Stamp Duty Saving 

This is a scam. I was contacted by StampDuty.com and we discussed the home I had bought. They asked lots of questions to which I answered. I emailed to ask them if they felt my case was credible (this is their area of expetise) and they said they had already made a claim on my behalf and the claim met all HMRC requirements. I heard little from them thereafter and had to chase for every bit of information. HMRC then contacted me to state my claim had failed but not only that, they were going to fine me for the claim. I immediately contacted Hayden Grossman of StampDuty.com. He emailed me back with no particular solution or responsibility. I emailed again and radio silence began. Their marketing claim of StampDuty.com is that;

"Submission
When it’s ready, we submit your claim to HMRC. We ensure your claim is accurate and that it meets all HMRC requirements."

This is untrue.
If the claim fails you, the customer, gets fined by HMRC and the fines are substantial. As yet I have had no reply from Hayden or StampDuty.com to take responsibility.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY.

I engaged StampDuty.com on a no-win, no-fee basis to reclaim Stamp Duty Land Tax. HMRC initially refunded a substantial part of the stamp duty I had paid but later reversed the refund and demanded full repayment, including nearly £4,000 in penalty interest. I was left to repay everything myself, including the fee they had taken — which they refused to reimburse, despite written assurances that their professional indemnity insurance would “cover the loss and not leave [me] exposed.”

They refused to take responsibility or engage constructively. I was forced to issue legal proceedings to recover part of their fee. They didn’t even defend the claim, and I obtained a County Court Judgment (CCJ) in my favour by default in June 2025. Amazingly, despite this, they still refuse to pay me the remainder of the fee or the penalty interest I have been charged by HMRC. As a result, I am now issuing a second claim to recover the remaining amount.

This has been a deeply disappointing experience. Their actions caused me serious issues with HMRC, and despite their promises, they failed to reimburse the fee they had been paid. I would not recommend this firm to anyone.

My experience was great. My stamp duty was projected to be six figures but upon the first call, I was told within the hour, that they could save me nearly 50K on stamp duty. They did! After they took their cut, I still had a lot (most) of money returned to my account within a month or so after providing the requisite closing documentation. Joe and Katie were great, very responsive and informative. Joe is a problem solver and knows how to navigate parties who do not want to engage. I'm so glad I engaged them as tax counsel. Thank you!

This is the second time I’m leaving feedback because my first review was mysteriously removed. Let me be clear: this is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. They are complete scammers and utterly unprofessional. Katie, Rob, and the director are shockingly rude and incompetent. They held onto my money for over five months, blatantly ignored my emails and calls, and every time I managed to get through, I was lied to with a different excuse. Their so-called “customer service” is non-existent—it’s a total joke. This company is nothing but a money-grabbing scam. Avoid them like the plague! They will rob you blind and then vanish. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!
