My train was cancelled due to Storm Amy on October 4th.
On October 5th I contacted Split My Fare by email and received a very kind email from Richie the same day advising that my fare of £27.20 would be refunded.
On October 6 the full refund landed in my account!
It’s an absolutely amazing service which I wouldn’t have received from any train operating company and would have involved a complicated process of completing online forms.

These guys offer excellent and prompt customer support as well a good train rates. I was pleased to get a refund (minus processing fee) on the same journey but a day earlier. The big train companies wouldn't offer that usually !

I have been using this site for the past 2 years and have made bookings every month. Their algorithm for making savings is as good as it gets. More importantly they are very accommodating in terms of a refund if you make a mistake in the booking. They also have a very customer sympathetic process of allowing a change to an advance ticket for a very modest change fee. What stands out is that the customer service is exemplary. Others have mentioned Richie as a shing example of what an online company should aim for in responding to customer questions. Over, the past 24 months, because of changes I have sought to bookings, I have had at least 8 contacts, and each time I have had a rapid, totally acceptable and personal response from Richie. I’ve stopped booking with the train operating companies and big players like Trainline as their service just does not compare!

I had never previously used split my fare but after this experience I would recommend using this for long distance journeys to everyone. I unfortunately had a change in my plans and had to change my return journey time but was unsure at first how to do so.
I emailed the support team and emailed back and forth with an excellent member of the team called Richie who was very helpful, prompt in responding and informative and I was able to make the necessary adjustments by rebooking and alternative return journey and receiving a refund on the original return journey minus a £5 admin fee that was made known at the start of the interaction with no other hidden fees.
Richie's high level of customer is exactly what I as a former customer service worker would hope all staff members no matter the industry strive for

Found out I’d accidentally booked wrong time. Was advised amendment would be £5max which was expensive for what should be a free service when booking tickets in advance but at least it was expected. They actually kept £6.35 which is 13.5% of the ticket cost. Unhelpful customer service rep Richie explained the hidden charge was a share of my savings! Saved nothing, gained a headache. Better off booking on the day with the friendly people in the ticket office. Would recommend avoiding.

I booked tickets and stupidly selected wrong return date. Contacted company and they responded within the hour and subsequently resolved it by refunding me so that I could rebook. No issues whatsoever. Thank you

Cheaper tickets and a great customer service.
I didn’t receive a confirmation when I purchased my ticket, as there was an issue with my email.
I emailed them explaining the issue and a guy called Richie got back within minutes and resolved the problem.
I will always use ‘splitmyfare’.

Just superb customer services when the mistake was our own! Special mention to Richie who replied to a late night email at just after 8am the next morning! The train company cancelled part of my journey. I was unable to book a suitable alternative therefore requested a full refund. The online form did not work for some reason therefore I emailed Split My Fare. A response was forthcoming within an hour and the matter was sorted out over a couple of emails.
Very quick and efficient service. It is rare, these days, to receive such excellent customer service.

After a panic in bed at midnight thinking- I can’t remember seeing my tickets, and searching through my emails I could not find my confirmation of booking to Edinburgh for me and a friend from two months ago… In a panic I emailed customer service giving what info I had- by 7.58am THE TICKETS WERE IN MY INBOX! I’m sure they must have been automatically deleted from my junk originally.
Richie you absolute gem!!! Cannot thank you enough and now me and my friend who are very in need of this trip to Edinburgh for Fringe can relax!!!

First time user, saved myself £29 on my journey with Split My Fare.
I had made a mistake when ordering tickets and sent to wrong email address.
Purchased Saturday evening and raised the issue via email Sunday morning, had a swift response from Richie regarding the wrong email given, within the hour Richie had issued e-tickets to correct email with confirmation.
Brilliant customer service from Richie especially with it being a Sunday!

I have now used Split My Fare on a number of occasions and have always found that I have saved using their site as compared to other ticket sales sites. Recently I had an issue with a lost ticket which I later found and a refund was organised by Richie giving great customer service.

I ordered tickets that were never received. When this was raised, I received really poor and condescending customer service from Richie (Customer Service) and Pete (Founder). Adament on blaiming the consumer for their failings. The issue has needed to be escalated to a third party to be resolved at the cost of my time. Will never use this service again and would not recommend it to anyone.
