Totally ridiculous amount of people in…
Totally ridiculous amount of people in the gym tonight!
They obviously don't care much about social distancing!!
I tried to cancel my gym membership as…
I tried to cancel my gym membership as there is a pandemic going on, money was still coming out of my account for gym. I received an email a month later (after another 25 pounds roughly payment coming out) stating that my gym membership will remain open until the contract ends in december 2021?
I had to cancel the direct debit through my bank, and lost maybe 50 pounds before i managed to remove the Direct debit.
Also i can't get a refund for the 50 pounds from my bank or Sports Direct.
Not worth the monthly spend anymore
No communication about what was happening with monthly payments being frozen during the pandemic, unclear 3 month notice messaging for cancellations, and an online booking system which does not work (and this is both website and app).
Way too overpriced at the moment, given these friction points which now make gyms unappealing post-lockdown.
There's no visibility on how busy the gym slots you're booking are, and the booking system is incredible glitchy.
This said, the actual gym staff are so helpful and lovely. But customer service sounds clueless, and the individual gyms have had this horrendous online system foisted on them to content with. Every other gym has an online booking system that at least looks like it was built after the year 2010. Can't say the same for Everlast. There's also no way to review your account or membership, and the terms and conditions are honestly a slog to read through, in order to find out how to quit!
Makes it unreasonably difficult to cancel.
The gym itself was good but absolutely zero response from repeated attempts to contact customer service for months.
Many other equally good gyms in the area that also have 21st century websites that allow you to easily review your account and cancel online.
Instead they have a website which lacks a contact phone number, a contact form which doesn't give you a 'cancel' option, and a cancellation email address that is simply ignored for months.

If there was less than a start I'd give it.
The gym staff in Glasgow site are great and totally sympathetic, however the head office staff are rude and have no customer service skills, nothing ever delivered as promised. Cancelled an account 4 years ago with the cooling off, went in today to see about rejoining and aparantly no record of my notice to leave (asked if I had a voice recording ) couldn't tell me why they have never chased it in the 4 years. STAY AWAY.
impossible to cancel membership
The gym itself is amazing, however I am absolutely appalled by how the head office has handled opening back up after lockdown. I tried to cancel my membership as soon as they gyms reopened, and since nothing came out of my account in august and the direct debit wasn't showing up on my bank account, I thought it had been cancelled, only for money to come out of my account on the first of September without any of my cancellation requests being responded to and no notice that they were going to be taking any money. Guarantee that if I cancel my direct debit through my account I will hear from them straight away. my club can't do anything and there is no way to contact head office except through a form that gets ignored.
Called in to cancel my contract 3 girls…
Called in to cancel my contract 3 girls sitting behind the desk said it had to be done online when i questioned if they could help it was a flat no and on leaving after a long wasted journey all I could hear was all 3 girls having a good old laugh at my expense. This was Rugby and my advice would be stay well clear rude staff and dirty gym
Utter rubbish customer service!
Trying to cancel my membership and have emailed and called 17 times. Cannot get a reply. Its not the gym, their ok but head office is awful. The gym cannot assist sadly. I will not be joining this gym ever again after this experience sadly. Do not join in the first place is my advice!!!!
STAY AWAY
I tried to end my contract in May due to relocation, I received confirmation of my request yet at a later date they have decided that despite outlining why I wanted to leave and going through all the formal cancellation procedures that said they will charge me an extra months notice period. Not particularly clean either! I would advise to stay away if possible. The staff on site however are very friendly it's a shame that their upper management are unhelpful.
They won't give refund despite not…
They won't give refund despite not being open for months, and giving plenty of notice. They only let you leave after 3 payments notice. Their gyms are v poor and unhygienic anyway. Best stay away.
Very poor company to deal with
Very poor company to deal with
They have a reputation to be hard to cancel and they’re living up to it.
They Have had the Notice period but they only want a notice period where they’ve had money from their customers.
Then they offer to let me stay after this
Try and cancel and they come out fighting!
Strangely other people I know have been allowed to cancel or have they not got to them on the list yet?
A nightmare to contact anyone.
A nightmare to contact anyone to cancel membership, no contact phone numbers available only messaging, and they take such a long time to reply. I still have no idea when I will be out of my contract and can forget about this place.
I don't think they take customer service seriously, I would not recommend them to anyone, and I will be using alternatives in the future.
THE WORST
Yep i fell for all that spill.
when joining i explained i was only in area for 6 month no problem they said just give months notice before you leave area as yo can cancel if you move.
I gave 6 weeks notice handed over to reception .when i left i cancelled dd
They say they never received my notice and insisted i pay another months payment . Be aware you have to have moved out of area before you give notice meaning you pay an extra month for nothing .
customer service nil
Awful company to deal with.
Awful company to deal with.
We ordered a trampoline, we received half a trampoline and half a TP tree house. You can't contact by phone just on line. By the time I got an answer the missing parts had disappeared from their wharehouse, they would not action a refund until they had received the goods back and it took them a month to arrange to collect. It was as though we were at fault!
Rip off firm.
Rip off firm.
You will regret when it comes to cancelling.
They lie when you join about how easy it is to cancel.
I have been trying to cancel, now they tell me i have to full fill 6 month minimum then after 6 months I have to give further 3 months notice.
Then they carry on taking direct debit even after closure.
Rip off.
scamming cancellation policies need to be halted
I am another to have been taken in by their scamming cancellation policy. The gym owner/ employees promise you membership and no mention of termination fees then leave it to their Shirebrook follow up team to make life hell with harassing emails weekly thereafter and constant threats of escalating costs. I would be very interested to hear from anyone that has taken this shower to court, this sort of harassing practice needs to be ended once and for all
Not recommend
Not recommend, manager in Newark sports Direct realy not helpfull, had a contract for 20 £ a month, then decided to go to other gym because it was cheaper in there, asked to cancel my contract, the reason of leaving was high price, they offered me a 10£ plan i agreed with it, got a call few days after and they said they cant accept my new contract for 10£ as i am not working in Know How, shame i said and decided leave anyway, asked manager to help me fill the leaving form, but he was ignoring me saying he is bussy, said do it my myself on theyr broken computer, realy bad customer service in there, because of that i didnt go 3 last months i had paid.
Terrible disgusting company DO NOT JOIN…
Terrible disgusting company DO NOT JOIN GYM AT ALL COST. Sadly in August 2018 we made a mistake by joining our elderly retired mother who has a lot of health problems so she can get some light walking exercise. Unfortunately she fell seriously ill with chronic rheumatoid arthritis from November 2018 and had been bed ridden and housebound with chronic pain and on lots more medication. January 2020 we've come to conclusion that mum will never be able to go back to the gym even after all the hospital treatment as she is too ill. All membership payments were made up to date. However upon requesting to cancel the membership SD are demanding a 3 month notice period after 17 months of membership even in these circumstances. Simply don't care attitude. They say they make exceptions but these are all lies. None of my family and friends will ever use SportsDirect Fitness ever again. I will also let everyone know on Social Media of this companies disgusting behaviour. Avoid.
Redundancy, they will still take your cash!
So... after being made redundant, I have had to cancel my membership, they still want 3 months after cancellation, whats the point letting them know that I have been made redundant, there’s no benefit. I would have rejoined once sorted, but not now...
Do NOT join sports direct!!!
This is a terrible company! They entice you with fairly low rates but the gyms are old and shabby; with poor equipment and hygiene. Then when you try to leave they give you a one calendar month clause so even if you give a months notice and it’s not from the 31... they will charge you extra 4 months instead of 3. Please... do not join this gym! They have no morality and will not see kindness or reason; just a way to extract as much money as possible! Terrible terrible terrible!
