After a Sneeboer that had been gifted me finally broke, I had to get another one plus a new Sneeboer tool to try. Your tools are elegant, comfortable, and a pleasure to use!
The Sneeboer team, mainly composed of family members are internationally renowned by its highest quality, stainless-steel, hand-forged garden tools enjoyed by discerning gardeners. The company, located in Bovenkarspel (North Holland), will celebrate its 110th anniversary in January 2023. The hallmark of Sneeboer is the synergy between new and old. Sneeboer artisans constantly seek new challenges, striving to develop innovative new tools, to improve on those tools that have proven their worth down the centuries and to resurrect tools which have been forgotten about. Skilled master craftsmen use traditional hand-forging techniques to transform new ideas into reality, new markets and modern methods are continually investigated and evaluated. The 4th generation has now taken over the company following the words of Arie Sneeboer who founded the company in 1913: “I know how to improve”. Another famous quote he used to say is: “One who once has held a Sneeboer tool in his hands never wants anything else.”

Thank you sneeboer for giving my engraved and very sentimental to me trowel a second life, my fault, went at a tree root thinking it was a spade and snapped the head off, thought it was now done for but no Sneeboer took it back and have made it as good as new!

My favourite trowels and spades, incredibly strong. Tools for life and for very special gifts. I’ve bought them for friends and family for milestone events in life many times. Much more than just a tool.

All sneeboer weeding hand tools have an inherent fault. They end up twisting on the handle. I've emailed the owner of Sneeboer regarding this but he doesn't want to address the fault. He d rather send out replacements. Therefore they are not a quality tool. Over priced mass produced throw away tools, probably not what the original company set out to be. Unfortunately I purchased 3 weeding hand tools and they are all twisting on the handle. The digging tool are good quality. I give one star as a lack of consistency and quality through the tool range and a lack of action taken over addressing inherent faults.
Regarding Sneeboers response: what you recognise is irrelevant to the facts.
If a tool is made to last it doesn’t break, if it does break it should be fixable, if it is not fixable it is rubbish - a throw away tool. If you spend high end prices on a tool and it breaks, the tool is overpriced. Additionally being handmade has no relevance if the tool is flawed. If you have resolved the issue please tell me how and send me some replacements of the updated tool and I will remove this review if it is currently incorrect…which I doubt..thank you
