The printer is wonderful
The printer is wonderful, the accessories and their delivery timeline is lacking. I'm not happy that my top is delayed almost a year. I am happy to see the support for the community and the pace of updates and communication.

The U1 has been working nearly…
The U1 has been working nearly flawlessly. Any issues I have had were dealt with quickly by the U1 team. I love they are listening to the 3D community and making the necessary changes accordingly.

Very straightforward setup, easy to follow instructions. Didn’t even have to go to the video, the quick start guide was enough. Can’t wait for my first print.

It started off great, I got 3 days of nice prints, now it’s failing more than it successfully prints and LOVES failing 8-10 hours into a print. Who needs to worry about poop waste when you can throw away HOURS of prints every day?! I’ve wasted WAY MORE filament on this printer than my previous flash forge due to the failed prints. Deleting posts in your official group from people who complain about your products and the unavailability of backup parts is the reason the other star was removed. 🤷♀️ I was so incredibly excited for this machine and now I spend more time fighting it than enjoying it.
Edit after having a few incredibly helpful conversations with people in the group:
I apologize for posting the initial review when I was still sleep deprived and grumpy from hours of failed troubleshooting when I should have been sleeping. After upgrading my plate to the glacier plate, tweaking a few settings, and getting rid of some suspected not great cheaper filament, I am back to smooth sailing. I still have a lot to learn and I am much more hopeful at this point that I’ll be able to do so comfortably with my U1.
Hopefully more spare parts will be available soon because it would make me far less nervous when I need to disassemble the toolhead if I knew I had backups!

FANTASTIC when everything's working right!
After waiting for what seemed like forever. I received my U1 in December of 2025 I was very excited. Unboxing and setup was easy because of the fantastic setup manual. I was all set to print within 40 minutes. With the initial calibrations completed I started to print the little dragon. It turned out unbelievably well. I was very impressed. Then I tried to print a file that i downloaded. Not impressed! It would not print as anomaly after anomaly kept showing up. X axis out of range, Y axis out of range, and others. I did everything to correct the errors that I could find. Then I contacted support and sent them some files and unfortunately I had to leave my 3D Printer to go on a holiday...when I returned there were updates of the firmware, software and App, which seemed to solve the errors that I was having, untill the next update and then anomalies started to happen again. I again did everything that the Snapmaker Wiki said to do with no positve results. Contacted support again and sent files of what I was trying to print. Lenard from support sent me the updated Snapmaker U1 system files and after I had them installed everything work again. I believe that the system files must have been corrupted from all the install and uninstall and updates that I did.
Had a problem with my U1 right 3/4 feeder in that the #3 toolhead kept showing a tangled filament or broken filament even though it was not. Contacted support after doing all the Wiki steps and was asked to change the 1/2 feeder with the 3/4 feeder to see if the problem followed the feeders, which it did not. Support sent a new feeder and in 6 days I received the new feeder and was up and printing again. I changed the angle of the touch screen with a mod but when taking off the screen I cut the ribbon cable. Ordered two new screens at a very reasonable price from Snapmaker and four days later I was printing again. Snapmaker Support is the best support team that I have ever dealt with!
This is the second 3D printer that I have owned, the first is a Creality K1 and I have to say that the U1 is FANTASTIC when everything's working right. I also like the monthly updates, shows that the team is striving to get things right for the customers.
Great printer
Great printer, great capabilities and hardly any waste. The shipping was exceptionally fast. Quicker than I expected. And the machine has been running flawlessly ever since.
Poor packaging
I purchased 8 rolls of Snapmaker filament in late March. Half of the order arrived less than a week later, but was packaged in a thin plastic wrap rather than a box. Several of the filament boxes were damaged during transit, but all of the spools were OK. I emailed support,
I finally received the second half of my order today, which was again wrapped in just thin plastic packaging. This time, all of the filament boxes were damaged, and all of the cardboard spools were bent and crushed. I'd prefer not to have to respool all of these because of Snapmaker's poor packaging choices.
Aside from the damage, the filament itself has been problem-free. The new matte colors are really nice too.

Missing parts
My printer was delivered and I unblocked it and started putting it together until I got to the filament tube brackets and they were missing. The printer looks like a really high printer but I can’t use it till I resolve my issue with the brackets

The 3d printer wasn't put togeter right. Needs more 3d prints to print on the app. Needs better instructions.

Great machine and fast shipping
Pretty darn good
Over 200 hours on my U1 already and had it for a tad over a week now. Set up was very straightforward and easy, it did its own auto calibrations and it hasnt stopped since. Quality is fantastic, multicolor prints are flawless. I really hope to see another soon with a bigger bed size hopefully 320x320 at least
