The switch to Vocabulary AZ has been…
The switch to Vocabulary AZ has been horrible! I used to LOVE SpellingCity. My students could pick what list they needed to practice, and then they could take their spelling test on it. I could then mass print the tests, and it would show how the students spelled the word incorrectly, and it would give the student the correct spelling along with the score they received. For the new Vocabulary AZ, it is not user friendly for teachers and the spelling report to print for parents does not show how the student spelled the word incorrectly, and it does not give a percentage. Waste of Money!
Horrible since it became Learning A-Z
I loved Spelling City but absolutely hate it since it migrated to Learning A-Z. It's not user friendly, and it claims that words like "potatoes" and "tomatoes" don't exist. I definitely will not be renewing my subscription.
Not even a game.
This game is so bad it cant even be considered a game. This game fricking sucks sooooooooooo much [you need to be premium to play after a lesson.
No. Just no.
this website is so fricking annoying I literally get questions wrong and get a bad grade BECAUSE OF A BUG. Spelling city was actually pretty good before the transfer, but now they switched to kids a-z or whatever and now it's SO BAD. There are all kinds of glitches and all the games that take like an hour to finish all glitch out at the end and it doesn't give you any credit for the assignment. Also, most of the 4-5 star reviews were obviously bots because they were all invited and had names like, "Vocabulary SpellingCity member." Like, who would name themselves that? They were also all responded to by the "Vocabulary SpellingCity Team." Bad website, DO NOT BUY.

Terrible since the transfer to Vocab A-Z!! Is it going to be updated so it is useful again????

I couldn't agree more with all the poor reviews of Learning A-Z (Spelling City now). It is NOT user friendly, they no longer allow more than 15 words per list, and I can't just print or copy a list off. These are lists I have created over several years and I no longer have easy access to them even though I pay for premium. The new features also have glitches. My one student couldn't get past an assignment (it never gives him credit) so he can't take the spelling test. I called and after talking with someone and being placed on hold for 45 minutes, my call was disconnected and my problem unresolved. One week, ABC order was not ABC order, it was some other game. They should've stayed with what worked (Spelling City).

I LOVED using Spelling City with my students BEFORE it became Learning A to Z. Since the switch, it's GARBAGE. I will not resubscribe, and honestly - I'd love my money back for the remainder of the year with this new site. My students hate it and so do I.
This used to be an awesome site
This used to be an awesome site. As an Orton-Gillingham instructor and special education teacher I loved using this site to teach my students spelling and to build their vocabulary. I loved being able to import other teacher's lists and creating my own. It had evertying, it was user friendly, and the kids loved it! Yesterday, we were transferred to vocabulary A-Z which has turned into a fiasco! Now there are all kinds of issues even with our Raz kids subscription. What a huge failure and disappointment. This is not what we signed up for and paid a year's subscription for. Why did they do this?
Completely useless since the change!
I loved this site until they changed to Vocabulary A-Z. Now, it is useless to me in the classroom. Even if they hadn’t taken most of the spelling practice capabilities out, it would still be a nightmare because of all of the glitches and lags.
spelling city is SOOO useless
this suck like come on you have to say it is if spelling city was not a thing I would party all month and well it is a thing right now and I hate it I would make me and the boys if the spelling city was not a thing
bruh
this. sucks. the voices suck and theres a scam that says: A message to my students and their parents:
Students & Parents,
You should study using this great teaching resource. SpellingCity makes learning your word lists fun and easy.
My teacher did NOT write that. I saw on another comment that it said this same thing. They're just trying to make money, and this is a bad way to convince people to use it. this sucks.
its glitchy laggy slow and not good
Waste of Money!
I paid for a premium membership, and until the switch I loved the fact that I could assign specific games from my lists or have students explore games on their own. Now, it is a total waste. I will not use this website again.
My student used this website daily…
My student used this website daily before the switch. Not useful anymore. Will look for alternative learning program now.
Waste of money since switch
Since the migration to Vocabulary A-Z... what I paid for is useless because I won't be using this new site. It is not what I paid for as Spelling City worked great for my child with homeschooling and I was creating our own lists and testing her using those and all my lists are GONE! I was told they would move over when switch happened... but nope they did not. I am hoping to be able to get most my money back since I did pay for year membership and only purchased in November but will not be using Vocabulary A-Z. Hope to find another spelling program that will work great for my child and going to attempt getting my money back!!!
Less than one star
Less than one star? Ugh! After the migration to vocabulary.com, this website is less than useless. I know that some of the games sucked and took forever. As a teacher, I just didn't assign those and only assigned the better games. I did like the overall way that the site was set up. The new one is trash.
Very unhappy with Site Change
Very unhappy with Vocabularya-z.com and Spelling City since the migration to VocabularyA-Z.com. I was told our spelling lists would transfer over to the new site. NONE of my children's self-created lists were transferred to the new site. When we tried to login to Spelling City to self-transfer them, they were no longer available. We were reassured that all our lists would be saved. They apparently could care less about independent work done by students and only migrated teacher lists. All student created lists are gone with no way to recover them. I want my money back for the remainder of our premium membership period. I do NOT recommend this site for homeschoolers.
Spelling City is useless
This game is useless, it makes kids work hours a day and even 4th graders have to play this, when it's LITERALLY kindergarten level. This app doesn't even help you, They have the same activities every day and it makes the game look useless, because kids need to learn NEW stuff, not just the same old boring stuff. The games are also terrible, like Letter-Fall takes 45 damn minutes to finish and I'm wasting my time on a Kindergarten game. Like, seriously! this game makes
I-Ready look charming! this animation is terrible, and they try to make Letter Fall, and Aim 2 Spell look good, but you can't even lose in the games! you have to lose sometime, because it's what makes it look fun. Overall Spelling City is a very useless game, do not give this to your kids.
Edit: Also the fact that at the end they say "You did good on your first try!" IT WASN'T YOUR FIRST TRY! YOU DO IT EVERY DAY AND THEY REPEAT IT! THIS GAME IS FRICKING LAZY.
Stop hating!
I like this website I don't know people are hating on it because there's nothing wrong with it. You guys are probably just mad because you can't spell no offense. I mean it's kinda rushed not gonna lie and the words are easy but, it's made for like 3rd graders. So that explains it and I think it's okay it's not the best but, at least they tried.
