I was a loyal Standard Notes premium user until now

I was a loyal Standard Notes premium subscriber for several years and genuinely loved the app. The interface was clean, the encryption gave me peace of mind, and I trusted it with my important documents, including PDFs.
However, after cancelling my premium subscription and reverting to the free tier, I discovered a devastating issue: I can no longer view my PDF files in the UI. Even worse, when I try to download them, the files are completely empty. These weren't just random documents – they were important files I trusted Standard Notes to keep safe.
What disappoints me most isn't just the loss of a premium feature. It's that my actual data appears to have been erased or made inaccessible. I never expected that downgrading would result in data loss. At minimum, I should have been warned that my files would become unusable, or they should have remained accessible for download in their original form.
I used to recommend Standard Notes to friends and colleagues. Now I'm left wondering how a service I trusted for years could handle user data this way. If you're considering Standard Notes, please be very careful about what you store there and understand that downgrading may come with serious consequences.
I truly hope this is a bug that can be fixed, but the experience has completely shaken my trust in the platform.

Not great experience.

I bought the premium because it had "Organize your notes into folders" as a feature, but that's not true.
They use a nested tag system, which is different than folders.
