Terrible experience.

Terrible experience.

Poor communication, unorganised and unprofessional. Won’t use them again.
We were very organised before they arrived, so it should have been A very quick move.

For
Some reason all 4 of them decided it was a 4 man job to shrink wrap 1 sofa for the 1st hour while nothing else was being loaded

2 large luton vans quotes, 1 luton van and a Mercedes sprinter arrived, tried to charge us more because they had to do an extra trip. We refused. Started at 10:15 didn’t finish until
6pm. When the vans were full instead of emptying the1st van and sending it straight back emptied both and left me and the old
House for hours.

Was told they had experienced carpenters, turns out its just a bloke and a tiny tool kit. Who could not disassemble a bunk bed because “it was a really complicated bed”
Ended up doing it myself.

Women on the phone kept interrupting me and was condescending. Email
Communication was bad.

Broken items, chucked things into rooms with no care. Piled things up in the garage with no thought or organisation.

Just a rubbish service from start to finish.

Avoid at all cost

Speedy Shift is easily the worst company I've ever dealt with. I would absolutely never use them again. I booked Speedy Shift for a move based on the high ratings, but going back and actually reading the reviews I found that other people had similar experiences and ran into many of the same issues we faced.

On the day of the move, they were an hour and 40 minutes late and took three times as long as estimated to load our belongings. They also didn't fit everything in the van so we ended up having to go back later and move stuff ourselves. Once they had finished loading the van, they just drove off. They didn't tell us they were done or confirm where they were going, so I had to chase after them to make sure someone was at the new property ready for unloading. When they arrived at the new property, the driver told us they they wouldn't unload our belongings until we had paid the full cost of the move upfront. Nobody had told us this when we made the booking and I've never experienced this with movers previously. He phoned the manager, Kay, and she apologised for not informing us, but said they wouldn't unload without it. In the end, we paid the money before they unloaded. At this point we felt pressured into it and there wasn't much we could do because they already had all of our stuff on the van. I clarified with Kay on the phone exactly what we were paying for -- the move and disassembly and reassembly of our wardrobe. She agreed.

When we made the booking, we clearly stated that we required our wardrobe to be disassembled and reassembled. At no point during the booking process did Speedy Shift or Kay state this would be an issue or not possible. If they had, we would have gone with a different company and avoided this whole mess. When they movers arrived, the driver told us that Speedy Shift didn't do disassembly of flat pack furniture because it may not go back in exactly the same way. After some back and forth, and explaining we had already paid for it, he phoned Kay who eventually got him to disassemble the wardrobe. We accepted that it may not go back together in exactly the same way, but we were not prepared for what followed. The driver took no care in actually disassembling the wardrobe properly. He ripped pieces of it off and smashed bits apart without even bothering to unscrew it. When he was done, he had just left all of the pieces lying around the floor and had even thrown some of them in the bin. Some of the pieces are still missing and others are noticeably damaged.

When we got to the new property, the driver refused to put the wardrobe back together. At this point we had already paid the cost of the move and confirmed with Kay on the phone that this included disassembly and reassembly, but he still refused to reassemble it. We phoned Kay again and she even agreed that we had paid for reassembly, but this time the driver wouldn't listen and eventually slammed the van door in my face and drove off while Kay was still on the phone. Kay was apologetic on the phone and offered compensation for the reassembly (which we had already paid for), but we weren't happy with it. She agreed to call me back the next morning, but never did.

After that I sent some follow up emails, but they never responded to those either. After a couple of weeks, they tried calling once, but I missed it and then they never bothered trying again. I have had to continually chase them up to get into contact. Eventually, I managed to get Kay on the phone. We had a long phonecall in which she argued with me and was dismissive of our issues. Eventually she offered us a higher amount of compensation and we ultimately accepted. They never paid. I sent another follow up email and Speedy Shift responded confirming the date we would receive the compensation. It never appeared. They have since blocked my number and stopped responding to any form of communication. Why bother arguing with me if they had no intention of paying?

The whole experience was an absolute joke. I would avoid Speedy Shift at all cost.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT PERFORM AND RUIN YOUR BELONGINGS

So where do I start? I paid £1400 for a house move which on contract was supposed to be 2 Luton vans, 4 removal ‘professionals’, disassembling and reassembling furniture and removal of TVs which should have been wrapped in bubble wrap. What we got was a move that started 3 hours late, a team of 4 but only 1 was doing the work, they left all my electronics outside in the rain and damaged my units and wardrobes. When I sent pictures of the damage I was told it was my fault for not wrapping all of my furniture and they wasn’t liable… we will see what small claims court thinks of that! They then told me they wasn’t getting my dining table in for me as it wouldn’t fit but when I suggested taking the legs off I was met with a hostile response. My tvs were wrapped in cling film and piled on top of each other. In total the move took over 6 hours to load (2 bed house with 2 adults and a small child) and well over that to unload. If they worked as hard as they chatted then it would have been done in half hour. Then to top it off I messaged the woman ‘Kay’ who was my point of contact in the company for her to accuse me of being racist and taking drugs. Unfortunately the race card will not work here as I have proof of what happened and have documented everything. I come with receipts. As I am not racist or a ‘drug user’ as I was called, I will be fighting this in court. Worst moving experience of my life!

Stay clear of this company

Stay clear of this company
They turned up 1.5 hours late
Broke items on the second van load
Then under quoted me as they only asked for photos on quoting me
So I had to give them another £200 on site
Then the main guy sat in an Audi with other men outside my house whilst the guys finished unloading the van
I’ve been asking for an invoice for over a week
AVOID IF YOU CAN!!!!

I recently moved apartments and more or less everything that could've gone wrong went wrong, everything except the move itself; Lucky and his crew were punctual, friendly and unbelievably efficient, and gave me a great price for the job.
Truly appreciative of how straight forward this service was and would happily recommend them.

Kay gave us a good quote for our house move - better than most we had tried. When the day came Kay and the team were great. Very friendly and helpful and did such a professional job. Stephen is such a clever planner finding just the right next piece of furniture or box to fit in the giant 3D puzzle that is a moving van. The guys were careful carrying all our things and everything arrived the other end in perfect condition. Would recommend this firm to anyone looking to move. Thanks guys.
