The app was easy to use but the 1 star is due to the fact that they use AI to edit your photo. I wouldn’t recommend this app. Passport photos are not accepted if they are edited using AI.

Reliable and efficient!
I discovered this app during Covid and have been using it ever since whenever I need ID photos. It’s very easy to use, the photos have always been accepted, and it’s especially helpful for children and baby ID pictures - when you often need more than one try to get it right! This service is so easy to use! The photos come out so much nicer than in the photomaton booths. Customer service is 10 star!!! I made a mistake on my email and they corrected it. I made another mistake, they reimbursed me. You are not just dealing with a robot, but a human being.

I've used the app a few times. The last time, the photos were bad. They were too bright and blurry. I wasted my money; they didn't pass the validator.

It's a really useful App
It's a really useful App, but really frustrating that there is no frame and guidance is not really complete. It would be useful to know that ears must be showing, for example. The process took 4 attempts for each of mine and my wife's photos, all for different reasons - please consider making the guidance pre-photos more complete.

Not Happy very complicated took a while to come through and charged £5.99 couldn’t find how to cancel. In the mean time completed my Gov application with a free photo option. Don’t waste your money.

You made your first attempt at 5:48 pm, then another at 5:50 pm, and your photo with the code was validated at 6:20 pm, which falls within a reasonable processing timeframe.
We apply strict compliance criteria to ensure your photo is not rejected by the authorities.
To help you take fully compliant photos, the following recommendations apply in most cases: look directly at the camera lens, keep your shoulders visible, use a plain and light background, avoid shadows and face natural light, wear a dark top and keep your neck clear. Make sure your ears are visible, keep hair away from your face, avoid large accessories, and hold your phone at the correct distance and height in relation to your face.

They altered my photo too much and don’t answer me
They altered my photo so much, that it wasn’t myself anymore. My skin tone became more orange than Trump’s face, and my face became way more round. Moreover, I forgot to remove my glasses, but the system didn’t catch it. After that they validated my photo without asking me, I had no chance to take another one, and their customer support takes forever to answer. I highly do not recommend this app.

The app was really easy to use and…
The app was really easy to use and following the direction I had a photo taken that was then verified by ‘Smartphone iD’ as passing the criteria for use on a passport application. After paying the money ‘Smartphone iD’ sent me the photo and code to use during the passport electronic application. Unfortunately it was then turned down as not meeting the criteria!
I messaged ‘Smart iD’ for a refund but heard nothing.
Bottom line I paid for their service which didn't work and had no feedback from them.
I suggest trying something other that ‘Smart iD’ if you are after a passport approved digital photography.

Very strict for the picture, more than normal photomatons but great because it works.
