Cellular Shades have issues with locking mechanism
The Cellular Shades are very nice. The color is different from the sample but still pretty. Easy to install. I bought 4 large shades and 1 of the 4 has an issue with the mechanism. It locks sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. Still waiting for a response from customer service, hopefully it is an easy fix. I see from other reviews that Smith & Noble does not stand behind the mechanism and instead try to say you are not doing it correctly. So I guess I will also be stuck with a $500 shade that does not always lock.

They only sent half the fabric samples the rest were out of stock but I was never notified of when they would be available, so not very useful.

$459.44 for a tiny 4-light
$459.44 for a tiny 4-light, 21” x 21” fabric blind with cord. The cord will not Catch and HOLD the blind up. My husband and I built our high-end, custom craftsman home and ordered most blinds from BlindsGalore, 23 separate blinds, no issues. 80 combined years of “operating” Pull Cords but your sales person insisted we were not pulling the cord far enough to the right. It’s not rocket science. This one IS NOT Working. She ended our call telling me she will be replacing the blind, but then I received confirmation email stating Smith & Noble would NOT be replacing the blind. We are shocked Smith & Noble will Not stand behind their product. We will NEVER order from this company again.

Great Fabrics for a Quality Roman Shade
Smith & Noble has the best selection of any of the shade companies I researched in my effort to add some style to an aqua blue kitchen. I wanted a Roman shade for a window with a lackluster view, and I enjoyed looking though the many colors and patterns S&N offers. I ordered several free samples and settled on an attractive aqua and beige geometric pattern on a quality fabric that I think makes the window look special. When I called S&N to place my order I learned that the pattern in those colors had just been discontinued, but Jennifer who was helping me was able to determine that they had enough of the fabric still in stock to fill my order, which I really appreciated. I also appreciated her advice in helping me measure the window correctly.
The finished shade arrived about a month later, beautifully made and in great shape. After reading the instructions several times I was able to hang the shade myself and I'm very pleased with the result. It gives a custom look to the room.

Absolutely horrible experience! We paid extra to have our shades professionally measured and every single one of the five shades is the wrong size. I have sent two sets of measurements and a pro has come again to measure, and STILL they are asking for a fourth set of measurements. I have been trying to schedule the re-measuring for over a month to no avail. It's been over three months since I first contacted smith and noble about this problem. The level of hoops they are making me jump through for their "guarantee" is appalling.

Excellent customer service
We have used S&N for over 30 window treatments over many years. They have been great. We did have a problem with our motorized shade this time but customer service was lovely to work with and the replacement shade came very quickly. I highly recommend this company!

Your product is always fantastic
Your product is always fantastic. I have ordered from you for at least 20 years and never been disappointed. The solar shades we ordered this time were easily installed and the look is clean and beautiful.
Need to improve on shipping notice
The cornice is great but your website wouldn’t allow me to take the 30% discount I was offered in an email, I had to call to get it fixed. Also, I received an email announcing delivery 3 DAYS AFTER CORNICE WAS DROPPED OFF IN BAD WEATHER. I had no idea the cornice had arrived, and it was left outside overnight.
Lots of options
Easy to get swatches and choose something that works. Easy to fill out the order online after I've measured, and doesn't take too long to the finished product! Having purchased before, my only note would be to get the edge binding for natural fiber products, which is new since I remodeled and bought a bunch of blinds 18 years ago.
