Really positive experience - cannot recommend Andres highly enough, he saved our dogs life, called us twice a day to update us and I feel he was as invested in her recovery as we were. All the nurses... See more

After being ripped off by our pet insurance we found ourselves in the dilemma of putting our dog down or raising the money for his operation. We choose to take on the financial burden
Southfields do nothing for free. They are all about the money they have no care for the dogs or their owners. After pleading for a bandage change for free we were declined and charged £160 for a 5 minute bandage change even though we have paid well over £7000 to them for our dog. I have nothing good to say about them now and will be escalating my complaint to the royal college of vets . The people operating this organisation should be truly ashamed of them selves
WARNING! The only thing they care about is money, money, money. I was referred to them by a local vets. They told me it would cost £8-£10,000 and my puppy needed operating on urgently - I had to tell them to put my puppy down - with my children screaming and crying please don’t kill him. I managed to get hold of my local vets and he told me to race my puppy to him. But Southfields refused to release the dying puppy without £900 plus all my insurance documents in hand 3am.
Which I did.
I drove 2 hours round trip and my local vets checked him over but Southfields refused to forward any blood results or scans and these had to be done again at more cost.
In the end the puppy was saved and is an enormous part of our family - total cost £2500!
Southfields then charged an extra £900 - total £1800 fir what?
I tried complaining- appealing mediation !
Always on deaf ears.
Just threars of debt collect or court!
Scammed !!!
I cannot praise Southfield Referrals enough. We took our very sick beloved dog, Barney, to them and although the outcome wasn’t what we wished for, the care and compassion they showed us from the lovely receptionists to the kindest vet, Rui, we will never forget. Thank you to you all for making a heartbreaking evening bearable.
We were recommended southfields form our vets and it was disaster. They wanted 4x the usual cost of a surgery on our dog, £10k instead of £2.5k, and then didn't send over xrays or blood tests when we switched vets. They refused to do a financial ombudsman, and seems like a scam. They made it seem like our dog would likely die when instead he was fine. It was absolutely shocking. The financial extortion.
Totally in it for the money, avoid. Check your local veterinary instead.
I use Southfields vet in Sale Moor 237 Northenden rd M33 2JD It's excellent Practice the staff look after the owners as well as the pets. Looked after 4 dogs from 2006 until present day. These bad reviews are not for sale moor. Ann Healy
This pub is my local and I love it.all the staff and the manager have. The biggest smile on their face all the time.so friendly. The food has always been nice and I’ve never had to complain well done Southfields’s ❤️
This practise are very happy if you have a sick pet, the sicker the pet the more money they can squeeze out of you. They certainly know how to make money out of people's misery.
We were sent to Southfields by our local vet for two of our three golden labradors. Our older little lady had ruptured her rear cruciate knee ligaments after running into a deep hole and one of our puppy labs has elbow dysplasia and he needed to be assessed. After being told that we could take both fur babies under the same appointment we were charged two separate deposits for the same appointment, that’s just the first screw up by these people. Harvey didn’t require surgery and his invoice of over £1800 was sent directly to his insurers, that’s fine not a problem, however with this companies accounting system they decided that they would ask my wife to settle Lola’s bill on one day, despite over half being covered by her insurance and then they asked me on another day to settle the same bill! We refused on both days and had to point out to them where they were wrong. We have now received a bill on the 29th December asking for another £1200+ for an outstanding bill for Harvey as his insurance company have not yet paid, 8 weeks since they sent the invoice to the insurers. Southfields have received over £3600 for Lola’s claim and actually owe me over £700, but won’t give it back because they haven’t had Harvey’s payment! Accounting screw ups and if I’m totally frank, this is just a total scam! When I’m charged over £5600 for Lola and over £1800 for Harvey and the vets try to double charge me because they haven’t received payment from one insurance company I have great difficulty in seeing this without seeing red! I would never use these people again. I’ve used Fitzpatrick’s before and I will go back to them if the need ever arises. Be very careful and check every single bill Southfields give you as they are not capable of working simple maths out.
I feel compelled to write this after my experience with this company. After looking at the website at the time which list all of the services which includes Orthopedics and the top notch surgeons and charge £290 for the appointment only to be told they do not do hip replacements, even after they had looked at the xrays that i had sent them which he admitted he looked at before the appointment, he then went on to tell us what we already knew and that she should not run or do stairs, this is a German Shepard of 4 years old, try and stop her running! The website is very misleading and you should ring beforehand and ask specifically what they can do. I hope anyone who takes their pet gets good service for a member of their family, unfortunately we didn't
The help we received for Gizmo whilst he was a patient at Southfields was impeccable. Humberto was very knowledgeable, understanding and friendly. He was more than helpful when we asked questions about Gizmo’s treatment and aftercare. The only problems we had was the referral information did not provide a price list for surgery, we knew he needed TPLO surgery but understand some people may not have a diagnosis before referral. We also had trouble getting through to Southfields on the phone when we arrived to collect Gizmo after his post operative X-ray but it’s not happened to us before and understand you are all extremely busy. We would recommend Southfield’s and would happily return if needed.
