own contractor who delivered it.
I’ve provided the email confirming that a replacement was approved, yet they continue to deny responsibility. Their customer service team have been rude, repeatedly spoken over me, and treated me like I’m trying to cheat the system, when the fault is entirely theirs.
I’ve paid my premiums faithfully for years, but the moment I need help, I’m stonewalled. I’ve now had to raise a formal complaint and am preparing to escalate to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
If you’re thinking about taking out a plan with SmartCover, don’t — the cover is worthless if they can just lose their records and refuse service.
PLEASE NOTE, I DO NOT EVEN GIVE THEM 1 STAR!!!! It kills me to select the one star option but that is the lowest one available.

Be very careful if you are a Landlord. If your tenant does not report a problem IMMEDIATELY then Smart Cover will NOT treat it as an emergency and will refuse to sanction the repair.
When I asked for the time frame for emergency reporting they had no answer.
Very unimpressed with this wriggle out.

I have only been with this company since April and have found that the Customer Service Team are really helpful and caring. They answer the phone promptly, deal with any queries quickly and efficiently and follow up constantly to ensure their contractors contact you to book in and carry out any jobs in a timely manner and also to ensure you are happy with the work.
I especially would like to commend David and Steve on the help and due care and attention they have shown me with the 2 claims I have made so far.
