Like others, we didn't understand fully the message that the billing is for the whole year at once. They quote a number per month which is redundant as you can't pay by month. As much as they say it is well communicated, they have a duty of care to ensure purchasers know the terms of their purchase. The statistics available are not good enough to warrant this price and terms of the contract. Customer service is very "computer says "no"". Wouldn't recommend.

I was charged for a year rather than a month, I don't have access to data I saw when in free mode u less I update to premium which I do not want to do. Called the customer service severally but got no answer. I want a refund as the site isn't useful for me if I don't upgrade to premium and I also want to take my card details off to prevent further direct debits in future but I have not been able to. I am really stressed and in a financial fix as a result of the craftiness of this site and the huge debit I got. Not a pleasant experience at all.

They say monthly and you pay one year ahead and no way to get a refund… the starter plan is a useless value.

This is scam why would you not allow cancelation after a day of using your not so helpful site. Why would you charge 1 whole year of subscription?! Your site isn't even helpful as all the information are confidential unless otherwise we upgrade the subscription to a very hefty fee? Disgusting!

When searching in the free version, it showed us results that we thought might be interesting. When we paid, we discovered the reports mentioned were just not there. We contacted the customer service, they looked together with us, they had to admit it didn't exist. In the search, we download 2 "premium reports", which turned out to be 2 one pagers with 1 graph on them.
We requested a refund after half an hour of searching, but we didn't get it. There was a proposal for a bit of discount but we don't want the service. So we ended up paying but never using it.
This is really one of the worst customer AND product experiences ever. Defo not worth the try, you'll be scammed.

I have just now completed the manuscript of a book, "Global Meets Digital", which has dozens of data sources citing Statista. Statista is the best source for data on all kinds of business and industry issues.

I asked and searched everywhere. Statista came back with the best data available and the proof sources and so sorted my needs out in less than a day. Thanks

these guys are literally cancerous in so many ways. When i subscribed and upgraded form my free account for close to a thousand euro a year, I realized that still 100 out of 100 of my requests were still behind a "PRO PLUS Premium" paywall that was another couple of hundred euros A MONTH! when i reached out they said I couldnt cancel or ask for a refund even though I provably never downloaded or accessed anything of value off their site, as there was nothing. the customer support and key account guys are basically snakesoil sales men, toxic as hell.
Stay away from this site - its a fraudulent clickbait company basically operating on shady locked-in-practices. its 2022 and we still got such weak business minds operating - sad.

On 9/20/2022 at 8:08 a.m. I purchased a 1-year (monthly subscription - which as it turned out to be all charged upfront). However, on the same day 9/20/2022 at 11:51 a.m. cst, I reach out to the company by email informing them that within the first hour of using the subscription, I requested to cancel the account. As indicated in my feedback, the access through the paid subscription is still too limited and seems that every item that I explored required an upgrade in subscription or comes at an additional cost and is not included in the plan I selected. The access to data was not as I expected. On 9/22/2022 they responded they would only cancel the auto renew at the end of the 12 months. I reached out to them again and received the following response: "We have cancelled the autorenewal clause of your Single Account License. It will not renew to a month-to-month subscription after the first term of 12 months. How our Customer Support already explained, we are unfortunately unable to provide you with a refund since there had been views and downloads. According to our refund policy the license must be unused in order to qualify for a refund. We can offer you a free report or study worth of $495." Yes, I made a couple of downloads as I was contemplating the basic subscription would be adequate; but any meaningful information is an up sell, more $$$. I think they are misrepresenting their product to the average person; The product was not what was expected. Notified them same day. No reasonable resolution offered. Bate and Switch all the way.

I couldn‘t access the data I needed.
Reply to your answer: As I wrote to Mr. Lang from Statista, it is not the problem of subscription, but a matter of your search filter. Even when de-selecting all reports that are in the next (12x more expensive) subscription, your result list always shows entries only for the higher corporate subscription. Even when I execute your tip of ‚search refreshing‘. And instead of re-checking this error, I get emails and replies here why I don‘t upgrade to a higher (12x more expensive ) subscription.
So do I pay my subscription to be treated as a second class customer who is a victim to get advertisment for the next subscription? Is that what statista is called customer service?

Katie Reddington is just fabulous. She's hugely helpful, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I know she'll be on a sabbatical for the next few months and we'll all really miss her while she's away!

This was my go to site for all my research work at NYU Stern School of Business.
I could back up all my research with good data insights and authentic sources.
Statista and Bloomberg were most relied by me.
Statista UI is very good and the various downloadable formats of Statista made my life easy.

I have been using Statista for the past two years. I have found it to be an excellent resource for data and statistics on a wide range of topics. Moreover, I have also benefited from the details of the sourcing of data as these are often high-quality publications. Statista is one service that will remain at the top of my list.

I was trying to get charts on US mass shootings over the last 30 years and came across statista.com which it's data suggested that there has been less than 100 mass shootings in the US in the last 30 years which is obviously false and this year alone they have had over 300. I found this with a few websites, predominantly American websites. Statista have been back in touch and have said they will include what constitutes a mass shooting which they did. A mass shooting involves 3 or more fatalities but they haven't changed their data and state as of the 4th July 2022 there had been less than 10 mass shootings in the US when in reality there was over 300 and 27 of those were school shootings

I accidentally purchased a year's worth subscription (the price was advertised monthly initially)
Proceeded to ask for a refund immediately - I contact them on 3-4 different emails (support emails, finance department email with no response tried to call them on several occasions on the US and European numbers also no response but I still receive some marketing emails in the meantime from employees who work there
Paying 550+ USD i still don't have access to a lot of data which require an enterprise upgrade
I am beginning to believe this may be a scam its been over a week with no response

I am frequently retained as an expert witness on matters involving false advertising, trademark infringement, branding, publicity rights or advertising industry custom and practice. Statista has proven invaluable as a reliable source of some of the information I cite in my expert reports. For example, I've cited Statista when discussing the global brand value of a large toy company, the importance consumers apply to brand names, the rate of sales growth of the kombucha category, the effectiveness of hand sanitizer for reducing the spread of Covid-19, and in many other instances as well. Statista is very easy to use and its charts are compelling.

Edit: I got a call from an agent who apologized & I appreciated her follow up. My issue is with the people responsible for this sales strategy, not the agent. She was told to say: (paraphrasing)
“We send customers many valuable emails in a year as a reminder that we exist. So customers can decide to un-subscribe or not” yet decide not to send a reminder?
This doesn’t make sense - So the constant emails to market more of the product is valuable. But a reminder isn’t?
I felt my stomach turn as I was told “but we technically tell you we exist via marketing”.
I instantly knew where this is going because I worked in startups that did this.
I told the agent I will edit the review. She clarified she didn’t call on that basis and didn’t want me to but it matters to me to be as transparent & accurate about the situation & consequence of that sale strategy.
Choose, seeing a sudden drop in your sales and shocking your share holders or seeing the reviews go up. This is a nightmare that is only getting worse, you are infact further risking the business the longer you delay.
Please think long term, with the customer, not against them.

Statista has a 6 week cancelation policy that I don't have an issue with.
However, It was a decision your sales team made to NOT notify the customer ahead.
For most of my time as a customer I've recommended Statista for their quality content, evolving features, and great customer support.
I've actively told other friends who run small to medium sized businesses to subscribe to you. Who knows if I gave you customers or not, at the time I was hoping my recommendations worked because I believed you deserved it.
I run a start up, and like any other starting business, we are finding our bearings. We are trying our best to keep our companies alive. I am personally both programming and designing the product along with running the business for over 5 years day to night, trying my very best to build a product people want that solves a real problem.
Never have I ever been closer to bankruptcy than when Statista didn't warn me & told me I crossed the cancelation period for 5250 euros and needed to pay for the annual re-subscription. Out of everything that could've failed my business, this was the last way I expected my business could end.
I messed up, It is technically true that they tell you you can only cancel 6 weeks ahead. However it was a decision to not notify the customer ahead on email or make it in bold or easy to find on the account.
I did not have the money to pay. It was one of the most embarrassing moment of my life to call my chronically sick father, trying to retire, and explain that I don't have a way out. If I don't pay they could sue me. I needed some solution from friends, business partners or anything.
My father is on the verge of retirement and he saw that to end anymore trouble I'd face with Statista he'd pay for it.
I took away from his retirement - those happy years he's supposed to enjoy. It f***ing broke me that he was tearing up realizing his son is constantly in state of failure (I've been developing DORE for 5 years) still not reaching product market fit.
This was done on the promise that I'll pay him back with interest in 3 years.
I get the funds. I contact a senior manager who was supposedly reported to, to handle my case. At first she was overly friendly and responsive, I respond with a single line afterwards saying the invoice is paid and please unsubscribe me from your service.
No response after 3 days. I then contact my account manager, who originally contacted me about the confirmation and reported me to a senior manager. No response after 3 days. This was how I was treated on my way out.
They see me as this bug, some rude, confused person making their work day worse. They do not need to know about what I had to do to cover for my mistake, It's completely irrelevant.
And I know they likely weren't responsible for the 6 week cancelation notice policy.
But the consequence of that lack of action led to a customer's reality that needs to be better considered. All you had to do is notify your quote "loyal customers" ahead. I can see others complained about this & you still won't consider it. I really hope this tactic is not the "Make or Break" of your business.
I wasn't planning on writing this review, it's just the fact that I made my father cry, went to pay, asked to be unsubscribed only to be frowned upon & ignored on the other side of the screen by the two people who were handling my case is what pushed it.
I send a 3rd email to the general contact section on the website & get a response under 24 hrs, subscription was canceled.
