It’s easy to set up an account and transfer funds and if you need any help there are real people that can answer any questions you have over the telephone.
Interest rates are really competitive and there is a wide range of products to choose from.

I was invited by Smartsave's email message to log on to my account to select an option at the upcoming maturity of my bond. I logged on successfully, looked through the options, then selected to reinvest. I am now told I cannot reinvest as they cannot verify my identity - even though they allowed me to access my own account (so yes, I am who I say I am and who you think I am) and despite the fact that none of my details have changed since they accepted me as an investor originally. I have asked them to explain their specific reasons and they have refused to do so. Extracts from their nonsensical jargon-filled reply "..we have been continuing to diversify the online verification tools we use to verify customer details.. " What does this mean? " ..this means we can't match your details using the tools available to us at the moment."; Why not? What doesn't match that did match last year? "So that we can ensure our verification process remains protected and secure, we're not able to share more information at this time." Then they sign off with "We're working ... on making it possible to used additional online verification tools so that we can help even more customers with a savings account." !! All complete hogwash. Just meaningless words and still no actual explanation. Most unimpressive.

Very easy and simple process to invest your money. Top interest rates. 2yrs on, I am more than happy with the service.

Had a 1 year fixed savings account and it was easy to set up and easy when it matured. Only slight annoyance is that you cannot print a statement for the account mid term,they only issue one on closure.

No issues at all. I invested for a year & received a good interest rate (the best I could find). I received email notifications regarding my account/ investment, including what my options were at the end of the fixed year. It was really simple to follow the instructions when the fixed year term was up. The only thing that would have been better (5 stars) would be if there was an banking app. I would still use again.

Simple process to invest and when funds matured the balance was transferred as per instructions with no fuss. Would use again in the future

I have been saving with SmartSave for a year. My maturity instructions were activated most efficiently today. I am pleased.

Straight forward bank, Good service and Rates , Easy to get things done.

The process was simple from start to finish. The funds were in my account on the maturity date, unlike others where you wait one or two days after. I had applied for one offer but another was then launched a few days later offering better interest, as mine had not gone live I was able to cancel and apply for new one.

Does exactly what it says on the box. Everything they said they were going to do, they did - and in the projected time-frame. I will re-invest with SmartSave/Chetwood Bank.

I was in an emergency predicament. Having only 6 weeks previously reinvested my savings into a fixed term account with Smartsave. Due to urgent dental surgery that outweighed any savings I had. I was desperate to access my smartsave account which I understood was not guidelines. However, after emailing and using the online chat. Which was a little frustrating the wonderful Andy called me back, communicated clearly, calmly & sympathetically. He instructed me on what evidence was required. We ended our call and I recieved his email within minutes. I sent the necessary evidence and I recieved another email approx 4 hours later. Having resolved the case. The bank offers good rate of interest. My personal experience with Andy was excellent.

Contacted Smartsave as nearing maturity of my first 1 year Fixed Saver with them. Dealt with Mark on live chat and he answered my questions promptly and with full information. Very impressed.

Excellent savings bank.Rates are as good as others but what makes this better is everything is in front of you. No searching for how much interest you'll get,as soon as you deposit money in you can see what you get at the end of your term.Nothing is a hassle and money goes straight into your nominated bank account. Would highly recommend.
