We had an emergency situation
We had an emergency situation, so somebody suggested starting a gofundme.I did, they were going to make us wait a week, and take a lot of fees. I found spot fund, it was as easy as putting down what happened, link bank account and done.

Great news – our platform is always 0%. As you noted, credit card processors will always deduct the standard 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction. These fees are removed before the funds reach us - we then distribute the entirety of funds raised to folks like yourself.
Please note, credit/debit card processing fees are an unavoidable reality when accepting payments online and are present across all fundraising platforms worldwide. It is important to note you are not losing out on funds you would have been able to receive elsewhere :)

I like that I was able to sweep money from the fundraiser to the account as often as I needed to. When you're in dire need it's good to be able to do that. I don't like the asking for a tip when they're taking a fee anyway, it just made me a little uncomfortable like I felt bad .....but at the same time we need every bit of it

Access and Operation Easy
So far the access and operation of using spotfund has been effortless. I appreciate being able to use this platform to receive much needed donations for help during a difficult cancer diagnosis and treaments.

I highly recommend Spotfund
Pros:
-Overall, easy to use
-Can link each campaign to a different bank account (if you want).
-Payout is by request and arrives quickly.
-Great transparency, fees are shown in payout.
Cons:
-Setting up the cover photo and adding photos to my story were a bit glitchy.
-Can't link PayPal.
-No monthly option for donors.
I prefer Spotfund to GoFundMe and Chuffed.
Edit 2/21/26:
Updated review to reflect 5-star experience. Maria reached out to me to address my concerns. She enabled monthly donations on my campaigns and they've addressed the photo glitchiness I mentioned.
I was a little worried because they recently added payouts through Stripe, but it was seamless and didn't entail navigating through Stripe's Byzantine platform. And, now we are able to get same-day payouts! This alone makes Spotfund > Chuffed and GFM. I highly recommend Spotfund.
