Poor Quality, No Refund, and Business Now UnregisteredTitle
I purchased a £147.50 medical bracelet from SOS Talisman in November 2024. Within a few months it was badly tarnished and leaving black marks on my skin, despite regular cleaning using proper silver cleaning cloths and products. I contacted the seller well within the 12-month guarantee period.
Instead of acknowledging the issue or offering a refund, the seller refused to accept that anything was wrong. She returned the item only after dismantling and scrubbing it herself — even though I had already cleaned it thoroughly. She then sent me a replacement talisman, which I had not asked for and which didn’t fit.
What’s more concerning is that she later confirmed in writing that she is no longer operating as a registered business, despite continuing to trade and represent the SOS Talisman brand. That means there’s no warranty protection if the issue happens again.
When I raised the matter with Citizens Advice and Trading Standards, her tone became openly hostile. I received dismissive and unprofessional replies, including one message that said:
“I MADE THAT TALISMAN LOOK BRAND NEW. YOU’RE A CUSTOMER I HOPE I NEVER HEAR FROM AGAIN.”
And another:
“You really must be skint.”
This experience has been upsetting and completely unprofessional — especially for a product that’s supposed to support people with medical conditions. I’ve now escalated the issue formally, and I hope others read this before making a purchase.
