There’s a bug in a task and they do nothing

There’s a bug in the “Too good to be untrue” task and it’s been like that for over a month. After contacting starstable, they told me to keep on playing but I have this problem for over a month. After sending them screenshots and screen recordings of how it has to look and what it looks like now, they keep continuing saying “just do more tasks”… honestly very annoyed by this because I can’t continue playing like this. I can’t do my main quests anymore.

DON'T SWITCH SERVERS

i love horses, this game is great for me! Just one thing... ok im going to tell yall a story: one day I wanted to play with my friend irl, but my sever was full (Hazy Galaxy) and she could not join, so i switched to Frost Vally and the next day I can't join back to Hazy Galaxy! So I think that star stable should update how many people can be in a server at once -Karoline Embervaly (this is my name in game)

I LOVE THIS GAME

I think star stable gets way too much hate. It’s an amazing game with wonderful graphics. A lot of people hate Star Stable because you have to pay for a subscription, or that it’s glitchy. But the subscription is worth the money, and they update the game every Wednesday. The game made me fall in love with horses. They have special locations for holidays. For me, Star Stable was worth the money.

Why did they change?

hello! I have been playing sso for about 7 years as I am writing this. At first it was a perfect game with amazing story and characters with deep personalities. I loved the old asthetic of the game. The artstyle was different and again the characters where deep and real. SSO does not know there own characters. All the main quests have changed and all the lore has been thrown out of the window! We also had fun and indeering side quests. The old characters had personality, now they are all dumb down to kids characters. This game is no longer emersive. It is all a kidsgame. Back in the day we had to take care of our horses multipule times a day, and it would slow down if you did not keep the pase. And if the horses mood was too low it would be sent back to the stable. The soundtrack was also WAYY better and the artstyle too. Everything was better during the golden age of sso (2011-2016) If you want to see what I mean then go and watch some old sso videos. Like Stacy corner sso walkthrogh (I am sorry that I spelled that wrong. But go watch the playlist with old sso videos from 2015 and then mabye you will understand

My terrible experience with Star…

My terrible experience with Star Stables horse video games company.
BEWARE!!!!! Dangerous company. I'm forced to deal with constant unauthorized, fraudulent charges despite account being closed. Last year I cancelled the account after being charged over $500.00 for games and accessories never ordered. It was difficult to get hold of the company. It was a HUGE ordeal to get my money back. I was just notified by my bank that the company is charging again and it is my new account. The old account was closed but somehow the charges are going through to the new one. If you sign up you will NEVER EVER be able to cancel the membership and stop the charges. Terrifying experience. This is a parasitic company!! I closed the account the charges were made to, but I got another notification from my bank today that this company made another charge to another account. I've come to the conclusion that my account has been hacked by Star Stables and they go from one account to another submitting charges. As soon as I close an account they charge another. All I can do to stop this is to close my account with this bank and go to another bank. This is criminal. I've emailed the company numerous time but they are not replying.

Bekomme Star Coins nicht. Didn't get my Star Coins.

They gave me only 5000 coins for buying 10.000 and they can see that I bought it in my Account and Banking screenshot, but because I didn't got a Mail for their reciept of my Money, they say, they will not give me more information. This was my sixt and my last bought. And no, - I am Not really stupid to pay so much money. This Game was my Stimming Tool. I am autistic, and horses are my passion. And when I played there, this calmed me. Now a little world Breaks down to me. And I can Understand that every other Person ist getting down if he looses Money in such a Game in such a way. Especially If its from Pocket money. This is NOT ok!

An interesting difference was this time. The Last ones I payed with Paypal. And this Times I got paying Mails. with paypal you also can get your Money Back. With normal Banking Not. This time I wanted first to watch the other payments methods. And when I klicked on Bank Transfer this made already the bought with the Mail I got to send them the money. But I wanted rather to pay with debit device. Never use payments methods where you cant pull your Money Back.

I love this game SO much but there could be a few improvements to its software and sometimes it lags ALOT so that could be improved too.

Pure disappointment

Pure disappointment
Ok, so I bought the game for my daughter of twelve. First it was fun and game but turned out after 5 level you need to PAY for a subscription of buy it at once. I bought the game at once for her birth. Since than her grades begun to go downhill. Also, she does not get social, she became overweight because she only sat and play this game, she is skipping her horseback riding for FAKE EXPENSIVE horses that mean nothing.

And for what?
For an expansive game with no features, zero child safety, price increase for absolutely nothing (price increase at 26 Sep), dum quest, a money hungry game, sketchy graphics (still in 2022).

So, what you learned from this review is not buying the game

Overpriced, terrible managment, in-game content progressively getting worse…

Star Stable player of around 7 years. Started playing in ~2015. This game used to be incredible, not to mention it was (and still is) the only MMO horse game of it’s size. Lots and lots of quests, fun races, interesting storylines, areas to discover, great music, nice atmosphere, and of course, horses to ride. Recently the development team has been striving to make the game more diverse, to improve graphics, etc. I applaud them for that, however I have a lot of issues with the current game.

Ever since management teams switched it seems like they’ve turned the game into a “money-making machine” instead of actually improving the game. They’ve changed their target audience to kids and middle-schoolers who do not know how to handle money. A smart move, but disappointing.

Everything is incredibly overpriced (around €20,- for a single horse, if you’re buying the premium currency off the website). You get to play for free until level 5 and have to pay €50-€70 for a permanent membership depending on where you live to be able to continue getting new content. Mobile app is a scam to get little kids attached to the game and guilt-trip their parents into buying them a membership.

Management team is quite frankly embarrassing. They respond to reports and complaints with auto-generated messages that don’t even relate to the report or complaint most of the time. People get their accounts permanently banned for minuscule things, while people who actually pose a threat to the game environment get off with a warning.

The quality of actual in-game content has been declining too. While older areas very obviously had care and love put into them, the newer areas are just disappointing. Plot is confusing, and storylines keep getting changed (an older player will not have the same quest experience as a newer one). Iconic character’s designs and personalities get redone (and ruined). Training/racing your horses feels more like a chore than an actual fun game mechanic. Everything in-game is comedically overpriced (10,000 in-game coins for a pair of pants?). Mechanics that could easily be made fun and enticing are boring and repetitive. Older horses are bugged and glitchy, meaning if you bought horses as an older player, with real money, those horses are now useless.

This game has been rapidly losing older players, and if they don’t step their game up their game will undoubtedly die. I enjoyed my time playing this game in the past, but with the way the game is now I would not recommend paying for it.

This game is endangering your children.

This game is endangering your children.

Their chat filter is broken. There are people who go ahead and role play literal porn under the name 'breeding' or 'roam' rps. If you misspell swear words, or certain other words you can full on swear like a sailor, or write literal pornography. You are able to type out your FULL address, name, and who knows what else using the exact same thing.

Reporting the players who do these things DOES NOT HELP. They will send out the same robotic email response of 'just use the ignore function' and not punish the player 99% of the time. The 1% of the time something does happen the user is just temporarily banned from typing in chat.

I am warning anyone who is reading this thinking about letting your children play the game. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. They only want your cash for an unfinished game, and it can and will put your child in danger.

A great game for someone who loves…

A great game for someone who loves horses, it has good storylines and charicters however to unlock most of the map you have to be a star rider Which costs real money and can be overpriced for a game but once you start playing regularly the money would be worth it with star rider you get 100 star coins a week that you can buy new horses with however without star rider you can only buy star coins on there but the majority of horses cost 800-900 for new ones older models can be cheeper and the ponies are around 200-400 star coins. The only other currency in star stable is jorvik shillings that you get when completing quests but they can only buy clothes and horse some horse tack after you finish the storyline quests all you are left with is doing daily quests for jorvik shillings the main storyline quest builds up and can take a while to complete all of the stages of it. In star stable you also have holidays like Halloween and Christmas Which brings more horses and a different currency Which you can only collect by completing the holiday quests when you gather enough you can then exchange them for gifts like winter/Halloween clothes or tack. Once you finish the storyline quests you will have to do a daily quest for an amount of time Which eventually leads to a free horse. In some ways the game can be realistic like having to care for your horses daily however it also contains magic, ghosts and other supernatural elements some of the main quests might be scary for younger children around Halloween or some of the main story so I would recommend this as a 7+ game but overall I think this is a really great game if you are willing to pay for a subscription to unlock more quests and map, or as a non star rider to do more daily quests and only be able to unlock a small part of the map. I have been playing this game for 7 years and have really enjoyed it and think that anyone who loves horses and magic would enjoy this too.

Best game for any equestrian! (or someone who lives for horses)

SSO is the best horse game. Races, role plays, clubs, events, ETC. They don't leave anyone out either! Now, it's a little expensive. But it's a lot of time, effort, great staff and money to do this. And it's never easy to keep everyone (the 5milllion+ people who play). Now players, don't look into the pressure we put on the staff sometimes, " Awhh only horses." "where's our new character" "SSO doesn't listen or try for US." Players like me don't make the game, It takes time to make horse, The coats, the animations, textures ETC. and SSO kept us updated to pretty much everything. So is SSO this old bad game some reviews and players talk about? no. SSO is the best game for any Equestrian, Or just someone who loves horses!

I absolutely LOVE SSO

I absolutely LOVE SSO. I've played it since the game was a cd-game only available in a few countries. Now, if you would've asked me about 5 years ago to write this review, I would've given it 5/5. But they changed management 2017 (I think) and that's when everything went downhill. It makes me SO sad to see what the new developers are doing to this amazing frenchise. The creators used to be so kind and geniune. Every week when the game was updated they added something good that the players enjoyed and the news-page where they told us about it was so sweet. The customer service was so sweet, they actually listened to what the players wanted back then.
And even though it has always been a kids game, they've gone for an even younger target group since the switch. I am guessing they did that to make more money.

The new developers don't actually know anything about the game, they end quests abruptly and create new storylines all the time. Just dragging the main lore out, which makes me so frustrated.
They've changed the personality of the majority of the characters in the game which just doesn't make any sense.
An example: Loretta is a girl (NPC) you meet very early on in the game. She's very snobby and thinks highly of herself. But since the game developers changed everything, she's a nice person. And even though she acts like a good person. They never changed other NPC's dialouges about her. So other NPC's still say that she's rude. That's just an example, and there's MANY more new mistakes like that in this game.

It just makes me so sad that they sold the company, they could've done great things with the game, but instead they sold it to people who only care about the money the game makes. They just keep expanding and doing other things than focusing on the game.

It is originally a Swedish game, so in game, you get to take part of popular Swedish festivites and events like Midsommar and the easter celebration. I always loved those as a kid (and so did MANY other players), but now they've removed some of them. They've also added some more events that you could consider international - like the pride festival. Which I enjoy as well, but removing the old events has not been popular amongst the old players.
Now as I said, the game is from Sweden. But now I'm pretty sure they write the quests in English before translating it to Swedish (and other languages). But I'm just so angry with them because there's SO MANY miss-spellings and the grammar is also often wrong. It just makes me sad to see that they don't put the same effort into the game as the original creators.

Although, after reading a few reviews on here, there is one thing I don't agree with. Star Stable is basically a paytoplay, but you definitely do not have to buy horses for real money. You can save up your Star Coins and buy a horse, as a matter of fact, I did that just yesterday. Although the og-creators were very generous. They would give away free things way more often and there would be "double star coins weekends" a few times every month. I haven't seen one of those in years I think. Another sign that they really just want to profit on the game nowadays.

And sometimes I just can't help but wonder how the game would look today if they never sold it.
Everything feels so hopeless, I just want my childhood game back. :(

Sincerely, a 2000-something player who's been crying all night cause of nostalgia.

Expensive, lack of content, garbage management

I started playing starstable 2012, and been playing on and off since 2016 because lack of content.
It's very clear that the game has changed management, now everything evolves around revenue.

A couple of years ago, they released new areas, new quests, new content and functions more frequently, which kept their long-time players from leaving the game, that's not the case anymore unfortunately.

Now everything is about making new horses, and clothes, which costs starcoins (also I have to say - 20euros for 1 pixel horse is absolutely ridicilous) and that brings in money for the company.
The customer service is absolutely garbage compared to years ago, before - you got a personal answer from the team, nowadays you get a automatic-bot answer and no help whatsoever.

It says on starstables website that this game is about magic and making new friends - I don't agree with that.
This is a horse collection game and it is extremely expensive.

If it was 2012-2016 I would give them a 5 star review without a doubt, but since the game has gone so downhills with management and updates, it doesn't even deserve 1 star. Which is why I'm saying: stay away from this game. If your kids wanna play horsegames, download Roblox or something. Starstable is way too expensive and you don't get anything for the money you put into it.

VETERAN STAR STABLE PLAYER-since 2012

I have been playing star stable since 2012 when I was 15 years old. I figured I would hop on a website and write a review. A proper well deserved one. First of all, this is the best horse simulation game EVER. I am very picky about horse games and when I finally found star stable, I never again tried another horse game. It took a while for my mom to finally buy me a lifetime star rider, but it has been worth it since then! Yes, you sometimes do need to spend more money to buy star coins, but I haven't bought star coins in 4 years....I've just been saving my money on the game. Even as a 24-year-old, the quests still keep me engaged and happy. I have been through star stable thick and thin, and although the game has had some flaws and server issues, the game has always been the best one for me. When it comes to chat, if someone for some reason becomes mean, all you have to do is ignore that player or players. You can also report them; unfortunately, the SSO support team might not do anything about it. The quests are really fun, the graphics are incredible, and the game is so much fun overall! I'm addicted! The game is so worth it! Just...pay for the lifetime...and NEVER again.... unless you REALLY need more star coins...you do get 100-star coins every Friday as a star rider for free....that's how I save my coins.

THIS GAME ADDICTS CHILDREN. DO NOT LET THEM PLAY IT. It is disgusting and there is no customer support. It should be criminal. Save yourself a lot of heartache and don’t let your children use it.

Bought this game as a kid

Bought this game as a kid, went back to it around 7 years later and I was rich, still not worth the $154.97 I paid that could've been used for much better games which were still cheaper, personally I think this game is meant to prey on kids who don't have a good concept of cash.
