Disappointed …

Our first time here and we were left disappointed. We asked for a lower floor weeks ago in our booking and the room wasn't ready until the last possible moment at check in time. I had an injury and was limping badly and hoped to be accommodated a little earlier.

I don't like lifts but you have to use them as stairs weren't built inside the hotel!!

Its says its a 5☆ hotel but at best its a 4☆. Its very tatty and breakfast though nice, is akin to a lesser establishment. The restaurant is chaotic and there are queues for everything. That said, the staff were polite and helpful.

I was unimpressed with sugar sachets and butter packets with breakfast and hot drinks brought to the table.

Our windows were dirty and the balconies were rusted and uninviting. We found rubbish by the fridge and parts were damaged or dirty.

Parking was £25. Hotel guests should not have to pay that much.

Dog friendly

Dog friendly, lovely staff. I stay here regularly and it is always clean and welcoming. Harbour view is the best if you can book it.

Shocking Customer Service

I recently stayed at this hotel with family. The room was very nice and clean. The TV reception was not very good. Also the bathroom became very steamed up after a shower due to there being no fan. When you opened the shower screen all the water ran down it and onto the floor (room 121). Not major issues but not exactly 5 star.

We were shocked at the cost to park. We stayed for 2 nights and it cost £24 for 24hrs! Totally extortionate.

We paid for the stay up front and on check-in was asked for card details incase of any incidental charges.

We check-out a couple of days later with seemingly no issues. No mention of further charges. A few hours after leaving we discovered that £243.50 had been taken by the hotel! That's when the nightmare began.

It took ages to get through to reception and when we did the lady was quite abrupt and dismissive. She kept saying contact your bank and then hung up. No explanation or break-down of charges was given. We rang back and explained everything to someone else who was quite sarcastic and ended up putting us through to someone in America who put us through to someone else in Europe who then put us through to "guest relations". He took it seriously and said he'd raise a ticket for a full refund and someone from the hotel would ring back immediately.

They did ring the next day but we missed the call. So we rang them and had to explain everything again. They put us through to someone else who said we'd get a full refund. Rang back 24hrs later to be told they couldn't help and to ring the bank! Aggghhhh.

Have rang bank, they were incredibly helpful and have told us what steps to take next. No sign of money from hotel, no courtesy call or anything. Absolutely disgusted with this hotel's customer services.

My advice would be to check your account after you've left.
