It appears to be made soundly, but it is very difficult to operate if you are actively using it. Requires two hands since the 3 separate latching areas are constantly being pulled back by the spring retract. Can't ever get the bottom to latch or unlatch with out substantial extra effort. We have medium size and smaller dogs and they just push underneath the screen mesh to get through. Not effective in the least bit. At least not for us, others may have different results. I think the idea is great, but the execution of it is awful. Too bad, because they are really expensive.

Bought 2 gates, just slightly expensive but they do the job and so far very happy.

The Smart Retract adapters allowed us to attach to our new deck quickly and without hassle!

We love this gate. So easy to pull back and hook again. It is much more convenient than a standard gate. We have used it with 2 Rottweiler puppies and it has held up well. I would highly recommend these for busy areas!

Excellent product, would buy again! Holding up very well too. Only downgraded to 4 stars because of minor issues: 1) the provided screws were not high quality and of only one length. One of the screws broke off in wall stud. 2) the wall anchor kit is not going to work for many people.. I bought screws and different wall anchors at Ace to get the job done. .

Works great! Easy for our bigger kids to operate, and keeps our baby off the stairs. We use it at the top and it works great. I don't let him push on it, but he doesnt usually try. I've been very happy with it. I love having it completely out if the way when he's awake.

Performs as shown. Safe for my active 1 yr old. She does try to play footsie with our two pit bulls when they stick their paws under the bottom but it has held up. I bought the extended one in beige, it still looks brand new 5 months later. The beige is easy to see through which is a plus.

And it actually does work with one hand like they say it does. Definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Love this gate so much I bought two. There are three things that make them unique. First, there is no crossbar on the floor to interfere with vacuuming. Second, the white rolled up gate has a low profile and disappears against my white woodwork. Third, the gate is easy for guests (and me) to open and shut. I can easily remove it altogether if I want. Thank you!

The gates are great, we have had no issues with them. Have used them every day with our 2 year old for about 2 months now. He's started getting interested in opening them but not there yet (luckily). The height (we have the lower height) is still too high for him to be able to operate it on his own. We also have a small dog (25 lb) who we put behind a retract-a-gate once, and she was able to crawl underneath it. The installation is relatively simple but wasn't for us because we have an old house and didn't want to drill in lead paint. We used banister adapters and zip ties, and it worked well. Overall definitely would recommend.

Works just as advertised! Love that it can be opened and closed with one hand! We have dogs that drool and this product is super easy to wipe clean! NOTE: if you have a child tall enough to lean over the top, be sure to lock it in place so it doesn't roll down and they fall over it!

The products are working very well...and are everything we expected...these are being used to secure our 3 Large dogs on our lake house deck... surprisingly...the locks have proven to be critical to stop escapes through the bottom...believe me they have been tested...and they work very well...my only guidance is to have a metal option for the mounting hardware...just to add to the strength...I think you'd be surprised by how many would select this option...otherwise a fantastic product...

We got a few extra brackets and now we can move our gates between inside an outside. It was a lifesaver to keep our 2 year old on the deck while Grandma and Grandpa social distanced on the lawn! #COVIDSolution

Side Benefit: The gates and still working well and looking clean even though they have spent 2 months outdoors.

Great gate! We use them as a crate for our newly rehomed dog. They are low profile, barely see them. When we need to go out - instant corralled off area for our dog to be cozy and safe. VOILA!

Pricey, but well made, sturdy. Our install was a little awkward only because of the our space constraint (old farmhouse), so I recommend you do a test run to make sure you have enough room to hook the ‘gate’ onto the receiving end.

I definitely would recommend this, especially for small spaces. Would love it if these were made in a screen door size (wink, wink). I have a perfect spot!

Super to keep small dogs behind while answering the door . Wouldn't recommend for small kids at the top of a stairs as too easy to break through!!

Great product. It's easy to install and customer service is very responsive and friendly in case you have any questions. Best of all, it's a safe and easy gate for the top of my stairs, and it tucks away when not in use, not obstructing anything. I love it.

We have 5 retract a gates for our home and they are fantastic! They are especially useful to close off larger spaces, and we love the flexibility of multiple anchors, allowing us to keep our toddler off of our stairs, or also block off the kitchen when we’re using the stove. These are high quality and very long lasting - a few of our gates are hand-me-downs from a family with 3 kids and they still look as good and function as well as our brand new gates!
