Very unprofessional behavior from the staff and very questionable business practices!

On April 8th, 2025, I was told that the grand total for my treatment plan was going to be $3,856. I paid this, in full, at the time of my visit and set an appointment for May 12th, 2025, to have the procedure performed. Later that day I received a call from a dental assistant and she stated that they “forgot” to include bone grafting in the total. The additional cost was $3,447, bringing the new grand total to $7,303. I needed the procedure so I agreed to the new grand total, but only after verifying that nothing else was “forgotten” and the grand total would not increase again. On May 9th, 2025, I received a call, from the same dental assistant, requesting to change my appointment from May 12th to May 13th, but she requested that I still come in on the 12th to complete billing for the remainder of the $7,303 (the grand total confirmed again by the dental assistant during this call). I agreed, however when I arrived to complete payment, the front office employees tried to charge me a new grand total of $8,128, an additional $825! They claimed that the $825 was for the bone grafting (remember that’s what they said the additional $3,447 was for)! I was obviously upset, but things didn’t get heated until one of the front office employees kept insisting that I did not understand what was being explained to me. In the end, the front office and the dental assistant admitted that it was a miscommunication on their part and even offered me an apology, however they would not amend the grand total what was agreed upon. To make matters worse, due to the disagreement, the front office staff stated that Dr. Claudia Orta refused to continue with my treatment! Dr. Orta didn’t even have the decency to speak to me personally! Very unprofessional behavior from the staff and very questionable business practices!
