A dreadful experience
A dreadful experience. As reported elsewhere, good initial contact and promises made for work to be done. After the deposit was paid (over £2000) nothing. Failed to turn up on promised dates/s. Failed to refund the deposit. And now the bank will not refund because Springfield used a 3rd party (SumUp) to collect the monies. Avoid this company at all costs.
And still no sign of my refund and now…
And still no sign of my refund and now their email address is not accepting my emails and their phone number "temporarily not recieving calls". A truly dreadful organisation.
Do not use
I can only repeat what the most recent reviews have expressed regarding this company. Initial contact and communication was prompt and the pricing and time frame for the job was acceptable. Having paid the deposit there was complete silence and after 8 weeks and numerous phone calls and emails I demanded my deposit back as no date for the job to be done was given. It then took a further 4 weeks for a date to eventually be agreed upon for the work to be done and I only accepted this on the proviso that any further delay and I would get my deposit back.
The work was completed on the set date and the installers were considerate and did a good job. Having received a request for the remainder of the fee to be paid the day after completion I immediately paid the balance. Almost 3 months later, numerous emails, phone calls and answer phone messages I cannot get a receipt for the payment I made, nor a statement of the work carried our, nor any paperwork regarding the promised 10 year warranty for both materials and workmanship. Caroline has promised this would be resolved anytime I was able to actually speak to her but still nothing.
Avoid this company. It will let you down in one way or another.
Don't waist your time
Don't waist your time! Horrible company to deal with. Call after call and emails, for 8 weeks and have to write a bad reviews to finally get a date to have the window done. Then 5 days of constant calls and text to get pay but they never sent me an invoice or the warranty for the window!! Be aware don't use this company.
Springfield installed a catflap in…
Springfield installed a catflap in April. I found it caused a lot of drafSt so I took pictures and emailed it Caroline to ask if they could replace it but that email got ignored so I contacted Surefit who do have good customer service and they sent me a new plastic replacement flap with brushes that have no gaps as they said some were faulty but I can't fit it myself as the whole flap is sealed in my door so again I emailed Caroline and explained. This email got ignored so I called and she was unfriendly about me contacting Surefit but said an engineer would come to replace it and heard nothing since which I expected. I have emailed again but I expect to be ignored. I have never dealt with a company that can simply ignore aftercare like this. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Very poor experience
Initial positive experience with clear communication and came to take measurements quickly.
Then no contact for over 7 weeks despite e-mailing and ringing. Now has been a further 2 weeks and cat flaps still not fitted. Was offered a date for fitting and agreed to it (via e-mail) and then was told that wasn't the date they had planned to come. Changed to a subsequent convenient date, confirmed via phone call, and they haven't shown up. Have been called "unreasonable" and advised they offered to come earlier and I refused but was only offered a Thursday evening the day before which I was working. Have found communication with company to be rude and they make you feel trapped into having to complete their work. Wish I'd read previous reviews and would strongly encourage others to do the same before considering.

It's sad to write a bad review, I'm pretty sure I've never done it but I really felt the need for Springfield development company. They installed my cat flap early November 2023 in witch unfortunately was faulty.
I had two glass doors side by side and I had a cat flap installed in one of them. I had never had this glass steam up and condensate ever but unfortunately the one side that was installed was always covered in water, especially that the double doors are side by side and the one that wasn't touched had no problems at all.
I sent numerous pictures and email showing the issue at different times of the day, I sent kind emails for about 4/5 months, all I got was we will sort it out ASAP. It's now April 2024 and they have ignored my query and haven't don't anything to help. I feel abandoned and upset that I've spent nearly £400 on nothing. I now have mould issues on this half of the glass.
I can say the installer, this was a guy from up north, sorry I can't remember your name. He was nice. Just a shame the company haven't delt with a clear issue on there behalf.

We had Gareth & Stephen from Springfield Developments to install a new Velux window. They confirmed a date and time and even rang to let us know they were running half an hour late on the morning.
They were very professional and worked quickly and efficiently, consulting us as they progressed with the job. Very happy with their work.
Terrible company - avoid
I paid a substantial deposit 5 months ago. Have repeatedly had to chase to find a date to book in. Each time I book in a date it gets cancelled or rearranged. I have waited in 5 times for them to arrive. They never do. They never answer the phone, they never answer emails. Caroline who I was dealing with is quite possibly the worst customer service assistant I have ever come across. I ultimately requested my deposit back, and getting that was hard in itself. I've never come across a company that comes up with so many excuses, is so unresponsive and ultimately basically are a bunch of crooks who just want your deposit without ever doing the work. Awful.

Paid a substantial deposit to have significant work done to all of my Velux windows. So I utilised what appeared to be a large national company.
I paid my deposit over 2 months ago.
Heard nothing back for a month, so contacted the company who stated they would provide an update.
A week later still no response, so I followed up again and was given the first week of April as the week for the work to be undertaken.
The reason I was given for the delays was due to the fact that the parts from Velux had not arrived. (despite the fact that you can order the same parts from Velux direct in 5-7 days)
I heard nothing last week regarding the day of arrival, so I naturally contacted the company again (they do not answer the phone) via email to get an update, so that we would be available for the engineers arrival.
We had no response from the company for 2 days. I was told this was due to the service contact leaving the company. Told that my job was going to be looked into and they would call....
Week later, no call, no email, no interest, no response to another chaser from us.
The company clearly had a record of the date of the works agreed, which would have been centrally managed and had nothing to do with a service agent leaving.
They do not respond to calls or emails appropriately, they don't have the slightest respect for their customers. I would recommend being very careful in giving any consideration to using this business.
Go to a local specialist and avoid at all cost.
A terrible experience
Our experience with Springfield Developments was absolutely shambolic.
We only ordered a cat flap to be fitted into glass. 12 weeks later we have had to give up trying as we can no longer deal with the incompetence and dishonesty.
When we had it measured we were informed it would take 3-4 weeks. After 6 weeks we had heard nothing, and multiple emails and voicemail messages were ignored. Finally, we got in touch with someone and were told the glass had been made wrong and needed remade. If this was true, no-one attempted to contact us about this and no-one returned our call.
We waited another few weeks and got in touch eventually, and an engineer was booked to install. We changed work schedules and arranged to be at home for the fitter but no one arrived. When I got through to someone at Springfield, I was told that the fitter they had booked no longer worked for the company. But no-one had bothered to rebook another fitter, or to inform us.
A second date was arranged for a week later. We again moved our schedules to be at home and this time the same person who had been to the house 10 weeks ago arrived again to measure up. He hadn’t been instructed to fit the window and had not been sent the glass.
We were then informed that the “glass has had to be remade”, the same excuse that was used in January. This is clearly not true.
Throughout dealing with this company the lack of professionalism and ability to run a business efficiently has been starkly evident.
I have asked to have a manager contact me on three occasions which is ignored. When answered, phone calls do not identify the company and emails have no signature or details. Calls are never returned, and emails are routinely ignored.
Along with this there is clearly no functioning system for managing a workflow. The company has absolutely no interest in, or regard of any kind for their customers.
Do not, under any circumstances, use Springfield Developments for any purpose.
Bad repair
I contacted this company a while before Xmas to ask for a velux repair after being told it needed resealing . I understood that it would be a few weeks before their guy would arrive because of volume of work.He eventually turned up and confirmed there was nothing wrong with the window itself just the reseal which he completed . It started leaking again within 24 hours and I contacted the guy who did the repair . He said it must be the roof! I contacted the roof installers who inspected and said nothing wrong with it. A relative with some experience said it wasn't sealed properly and put plumbers putty as a temporary fix as the room is continually wet.It worked for a while. I contacted Springfield early January and I am still waiting for a resolution. If I speak to someone ,they say they will ring back-they never do. I have been asked to email with detail which I keep doing but no response . It is very frustrating. Today I was asked to put my complaint in writing but the line went dead when I asked for the name of the person to whom I should complain. I have been unable to get through since.All I want is a refund for the work that they didn't complete as I doubt anyone will ever turn up to do the job properly.
Quote on pet flap
Asked for a quote via email about fitting a cat flap, got the quote was quite expensive. Told them at first I'd go ahead then found someone cheaper & local. They ignored my emails & all of a sudden a driver is phoning me telling me he's turning up! Disgusting service its just forcing you into going with then, avoid !!!
Poor customer service

I first contacted you on 02/01/2024 enquiring about getting a cat flap fitted in my house. Following this, two males have come to my house to measure up, asked me to sign a document I wasn’t given a copy of and left. There was then a bit of a mix up with my order.
The cat flap was fitted on the 31st of Jan 2024, the engineer who attended my house was paid £390, advised me how to register my cat on the cat flap and left. I spent the next hour trying to register my cat, watching various videos from sureflap including resetting the cat flap and what to do if it is not working however none of the solutions provided worked. To confirm, the latch that is on that is preventing the door on the cat flap from opening inward is not going up and down to allow me to register my cat or allow my cat to regain access to my property. And whilst im aware that you don't make the cat flaps yourselves you are happy as a company installing these into peoples homes therefore taking responsibility that the product installed is in good working order which mine isn't.
I have then called Springfield Developments on the number used to contact me – 08000094201 at 14:15. I spoke to Lucy on the phone who advised me ‘leave it with me’.
On 02/02/2024 I have contacted Springfield Developments again and again spoke to Lucy who advised that the engineer was meant to call me back and again ‘leave it with me’.
After hearing nothing again I have made contact on 05/02/2024 at 09:54 and spoke to Caroline, I advised that I am not happy at this point with nothing appearing to be done and still not having a working cat flap. Caroline advised she would speak to her manager and call me back at 11:00 with an update. No further phone call was received and instead at 11:34 an email was sent to me advising to contact PetSafe on 08081896130 who would apparently talk me through how to get the cat flap working. I called the provided number and got the automated message of ‘these offices are now closed’ and directed me to the website. I replied to the email advising this however no response was received.
I have then sent a further email as below at 12:40 Containing both a video of how to register a cat on the cat flap and a video of my cat flap showing it is clearly not working.

When I have called the number, you provided for pet sure it says ‘offices are closed’ with no opening times and just directs you to the website.
I am not happy with the service provided at this point; appreciate you don’t make the flap themselves however as you are installing them surely you hold some responsibility to ensure they work especially seen as it has not worked since being fitted.
I would appreciate this to be forwarded onto a manager and resolved in a timely manner. As it’s nearly a week on from having it fitted, happily taking my £390, no receipt received (which I was told I would get) and still no working cat flap.

Again, this went unanswered. This was sent back to Caroline in response to her earlier email.
I have then called 06/02/2024 speaking to Caroline again advising I have had no further contact, am no closer to a resolution and not happy with the service provided. Caroline advised that her manager was away from the office till 08/02/2024 however she would raise this via email with him (even though I was told he was not answering his emails) for his return on 08/02/2024.
After again failing to hear back from Springfield Developments I called again at 12:59 on 08/02/2024 and spoke to Lucy, Lucy advised she would speak to her manager and again no further contact was made with myself.
I have attempted to make contact again today however despite numerous attempts was unable to speak to anyone.
I still have not received any kind of invoice or receipt for this work being carried out despite asking or any terms and conditions which I have been advised is a legal requirement for you to provide.
I would also like to draw your attention to you initial email which state that the glass and cat flap BOTH come with a 3 year warranty.
As im sure you aware I am very unhappy with the lack of contact, acknowledgement, and response from yourselves. The service you have provided is poor, the product provided is faulty and I will be taking this further.
A copy of this has also been emailed to you.
** In response to the below - I did call as stated above and the offices are closed and how a company think it’s acceptable to speak to a paying customer like that… I think the more appropriate question is, what is wrong with YOU? **

The Absolute Worst
Terrible experience with this company. They didn't deliver at all (literally), and all the agents I dealt with were rude. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. They also gas-lit me into feeling I was asking silly questions and that everything was okay. Turned out it was NOT okay. At all.

I suggest you avoid this company.
I contacted them in June regarding fitting a new motor to a Velux window. The engineer called to do a survey and I was told they would order a motor which I was later told had been received and was ready for installation.
After continuous chasing (numerous emails and phone calls) and getting no replies .
I eventually spoke to a lady today , 4 months after original contact .
The lady said she was very embarrassed and she knew she had not answered emails or returned phone calls.
She asked me to hold while she spoke to the engineer and her manager . After 10 mins she came back and suggested I go somewhere else as they didn’t know where the motor was…
