Bogus invoice
Just today our company received a demand from STA for some outfit we've never heard of. Do they think we're complete idi*ts or something?
Excellent services
We've had issues with a client not paying us several invoices and ceasing all communication with us when we asked for payment. We've decided to use their services and they delivered the first results immediately. Within two weeks all of our past due invoices were paid in full.
It might have not been pleasant for the client but 4-5 months of outstanding invoices have not been pleasant for us.
Very unscrupulous company
Very unscrupulous company. They called me regarding a debt owing to a previous tenant and I asked them not to call me again, however they completely ignored my request and continued to call and harass me. I have reported them to Trading Standards.
Despicable
Just wrote a bad review on Economy Energy and the involvement of this debt collection company.
This company is a member of the Credit Services Association (CSA)
The CSA website tells you how to complain if you think they have breached their code of conduct.
They have beached the code in contact with myself regarding an issue my father has with Economy Energy and if they do it again I will make the complaint.
Just had an e-mail from the CSA where they have either misread my e-mail to them or they appear to be investigating STA practices already and have asked me to make a complaint.
I'll update as i get word from the CSA
Neither the CSA or STA compliance officer have denied that an investigation is ongoing.
I'd avoid STA as being a possible pariah with unprofessional practices - that's my experience anyway.
Update CSA say their is no investigation but no word back from the compliance officer at STA - does she know something?

They sent my daughter a demand for a debt that did not exist. she sent them proof that she had paid all bills due to their client in a timely manner, pointing out that their client had obviously made a mistake, they were not interested. In their eyes if their client says you owe money then you owe money any evidence to the contrary is just an excuse to not pay.
Its obvious to me they carry out zero checks themselves before sending out these demands. In this case the amount owed their client was £396, there was a payment into the account for this exact amount paid on the day it was due but this didn't stop them sending me a demand for a further £250.
I accept that mistakes can happen but in my eyes when they are found the decent thing to do is to accept you have made a mistake and apologise to the affected party. Don't expect it from this company though as you wont get it. On speaking to them the attitude is "not our problem take it up with our client"
I'm amazed that the law allows companies like this to operate in the way they do, the sooner it is illegal to send threatening / harassing demands to innocent members of the public the better.
If I could leave a score of 0 I would.

We only had one case available and STA treated this with a level of service I would expect if I was a major customer. I would recommend their services whatever value of debt you are dealing with
First rate professional service
I have used the services of STA International for a number of outstanding accounts and they have always collected the payments. Their approach is very professional and they keep you informed throughout the process. If there are any problems they liaise with you and negotiate with the debtor on your behalf. A first rate service that I would recommend to anyone.
