We refurbished our kitchen and bathroom with Square Mile Builders Limited in May 2025. Chris helped us plan the work and provided valuable advice and recommendations for suppliers to use. The budgeting and timing for the required work was quick and precise.
Chris and his team are competent, reliable and solution-oriented. The work lasted 4 weeks, it started and finished exactly when agreed. The budget was precise and met, and the work was carried out efficiently and professionally.
During the building phase work went ahead without any setbacks and any (minor) issues were immediately communicated along with a suitable solution, and then addressed and solved swiftly.
We have been very pleased with the result but also with the communication and responsiveness during the work. We warmly recommend Chris and his team and will definitely use them again if we do any works in the future.

This was a small project installing an electric fire and surround in my rental property requiring joinery and an electrician. An initial hitch was dealt with quickly.
The end result looks great, the tenants are delighted.
The price was good value.

My family has used Chris and his team at Square Mile Builders for over 20 years. During this time he has completed a range of projects for us, from internal decoration through to major extensive remodelling and renovation work. Whatever the scope of the project, without fail, Chris has delivered exceptional quality work together with great service. His latest project for me in early 2024, like all previous projects, did not disappoint - as I have come to expect, he was reliable, communicated well throughout the works, and always went above and beyond to ensure I was happy with the work. Chris's integrity, coupled with good workmanship and a can-do attitude that means he always delivers a solution to any problem we encounter, makes him a pleasure to work with. There is no one else that I would use - I trust him implicitly. He is great to work with, listens to the brief, adds value, and works hard to ensure you are fully happy with the finished job. I have recommended him several times, and everyone who has used him has had the same experience.

Chris and the SMB team did an excellent job demolishing and rebuilding our kitchen extension in 2021. Throughout the process, Chris was transparent about costs and timelines, and while this was the first time we’d undertaken a large renovation project we were comfortable throughout. The new extension has transformed our home and we are delighted with the results. We’ve used SMB more recently to repoint the rear of our home jobs and will be using them for the next phase of our renovation.

Great service provided by Chris and the team, would always have back if I were to do any more work to my current or future properties.

Chris was really accomodating with changes to the work done and I was able to go away knowing the job was being done to a really high standard, came back and the flat looked amazing. It was an almost full reno - new ceilings, new floors new bathroom new kitchen, sound proofing, and full re wire on the electrics / new fuse box. Would highly recommend .

We used the services of SMBL for renovating the external parts of our building (a Victorian 4-storey brick block)late 2021/early 2022. The works included facade improvements and installation of a brand new roof. Chris and his team were professional, reliable and responsive, and most of all very personable. Communication with them was smooth and frictionless throughout. And they came across as honest professionals; something that is a somewhat rare commodity in the industry. Some unforeseen extra costs did arise during the works, but they dealt with them in a fair and reasonable way. They never seemed out of their depth in dealing with the various aspects of the project. I would definitely recommend them and will go back to them for future construction work.

This is our third project with Chris and the team. As always the work done was to a high standard and the team were a pleasure to have around. This time they fitted a new bathroom, internal doors, loft hatch and did some decorating.

Chris and his team transformed our house. Rewiring, plumbing, plastering, kitchen fitting… they did it all! They were quick, efficient, tidy and friendly throughout. Would highly recommend.

A very high standard of workmanship. Personable and tidy people to deal with. Worked continually on the job to make sure it was finished on time. Covid made the project difficult to manage as we lived 200 miles away and there were some communication glitches. Chris understanding and flexible.

I’ve used SMB for work in my own home where they gutted and installed a new shower room. I then got them to do a complete paint and redecorate of my rental property. They did a fantastic job on both jobs working within the time frame with excellent skill and a high-quality finish. SMB are professional, polite, and clean up after the work to an exceptional standard. Would recommend 100%.

Chris and team recently completed a ground floor extension to our house to add a toilet and shower room. Having heard horror stories from friends about their experiences with building work - I was unsure what to expect. They weren't the cheapest quote we had but am glad we chose them. The entire team was exceptionally competent. Also, punctual and polite to a fault. They finished the job to a very high standard, in fact better than what we had expected by bringing in their past experience to help us make better decisions. Would highly recommend!

Chris and the SMB team did an amazing job converting the ground floor of our 1930s house. They turned a series of small, dark, separate spaces into a fabulous, light-filled, open plan home – doubling our living space downstairs. Professional with amazing attention to detail and high quality workmanship, something which was commented on by all other tradesmen that came into the property. They worked quickly, making suggestions for areas that needed changing from the initial brief, and delivered within schedule. Snagging dealt with punctually and without question. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of building work.

've worked with a number of builders on my design projects over the 14 years I've had my business and none have been as collaborative, supportive, respectful and such a pleasure to work with. I feel very confident introducing Square Mile Builders to a client and feel they are now part of my team. SMB did an excellent job of doing a fairly comprehensive renovation of a flat which hadn't had the TLC it deserved in recent years.
Chris and the team worked quickly and effectively, communicating well and also making suggestions of things that could be improved from the initial brief.
Another key thing was that all of the neighbours had nothing but praise for the way they carried out the work and their courtesy. Snagging also dealt with punctually and very well.

Square Mile Builders converted a garage into a fully insulated storage/laundry room for me. Work completed to a very high standard within 2 weeks. Their friendly, helpful team communicated well making sure everything was as I waned it. They always leave the site tidy at the end of the day. Highly recommend.
