I ordered a game that was out of print where I live in Canada, and I was able to order it from Spirit Games internationally. The game arrived expediently for the holiday period and was carefully packaged.

This games company has been going for many years, specialising in face-to-face games: role playing games, wargames, boardgames, story telling games, card & dice games of all sorts, and even traditional games (such as chess). No video games here!

The staff & owners are friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about the gaming world and products.

They have recently closed their physical shop, due to Covid and the landlord selling the premises, and have now moved to a purely online mail-order business. They still take orders over the phone, and do "click and collect" when people prefer to do that. I have used their mail-ordering service many times in the past, so the only difference now is that customers cannot walk into a physical shop to browse.

I've been looking for a copy of Diamant online.
Due to low stock numbers, some retailers were increasing the price by over double.
I found Spirit Games and decided to give them a try.

Excellent price for the game and they were very quick to respond when I contacted them via email regarding a deliver address query.

I ordered the game on the 6th July (they were closed due to reduced covid-19 hours) and I've just received it (8th July).

I purchased a difficult to find expansion for the Heroes of Normandie system from Spirit Games and was delighted with their service. I ordered while they were attending the Games Convention at the NEC, but my purchase was dispatched the moment that they got back! It was well packed and arrived in perfect condition. I would happily recommend Spirit Games.

Spirit Games in Burton upon Trent is just ... AWESOME! Not only are they field experts in the areas of table top board and card gaming but they have been so since 1984. That is an achievement for a bricks and mortar shop of this genre in this age of e-tailing but one only has to walk in to find the secret of it's success IMHO. It's a family shop - so much so the Wife loves visiting there with me run by expert staff with a wide knowledge encompassing everything from war gaming contacts to the best way to paint and fix a gaming piece. On their website the stock levels are live and whatever your needs the staff will endeavour to get hold of items or supply knowledge for you. This shop really is the Eighth Wonder of The World to gamers of all genres and the Wife and I shop there regularly for the Ares Games table-topper Wings of Glory.

I have recently become interested in boardgames and despite my lack of experience and the fact that the variety of games is overwhelming I managed to walk out of the shop with a game I really enjoyed. Since then I have bought many more games from there and often refer my friends to visit.

I first visited the shop over 15 years ago. It was nearly closing time. I was buying games for work. Phil was serving me, we just chatted games, never once did he rush me and i was there for about an extra hour. I love that all of those involved with Spirit love playing board games. They are passionate about what they sell and this comes across. The shop is quirky with corridors to extra rooms of joy, things are stacked high and you feel part of a different age. It makes buying your game part of the experience. I now help run Derby on Board games and Spirit will always support our events with publicity and attending them. They even run their own legendary board gaming weekend Beer and Pretzels. That is how much they love board games. If we want shops as great as Spirit to survive we must support and use them.

My husband and I came into the shop in late November looking for games for our two gamer sons. We left with a long list for which we then read reviews on line. My husband returned the following day and purchased Ticket to Ride UK, Pi mal Pflaumen, Patchwork x 2 and Castle Panic. All were enthusiastically received on Christmas day. I would just like to say a big thank you for all your advice.
