Sexual Harassment Ignored.

As many of us women know, we are constantly stared, stalked and sexualised at gyms. But, with gyms that promote safe guarding of their customers they know to raise awareness and to make sure that we are safe.

Ruxley Lane Sports Direct manager tells me to “take it as a compliment” when his staff and members are plotting and describing sexual natured conversations about women. And by women, I mean myself.

I mentioned how this triggered my past traumas of sexual harassment, and that I wanted an outcome of the member being warned or cancelled membership and he never got back to me, my brother or my dad who emailed in as they were concerned for my welfare as I hadn’t left the house or attended back at the gym.

Verbal harassment of a sexual nature, including jokes referring to sexual acts or sexual orientation - RAINN

Please ladies, speak up about things like this. You are not “overreacting” and it’s considered as a SEXUAL HARASSMENT. Do not let these men fool you.

Stay away from this place and never use them.

Warning to all about the Sports Direct Gym in Lincoln.
Well an update really for you. Since March lockdown started membership was frozen which was good, but then when I replied to their second email for freezing again I emailed immediately. Well this time I got charged for two months, so spent time and energy after working (NHS worker) to sort it with them and their head office. Everyone is rude and unhelpful. In the end I claimed monies back from bank through an indemnity. Done this and it didn't take as long as they said 8-10 weeks, so definitely recommend this and cancel your membership. To cancel though is 3 months notice, so I have pad for three months, but said I go back when I feel safe. Only head office can do anything with your membership though. Ensure you get email confirmation too of what has been agreed. Don't give them your debit details and pay by credit card as you get monies back immediately if all goes wrong. Good luck everyone.

Worst customer support team I have ever seen!!

I have ordered a treadmill on 25th of Nov which was supposed to be available on 4th of Dec and deliver few days after.
I have called customer service 10s of times, no answer!! I sent them 10s of emails and just got an answer once that the item will be available on 18th and deliver few days after. Nothing happened on 18th and few days later so far!
I got an email today, 29th of Dec, that my order has been cancelled as no longer in stock !!
If you didn't have the item in stock why you are wasting your customers time?
How is running this company?
They don't deserve even one star!!

The Lowest of the Low

I have been a member of DW Sports Fitness since 2011 without any issues at all. Each year I would renew my membership and pay upfront. When Everlast Fitness took over, I contacted them to confirm that my annual membership was still valid with them and they wrote back to me on 14th October to confirm that it was and that my membership was valid until 11th September 2021 (10 months still remaining). On 16th November I received an email to advise that my site was closing permanently and as an annual member I could either transfer to Sports Direct Fitness on Rose Lane or request a refund. I immediately followed their suggested process to obtain a refund. Since sending my email I have received no acknowledgment and no updates on progress. I have emailed numerous times with no response at all. I have tried calling the membership team who advise they will get back to me but never do and I’m just going round in circles. The lack of respect they have for their customers is unbelievable and I would not recommend or encourage anyone to join their facilities, ever. Absolute joke of a company.

I have tried to cancel my membership…

I have tried to cancel my membership for a year. I moved out of the area and was advised that I can only cancel in club. Then with COVID I thought surely there is another way.... Submitted emails to every email I can find.... Still no response, still no cancellation. Wasted £240.00 on this terrible company.

Simply the worst!

If there was an option to award zero or even a minus, I would have selected it as this company is diabolical. My husband and I cancelled our membership way back in May and have emails to prove it, yet still they think it’s appropriate to chase and attempt to restart direct debits that have been cancelled etc. We do not even live in the area! I have attempted to make contact using all avenues available, with zero success. I know a friend who is still a member but is also going to leave because it is impossible to book the classes as they do not pick up the phone. It just amazes me that anyone can even call this a business. It is the worst gym I have ever come across.

Totally useless.

Running theme of people struggling to cancel their account, you would think they would do something about it.
It’s a shame as I really like this gym but they charged me over lock down and then after I called and called with no answer I had to go down to the gym to try and speak to someone. No shock there was a lady at the desk sat there ignoring all the incoming calls and I was waiting over ten mins to speak to someone so I had to leave when I finally cancled my account about three months ago, I have just realised they have continued to charge me anyway!! Are they even open this month? Who knowsssss. Just been sat on the phone half an hour ringing and ringing again. No answer. Useless.

You've got to be taking the biscuit…

You've got to be taking the biscuit with this one:

I've been trying to cancel ever since the take over from DW Fitness and finally got this response:

I can confirm that your cancellation request has been actioned and your final payment will be collected on or just after 1St April 2021.

What an absolute joke surly they can not just force me to stay that long. PS the 5 star reviews are all people who work for the company LOL

Everlast Fitness (Sport Direct Fitness) - Shabby Experience

I was a DW Sports gym member who got transferred over to Everlast Fitness in the recent takeover.

I too have similar frustrations with cancelling my gym membership with Everlast Fitness. In early October, I emailed their membership department to give cancellation notice. When I got no response, I then emailed the manager of my local branch who advised that I should cancel via their website. I followed this advice and soon enough, I got a standard response acknowledging my cancellation with a promise of an update once they have processed my request. To date, I have no further response.

I also noticed that they have recently started taking money from my bank equivalent to one month’s subscription without any warning. Alarm bells are now ringing and I have cancelled my direct debit. I do not trust this company any longer.

With my original DW Sports membership, I have completed my initial 12 month contract earlier this year and I am now on a rolling 1 month contract. Ideally, a confirmation from Everlast would clear matters.

The Covid19 pandemic has created difficulties for many people and businesses, including myself, and I don’t really need the extra stress dealing with Everlast Fitness. Hopefully, this Company will do the right thing soon and redeem itself.

No responses to cancellation email requests

I have emailed the Everlast fitness email address 3 times to cancel my gym membership. I received one response advising I would receive a confirmation email to confirm the account has been cancelled. I have not received any confirmation emails nor have I received any responses to my other emails chasing for an update. I understand we are in a pandemic but emails cannot just be ignored and their money still being taken?! Awful customer service don't take over a company if you cannot get your responses to customers in order.

Awful!

Awful!! I froze my account before lockdown due to a medical condition. When they took over the gym I tried to get into contact with them by calling the gym which no one answered (this happened every time I called) I then emailed 3 TIMES about cancelling my membership in which NO ONE replied. I then was charged £30 a couple days ago for the membership! I want to leave but can’t get through to anyone! I haven’t used this gym in 9 months! Do not use!

After lockdown when the gyms reopened

After lockdown when the gyms reopened, you had to book to use the gym/pool. The online booking system did not work for me. After numerous calls back and forth between gyms and sports direct head office, they eventually agreed to cancel my membership. However they insisted on a 3 month notice period (which was not in my original contract). So I was forced to pay for 3 months membership for something I couldn't use. They refused to offer me any form of refund or compensation, and basically implied I was lying about the whole situation despite the gym staff telling them otherwise. DO NOT USE THIS GYM! The staff at the gym are brilliant but if you decide to cancel, do not expect it to be met kindly.

I froze my payment due to Covid

I froze my payment due to Covid, have desperately been trying to set it up again and pay any arrears, been chasing them for 3 months now ( and worried about it defaulting now). Reception in Hove have no way of contacting Head office, they never answer even to them. I have emailed and asked Hove to email..no replies its appalling. I'm going to take legal action soon.

Parking fines disgrace

Well it tops it off, install a parking system from a keyboard that didn’t work on 10th & 11th. Subsequently I receive a £100 fine I have no intention to pay. You speak to Julie who says call this number knowing they don’t deal with challenges over the phone and everything is in writing and not via email, with her smug face behind her mask.Who writes letters nowadays!! Well done sports direct for peeing off loyal customers as I know I was not the only one having issues with the unit. And don’t get me started on the cleanliness or lack of in this club.. head office should take a visit. No wonder so many have left.

Awful Company

Hi, I froze my membership due to COVID and my health conditions - then tried to call several times over 6 times to say i would like to freeze/cancel my membership for the time being, also DW were being taken over by Sports Direct Fitness. Everytime I have phoned I have not been able to speak to someone - this is all different times of the day/evening. No response - but are now chasing me for money???

Sports Direct Debit Unauthorised Payment

Hi, just to inform people here, I claimed back the £30.00 taken from my bank on 1 Oct. Barclays paid the money back into my account, but they did say, even though the DD was already cancelled, they could still set up another one, so I'll have to wait and see. I was also on frozen membership with DW Fitness. I have informed Sports Direct Fitness of my actions as advised by the bank to do so. The only replies I have received from SD are standard replies saying someone will contact you soon.
