This review is for location at 5709…

This review is for location at 5709 Main St., Thurston OR ... I called to check if they accept my insurance, specifically mentioning the name of the entity providing the insurance service...was told they did, only to show up for my appointment--a 20-minute drive--to be told they don't actually accept that insurance for vision....wha? your name is sterling optical, if not for vision, what else? are you performing colonoscopies on the side? what a waste of time, find someplace more competent than this stink hole.

Went in for an exam and decided after…

Went in for an exam and decided after 30 years of wearing glasses I’d spring for a good expensive pair after what insurance covers and also since my prescription hasn’t changed in years. The tiny room for the exam was also the storage room(menlo mall). After receiving my glasses, with the upgraded Zeiss lenses and blue light and yellow night driving tint, I noticed I couldn’t see as good as my old cheap ones. Like way worse. Brought them back only for the optometrist to tell me he had the prescription correct with my new glasses but the problem was with the lenses and no one inside helped me out. Now I have a pair of 600 glasses that are useless. Fast forward 10 months of putting up with the glasses and only wearing them a handful of times, less than 10, I discovered that the frames became disfigured. Specifically the legs of the glasses. They were distorted as if they cooked inside the case with the cloth they gave me as well. Literally melted to the glasses. The thing is that these glasses have lived their lives inside of my dresser. Never have I seen glasses melt before. Now there is a warranty on the frames and even the distributor, warehouse, or wherever they got them from told me they won’t warranty them. I was offered by Sterling to replace the frames at a discount but still significantly marked up. I considered it an insult since I’ve barely worn them. Maybe at cost I’ve would’ve accepted it and never buy plastic designer frames again. I’m on to finding a new retailer that isn’t any of the things I’ve mentioned above. It’s a shame because if this all had gone differently than me and my 4 dependents would’ve stayed with this company. It started because my insurance changed. Also brought my daughter there as well before this all happened and had a bad experience with getting her glasses as well. They forced me to pay for upgraded lenses when other retailers just make you sign a waiver but that’s another story.

I'm back...with even more info...lol

I'm back! I wrote to the Corporate Office of Sterling Optical TWICE and received NO RESPONSE!!! So what does that tell you about them? It tells me that they have no integrity and that everything i accused them of was THE TRUTH!!! need i say more? They should refund me the amount of money i requested and do the right thing as they don't even have a customer service number where you can CALL THEM to discuss any difficulties or complaints, what kind of company is that? Again, i beg anyone who does not want to get RIPPED OFF to stay away from this chain of eye stores. Heads up Sterling Optical...a refund would clear this whole unpleasant thing up...its the right thing to do because you know that lady upsold an old grandma and most people have respect for the elderly, i know i do....think on it!!! Now this crazy store had the nerve to call me (i was working and missed the call) and didn't leave a message...hmm, i wonder why? could it possibly be that they have been contacted by agencies who are questioning their business practices? Again, Sterling Optical..you know which location you are, you can contact me via REGULAR MAIL and advise me that you are refunding me the amount that i am requesting and i am sure that we can consider the case closed. FYI folks, the two letters i sent out to their coporate office...one already was mailed back to me "return to sender attempted-not known unable to forward" so who is the corporate office of this chain of eye stores? Again eye wearers BEWARE!! You can't contact a corporate office by mail, so that means my email i sent them was not received as well, and there is no telephone number, why the cloak-n-dagger? they hide like they are in a James Bond movie...sounds shady to me. Why would ANYONE want to do business with them...NOT ME!! Any company where you can't reach a corporate entity is RIDICULOUS to say the least. Oh, and to be fair, i am not speaking to that location myself, i will let the agencies i contact deal with them, maybe they can garner the truth or truthlike substances from them (which i highly doubt). As a business professional i like to conduct myself ethically, professionally and truthfully so when i deal with a business that treats me with NO RESPECT AND RIPS ME OFF i take it personally because i do not operate in that fashion, nobody who is in customer service should, am i correct?
