THIS IS COMPANY IS A SCAM.

PLEASE DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY UNTIL YOU READ SOME REVIEWS.

I arrived at Rome fuimicino airport on the 17th July. I went to your check in desk and spoke to Julia when I gave her my confirmation number she told me in a very aggressive and rude manner that this booking was inactive and therefore she couldn’t help me out. I was told that I had to speak to a broker on a number she gave me which wouldn’t connect. When I showed her that the number would not connect she again told me that there was nothing she can do in even more aggressive manner.

I had made my booking with Opodo and I called them and they asked to speak to the agent. I passed the phone on to Julia and she being rude and aggressive with the agent as well.

Eventually she seemed to find the confirmation number but told me that she would only release the car to me after I pay an additional fee of Euro 344 as insurance. I informed her that I already had my own private insurance. She said that they don’t accept that and must pay. Once I reluctantly agreed to pay as I had no choice but to take the car, her attitude completely changed and she became extremely friendly.

It is clear that this was a major scam and we were forced to pay more than double the sum we paid for the booking when there was no reason.
She then said that had I had a credit card then this wouldn’t need to happen. When I gave her my American Express she said they don’t accept it. However she accepted it for me to make the payment of 344 euros.

Firstly there is no where in the confirmation that states that you need to buy insurance at the desk otherwise the car is not released, and secondly there is no where that states American Express credit cards are not accepted.

On the return of the car, I witnessed again them scamming everyone at the desk with this insurance thing or something else and meet a number of customers returning their car and every single one had one version or another of being scammed. They also attempted to scam me for the deposit that they took at the check in by telling me that their systems are down and therefore could give me proof of closing the rental contract. I am still keeping fingers crossed to ensure that they deposit comes back.

For all of you that experienced similar situation I strongly urge you to write to the headquarters and to any regulatory body as this companies should not be allowed to operate any where.
I am still in the process of figuring out the details of who to write too etc, once I have this information I will post here again. Of course getting the shuttle back to the airport was another stressful experience, your basically told to go wait without any clear instructions as to where or what time the shuttle will leave. We had to wait for ages and of course panicking that we will be late for our flight.

AVOID, the worst customer service

AVOID! The boxes are great but the customer service - the WORST ever received. Subscribed to the box in July as a gift for someone else. first box received at the end of September - august and September box arrived mid October. No proactive email or proper apology - addressed emails as ‘dear customer’ ‘dear Lisa’ my names not Lisa, addressed none of my concerns and just ignored what I’d wrote in my email, keep taking money and not delivering boxes. Such a shame the customer service is so horrific because the boxes are great - we’ll be cancelling once my recipient has had the boxes intended.

Horrific company

Horrific company. Took me 3 attempts to cancel and that was 11 months ago and ive had 94 emails since with various offers to return. I then emailed asking to be removed from the mailing list and have had 16 offers since.the boxes are always late and are basically full of crap.

Magic. Makes your money vanish.

Unfortunately I discovered the poor reviews are accurate. Can’t actually review the contents because I’ve never received the box I paid for. My email enquiry did receive a response, but just some fluff about delays being due ‘to current climate’. There’s only so long a company can play the Brexit/Covid card. Even if they were planning to send Russia/Ukraine snacks, they’ve had plenty of time to source alternatives. There was no clarification about when my box would be posted, but they did tell me about the next payment they’d be taking!! I think not.

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE

Wish I’d have read the reviews before subscribing. The boxes were always late and they still took your next months payment of if you’d had no box. When you try get in touch to cancel your subscription they ignore you. It took me over 2 months just to be unsubscribed and then to stop charging me!

Awful, don’t subscribe!

I cancelled this box in the past and they were sending email after email with discount codes because they were struggling to get customers. I finally got one for 40% off for 3 months so I thought I’d give it a try. I wish I’d read reviews before I did because I have been trying to get in contact with them about multiple issues and now I don’t have the option to cancel and have no reply from them at all. I’ve paid for 3 boxes so far and have only received one and now I can’t choose to cancel I am going to have to block the payment through my bank. Boxes are fun but company and communication is absolutely awful!

So I joined Snacksurprise on the 22nd…

So I joined Snacksurprise on the 22nd April they took out £24.99 Straight away for the first box, I had an email to state that usually they take out the money on the 4th of every month and aim to ship by the 25th but my first box will be delayed which was fine, I then messaged them around the 2nd may asking as to when it will be sent out as I don’t feel comfortable them taking a further £24.99 out of my account for the next box when I haven’t got the first yet, they replied and said i would get it this week
It’s now coming up to Saturday 7th and it’s still not even been dispatched.. it’s not looking great considering I’m a new customer surely you’re meant to make you’re customers want to stay with you.. I’m thinking of cancelling already.

Boxes ok, but don't try and cancel!

When I first subscribed they took 2 payments both within a couple of days. Apparently I had to pay for the previous box.
The boxes were ok, but a few things were crushed in every box I had. I think a bit of packing inside would have been a good idea.
I wasn't really liking most of the stuff do I decided to cancel... website gives you instructions.. but they don't work.. I emailed them it took about a week to reply to tell me someone would contact me, waited 2 weeks no contact.. my only option was to block the payment with my bank.
Avoid !!!

Avoid!!! You can't cancel and they don't reply

I placed a order on 30th January which they took the money out right away with no confirmation email. I tried to cancel my subscription before they renewed it but on the website it kept saying I had to wait 72 hours since I activated my account but by the time I wanted to cancel the subscription it had been 96 hours after my account was active. When they did take the money out for the next month box I get a confirmation email saying I'm getting the January box which I already paid for on the 30th January. I have tried to contact on several different platforms and sent several emails but had no response. I would avoid this company as it causes more stress than what it is worth!!!

Smashed box

Box came smashed which I dont understand. If it only happened to me I get it but loads of people say the same thing. Weird. But cancelled with no problem. Just wanted 1 box and got that. Reply takes longer than usual but they did reply

Doesn’t reply to emails when you have…

Doesn’t reply to emails when you have an issue. I had missing items and tried to email, Facebook message and Instagram message and all were ignored. The social messages were ignored despite the account being active and posting offers!

Also, bit shifty that they’re asking for reviews via social media too trying to get their review score up - here’s an idea, just reply to the people who have issues! That will give you the higher score. People value customer service.

It’s a shame as it’s a fun idea and I wanted to continue but I cancelled because of the lack of reply as to where the missing items were that I paid for. If they’d have replied they would have kept my custom as I didn’t really want to cancel as enjoyed the surprise.

Loved the boxes at first

Loved the boxes at first. I've had 11 in total. Two countries were repeated within this time. However the second countries boxes and products were identical so cancelled. Would love to start again

Snacksuprise first class subscription 👌

Me and my kids absolutely love learning all about different countries.
All of the snacks are tasty and well presented. Having a little taste of worldly destinations keep u excited each month its honestly a real highlight for us we all look out for postman on delivery day and kids always race eachother to the door to collect the parcel. I'm so happy we get snack suprise. 😋 delicious. I always hear lots of giggles from them saying to each other ohhh do you like it. Trying all the different snacks. A real experience for the taste buds and well as the brain for worldwide knowledge. Brilliant 👏

Avoid at all costs - fraudulent with cancellations

Cancellation button is removed by the company (I tried cancelling on the 2nd of the month.)

Contacted to get pending funds reimbursed as the box is still 4 weeks from even shipping - because their dispatch times are so poor. Told that the cancellation button is removed on the 4th and that I could not receive a refund.

Will be taking this further. Extremely poor. Avoid at all costs.

No boxes received and no option to cancel

I have paid for two boxes so far and received none. Their T&Cs (see Membership Cancellation) state you can cancel your subscription at any time via the “My Account” page, however this option is not on there, so this is incorrect and misleading.
I have tried to cancel my subscription via the online contact form and received no acknowledgement.
