My experience with snackless
I signed up to the snackless programme because I felt like I was constantly eating and didn’t know where to begin. During the first week of the programme I enjoyed identifying patterns in my eating behaviour. I thought I was eating all the time but through the food journalling I realised I was mostly snacking in the gap between after work and dinner. The group coaching session on emotional eating also made me realise I snack when I’m bored or stressed.
During the second week I found planning what snacks I was going to eat really useful as it introduced structure to my day and ensured I didn’t get too hungry and then raid the cupboards. Because the snacks are pre-planned I think about food less.
When I started trying to snack less half way through the programme I found doing arts/crafts an effective distraction strategy. I liked the snackless programme because I got to work out what works for me. It wasn’t about counting calories or being told what to eat.
