Make sure you read the T&Cs carefully
Despite carefully checking the "What equipment do I need" section of the website FAQ, as well as reading through the email instructions sent beforehand, there was absolutely ZERO indication that children under 16 *MUST* wear a helmet in order to ski. After returning home, I checked the T&Cs buried deep in the small print of the website and it does indeed say that kids need the helmets, but it really should have been made clear elsewhere. So upon arrival, I was forced to spend an extra £60 to BUY 4 helmets on the spot otherwise forfeit the ~£200 pounds I spent on lift tickets (I know £15 is cheap for a helmet, but now I'm stuck with 4 crappy helmets that I'll probably never use again). What is so galling is that had I known beforehand, I would have made arrangements to borrow helmets from friends. As for the skiing, it was really quite poor -- the skis and boots they give you are absolutely abysmal - I suspect the skis haven't been re-waxed in decades. I'm a pretty good skier and have been skiing for over 30 years and yet I could barely make it down the hill without being thrown forwards whenever my skis hit even the smallest patch of slightly damp snow. The *only* positive about the whole experience was the friendly and helpful chap behind the ski counter who kindly allowed us to ski a bit longer than our allotted time because we had to waste almost 30 minutes buying the stupid helmets. Overall, it was not a great experience and I can't really recommend it to anyone.
Mask exempt does not apply here
Mask exempt does not apply here. If you cant wear a mask, do not bother trying to book as you will denied access. Try going down a slope with a visor.. Or risk an ambulance trip by wearing a mask. Management won't budge, this is ridiculous. I've waited the whole of lock down and all i said in hospital the past few months was that i wanted to walk again so I can go back to snowboarding and now im being denied access.
First time back on the snow for 40…
First time back on the snow for 40 years (since the school ski trip). Must have squeezed in on one of the last sessions before UK Lockdown No.1. As it was, the receptionist said she'd never seen it so quiet due to the whole Covid thing kicking off. That was great for myself and my daughter though as there were no queues for the drag lifts, the snow was superb with very little ice and within a couple of runs I was once more back to the no-fear skilz of my youth.
Great cafe, great gear and a bloomin' good day with masses of free parking.
Only downside would be the insanity of Milton Keynes endless roundabouts and road planning nonsense!
Can't wait to go back as soon as the Covid nonsense ease up.
Snozone are one of these companies…
Snozone are one of these companies where they are setup to deal with people en-mass, but as soon as a problem comes along then you’re on your own. Even if the problem is their own scheduling. Then they don’t reply to complaints either. Their T&C are quite draconian. Ive used them for years, but it was my partner learning for the first time who hit the problems and I was appalled. It’s a shame because my experience with the instructors has been wonderful, but then they are largely seasonal shift workers.
These problems were from 2-3 years ago now and I haven’t been since because of that. I’m posting now because they came up in conversation and I realised I never followed up on the complaint they ignored.

First time skiing
First time skiing - something I have always wanted to do but been too nervous to try.
I took my children, aged 14, 12 and 8 and we had an amazing time.
Alex was outstanding. So patient and calm. Really enjoyable time and cannot wait to go back for our next level
no goodwill to reschedule
Storm ciara stopped us travelling. Police advised against travelling. This was a Christmas present. Gutted can’t make it after looking forward to it so much. No one answering phones at castleford. Now saying can’t rearrange. Not our fault no goodwill. I would like to speak to a manager
Snowboarding level 1 and 2
Me and my fiancé had a lesson booked for level 1 and 2 snowboarding. Luckily we were the only ones booked on so it was more like a 121 with Tom. It was great, Tom was really patient and diverse as me and my fiancé were different levels to begin with. Would highly recommend, Tom was great!
My first time Skiing
My first time Skiing, didn't have a clue, John made everyone relaxed, Very clear and articulate but funny as well. Gave everyone support and lead to not just a great lesson but also a great experience. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
Snozone fun!
Had a fantastic time with Dai and a small group of beginners today. Excellent tutor and had some really good laughs which took me back to my first experiences on the slopes. My daughter, Maia is still beaming and absolutely loved her time on the MK slopes. Folks if you like the idea of skiing or boarding don’t make any more excuses it’s a great location - just an hour and twenty for us in Kent - and is so much fun with likeminded individuals who will really look after you. I had not skied for two decades so considered myself a newbie again but with some great guidance the confidence returned and hopefully didn’t embarrass myself too much. Thanks Dai, your a star and an absolute gent!
Adam was an absolute legend
Adam was an absolute legend, taught us how to snowboard like it was childs play. Was doing flips in seconds.
Fun and friendly staff
I went for the third time yesterday, I must admit it was my least favourite time. It was very busy, but being January I assume that is the reason why. Both other times I have gone it has been moderately busy so a lot easier to learn and enjoy. Have never been able to fault the coaches or staff members, always polite and friendly. I have been taught by Graham and Ellen now, and they are both great, very patient, and helpful. I would recommend the snozone in Milton Keynes, just maybe in less busy times.
Generally poor
Generally poor. The snow conditions are often very inconsistent, with large ice patches. The ground under the drag lifts are often just carpet rather than snow, and even just wood panelling in places. While it is in a decent location, and it is one of the better places to use “real” snow in the UK, it is a waste of time if you have real mountain experience on skis or a board. Useful only for absolute beginners
GREAT PLACE LOTS OF FUN
SNOWBOARDING LESSON
Had my first ever snowboarding lesson at Sno Zone MK in a small group. I must say i had an amazing time, the coach (Rowan) was awesome, really helpful, really patient and a good laugh. The facilities are great and the prices in the cafe etc weren't as bad as i thought they were going to be.
I would really recommend it to anyone looking to get into skiing or snowboarding.
Sledging up at MK snozone, what a l …
Sledging up at MK snozone, what a load of crap complete waste of time. My 3 year had to climb what seems like Mount Everest to get to the top which was impossible, so I had to carry her and the sledge up the snowy hill 5 times, not fun at all considering there is an escalator on the far side of the slop, coming down on the sledge was about as much fun as watching paint dry knowing you have to walk back up, on the way out I did mention to the front desk a set of stairs might help everyone to get to the top and stop the kids crying,
However given my bad experience if your the type of person that likes a struggle and have good work out then this 45mins would be great fun for you.
Great experience!
Had a fantastic trip to Snozone for my first snowboarding experience. The 1.5 hour session with instructor Graham (plus reindeer hat) was fantastic - he put the group very much at ease, explained everything well and gave us confidence to progress quickly. Would definitely like to go again - highly addictive!
Great Fun!
I love snozone! I've been snowboarding for about a year now and I have been to plenty of tutoring sessions, both private and as a group and I always find the staff friendly and helpful. This is one of very few places I can go snowboarding in the UK so it's good to know that the place is welcoming and friendly. The cafe upstairs serves nice food too.
