SpotOn GPS Fence gives dogs the freedom to roam and owners the confidence that comes with truly reliable containment. Designed, engineered, and supported in the USA, SpotOn is the original GPS-powered virtual dog fence and continues to set the standard for accuracy, reliability, and performance. At the core of SpotOn is patented True Location™ GPS technology, which corrects for common GPS issues like drift and signal interference. With the launch of the new Nova Edition, that technology takes a major leap forward—leveraging best-in-class hardware, industry-leading accuracy, and all-new smart features to deliver even more consistent containment in real-world conditions, based on over 5 million hours of real-world dog movement data. Using the SpotOn app, you can create custom fences in minutes—no wires, no digging, no maintenance, and no subscription. Set boundaries as small as 1/3-acre or as vast as you need, even in remote areas with heavy tree cover. As your dog approaches a boundary, the collar delivers clear, fair alerts through tones and vibration that trigger precisely when they should. You can also track your dog’s location in real time, right from your phone. Backed by real human support, SpotOn is built for people who want dependable technology, thoughtful training support, and freedom that works in the real world.

The SpotOn Nova collar is the best purchase I could have made for my dog. I did their recommended training, and it works! My dog will not cross the fence line, and I no longer have to worry about her going onto the busy road in front of our house. The app makes creating the fence easy and so is tracking her. I did have a bit of a learning curve about the home zone. I made the zone and had her inside the house for a short time with her collar on. She got corrected inside the house. She was frantic and so was I. After calling their wonderful tech support (they are awesome!!), I learned that metal roofs affect the gps communication but making the zone larger helps to counteract that, and the problem hasn’t recurred. I definitely recommend this collar and company to anyone who wants to keep their dog safe and off leash.

Because my yard is narrow I could not get the fence dialed in. Customer service was very helpful and helped me get a speedy return. It’s an awesome product, my yard is just too small

We have for nearly 2 years. Since about 1/2 year our dog doesn’t like to take and if he just stays close to our home. We have 1.2 acres plus use portion of our two neighbors properties. The electronic borders are considering this.
The collar is And was always on the lowest level. Yes our dog crossed the borders when hunting squirrels, rabbits or other animals like cats and dogs.
I wouldn’t recommend any GPS fence anymore.
After I red the an answer from SpotOn my conclusion still stands.

SpotOn Customer Service was great in replacing a collar that started having glitches in its 3 zone warning system.
Replaced with same collar.

Like tracking however the gps spends more time searching than signaling allow dogs on chase to leave fence perimeter. Have emailed with no reply to a fix other than training.

We were very apprehensive at first because Spot On was the most expensive on the market…but since they guarantee 100% money back if your pup isn’t successful..we went for it! We have 2 Great Pyrenees guardian pups that were currently in training (by us) when we decided to purchase since they would leave the property on a daily basis!!! Ugh 😑 So many sleepless nights and so much time trying to get them to COME BACK to our 30 acres…they wanted to go explore all our neighbors farmland as well. 😒 So, while it did take TIME AND EFFORT (using the same training we were doing with the other collars) with the Spot On collars, we are happy to report that as of today they have not left the Perimeter fence in 2weeks!!! 2.5 weeks ago Max went into the woods next to our property for just a few mins but bc his sister Ginger chose not to risk the zap…he came right back! Yay!! 😊 We love the ability to change a fence at anytime and make new fences…right when they hear the alert sound they turn around! It’s only been 2 weeks of success but we can now relax a bit more when we head to the store or leave for a few hours. We still work with them and can’t fully trust them yet…but as you know with this breed it is a constant “work in progress “. 😅. Thanks Spot On! We hope it continues to be a successful tool in our training! ❤️

The company seems fine. Support was good and the product was well built and had good instructions. I liked the design, battery life, etc. However, I live on a lake, surrounded by large trees and on a hill. The "reflections" (I assume) were so bad that there were holes in my virtual fence. I tested and walked right through in several places with no notification on the collar. On flat land with less trees it worked well. But obviously, any hole is a problem so I ultimately could not use it.
A few other minor issues I had were:
- Mobile app would alarm and not stop. Had to restart the app to stop it.
- Mobile app wouldn't update the collar when I had no cell signal. I tried this system because of a lack of cell signal.
Additional notes: I tried several times to redraw the map, changing where the line was. No matter what I tried, I always found a hole when testing. I ultimately had to go with an "invisible fence" type system.

When the collar works, it works very well, however there are times when it doesn't work. I was having trouble from time to time with things such as not going off at all at the boundaries or going off at first then after 30 minuets or so not going off, however it was still on and charged. Also twice my dog would come back to me in the middle of the fence and his collar would be beeping continuously and the only way to stop it was to turn it off and back on.
After these issues I made sure that the collar was charged before using, I would use the app to turn the fence off then back on and load it to the collar every time before I used it, but the above issues continue. I guess the most frustrating issue is that it starts out working but later, sometimes the dog will just walk over the boundary with no beeping or anything and go on his way. Turning the collar off and back on will usually fix it. I still use the collar and most of the time it's okay I guess but not what we were hoping for.
Thanks for asking.

Very hard to operate dog just walks right through the boundary. needs to be charge daily.
Going back to a wire in the ground much better and less concerns!!!!!!!!

The collar tracking part is too heavy. It always turns down on his neck. I'm not going to choke my dog so it stay facing up. This should be mounted on a harness style collar. But I guess that's to smart to think of. Very disapointed with this product. I have also been not able to connect with the wifi to change settings a few times. This is a problem.

Amazing gps fence. Has been a game changer for our dog Nova! Can’t recommend enough!

The product and the service is great, but not on the weekends. Then when Monday rolls around, if you still have your dog and the product they do a great job getting you working...
So now they review my review and tell me they are in fact open part of Saturday and closed Sunday, the same days I need support when we go out to our farm. Unfortunately I knew that, but if thats when we need help, and it often is, then we just don't get any help and the service and collar is worthless until Monday when they offer help, if your dog came back!

The collars are great for my two GSD's. I like the convenience of taking them to other place and setting a fence. My only wish is that when a new collar comes out, I wish there were incentives or trade in allowances for long time customers.

Love this new collar, easier to charge so far and battery lasts longer! Love the security it give me especially when I'm not home, and my dogs can be left outside.

Installation was quick and the training instructions were clear and effective. Our six-month-old lab figured it out in two or three days. She knows what those white flags mean and has never crossed the wire even when family member dogs do. It's been great.

Unbelievable! 2026, yet their order page is totally outdated. Can’t cancel on my own, have to email’em. Funny thing is, it’s already shipped. So amazing. Almost a day later, and I still don’t have my refund.

Such an easy set up and way better for our larger situation than underground dog fences. We have 44 acres and want them to enjoy it all. This has been perfect for that, especially for training the new puppy.

Absolutely love the SpotOn collar! We recently purchased our second one after adding another dog to the family, and it’s been worth every penny. It gives us such peace of mind, and our dogs truly respect their boundaries.
The customer service has also been wonderful to work with — whether helping with a discount or replacing a broken latch. They even shipped us two replacement latches just in case it happened again, but we haven’t needed them. Great product and great company. Highly recommend!
