Poorly planned.
I organised for a rep to come through my elderly mother's home for the purpose of a stair chair lift.
The rep gave his recommendations regarding the product and installation.
Fast forward to after the installation. The chair lift stops at the top of the staircase within 30cm of the edge. My mother has stumbled and nearly fallen down the stairs on multiple occasions.
I made contact with Stannah, and voiced my displeasure on how poorly planned and hazedous this project has been.
Stannah wants to penalize myself 800€ to have it rectified/lengthened half a metre. That's their answer to there very own incompetence.
I have no fault with the product. But there customer service leaves much to be desired.
*Update : Didn't think their customer service could sink any lower but to have a patronising manager state the fault was my mother's short legs and that if she just slid off the chair onto the foot rest it would all be ok, when you slide forward naturally your legs also slide forward, she then ends up on the tip of the foot rest and unstable position which puts her off balance and in danger of falling forward.
They then went onto to say that moving the chair away from the edge of the stair case wouldn't make any difference, the risk of my mother falling on the ground vs falling down the stair case. = Same result.
Ultimately, they have taken no responsibility for a poorly planned job.
If anything does happen to my mother in that chair, it's well and truly been noted.
PS. They even ignored a letter from my lawyer....The actions of supposedly reputable company.
