I bought a solar V1.6fr and it came in…

I bought a solar V1.6fr and it came in perfect condition and only needed a small neck adjustemt. But other then that its the best guitar that i have ever played for metal. And i work in a guitar store. The pickups Sound really good and the playability is superb. The super jumbo stainless steel frets really gives the guitar a good playability. The fretwork is amazing With zero fretbuss and no sharp ends. Everything is perfect from the Sound and looks to the playability. It also holds Tune almost perfect even when the Floyd rose gets mistreatet. The guitar is What i have been looking for in all the years i have been playing.

Absolutely terrible!

Absolutely terrible!! Avoid at all costs. I just got the Trans purple AB1 6HTPB and it sucks big time. The finish is nothing like the pics or the video where Ola is playing it. It is really hard to find the sweet spot for pinch harmonics no matter how you adjust the saddle height or action via truss rod and worst of all IT DID NOT WORK ON TWO OF THE THREE SLECTOR SWITCH POSITIONS straight out the case which I also foolishly bought with my Solar guitar. It has caused me issue after issue and I actually feel like burning the damn thing. I also paid £181 in import vat to the UK so the guitar cost me about £1000 all in all and I could of bought three better guitars for that price. I hate it and have been playing the guitar for 24 years so trust me when I say don't bother. Save yourself the disappointment and buy another brand otherwise you'll end up as gutted as I am with the whole experience. The guitar still isn't fixed and I have had it for a few weeks now despite taking it to a luthier but I have to wait for solar to reply to my emails and send a new pickup. I can't afford to keep wasting my time and money on the guitar and I genuinely think it should of cost £200 max as it really is that bad.

Don't believe the hype

I've been incredibly disappointed with my solar guitar ever since I opened the box. I bought an A1.6frfb and couldn't wait to get hold of it but I've encountered a list of problems which have left me wanting to put the guitar away for good and massively regret buying it in the first place. First of all the finish was not what I was expecting as the tremolo pad was fitted out of alignment showing a big chunk of untreated wood. The satin finish itself is unbelievably delicate and despite handling the guitar with care it has chipped all over the body and neck in the 2 weeks I've owned it. The trem arm sits loosely in its socket despite being tightened as much as possible.
I've also found that the tuning stability on this guitar is appalling despite being a Floyd rose system.
Finally, the trem didn't come with the silenced springs as advertised.
Based on all of these issues I would highly recommend that you play one of these guitars in person if you are absolutely set on buying.
I'm gutted having spent the best part of £1000 on the guitar and case and then £252 of custom charges to get it into the UK. If it wasn't for the customs charges I would definitely be looking to return it.

I don't recommend Solar Guitars

I don't recommend Solar Guitars. I had an issue right out of the box. The neck frets were not finished cleanly and the finish was worn off. Talked to the contact at Solar and they said it was a neck shrinkage issue and pretty much to bad so said. Very disappointed with spending top dollar ($2000) with exchange rate and shipping to get something that has worse quality then guitars fraction of the price. Alos a company that doesn't stand behind there product. Guitar plays nice and looks pretty. But that experience just put a bad taste in my mouth.

The guitar was lovelly at first

The guitar was lovelly at first, but the neck started to crack with no apparent reason, sent an e-mail with images, havent heard from them ever since. I must say most of their guitars are probably great, but I can't recomend a company I dont trust, a 1300€ guitar isn't cheap by any means, I deeply regret this purchase for the time being and I am deeply disapointed, because their guitar shapes look amazing and I was looking foward to buy a E shape, but I wont bet another 1300€ on a guitar which the neck might crack spontaneosly.

Solar A1.6ATG & Solar A1.6LN

I own a Solar A1.6ATG Baritone & a Solar A1.6LN. They are by far the best guitars I own in terms of playability. They sound amazing. Overall they look incredible. However, there are one or two tiny particles or bubbles in the paint work of the A1.6ATG and the A1.6LN arrived with a black smudge near the selector switch. Whilst I was a little disappointed with these flaws at first. I still love these guitars and I am already thinking about which Solar I'll buy next.

solar guitars are epic.

My solar baritone 6string Aclass is beyond perfection.
I have a prestige Ibanez japan crafted and this solar is as good for less money.

The best feature is the fret polish. Best fret work I have seen for a long time.
*the lightweight ash swamp body is amazing. I’m use to mahogany which is heavy so having a light guitar makes playability longer.

Came very fast considering we was in full lockdown last month.

Fantastic metal guitars!

I have been watching Ola Englund's youtube channel for a while, and became increasingly tempted to check out one of his guitars. I saved up and went for the Solar A1.6 BOP, and I am extremely happy that I did. If you look at the specs of the instrument, it is reasonably priced for all of it's components, but for me this was my most expensive guitar - and I am happy to say it was totally worth it. They did not offer shipping to my country through the website, but after emailing them, they helped find a solution and shipped it straight away. Cannot recommend them enough.
