Storage For Your Life Reviews 

Tried to reserve via website, received email with quote for a higher price. Told that the website is incorrect despite website showing video of the unit. now see several offers on website that I was never advised of and no email for corporate.

An amendment to my previous reviews of Storage For Your Life (SFYL), in Parksville, BC. The company has reached out to me and has responded in a very favourable way. I thank them for their efforts which were in a very favourable to me!!!

Couple of months ago, we're searching for a storage place that will suit our needs. We searched the internet and run across bunch of storage companies that are accessible to our location to store our things temporarily. Of course, we read all the reviews and finally decided to rent SFYL Surrey. Our first impression with them, they are friendly and accommodating. Our initial visit was a breeze, they will call you ahead of time so that they can prepare the documents to be signed in their office so you don't have to wait outside due to COVID protocol. Yes, they are strict on COVID protocol for everyone safety. The storage are well protected, well ventilated and clean. Why friendly, because they treat all their client "VIP" and why accommodating because they attend to your needs specially when I moved to a bigger storage unit. As the title said, First Impression Last and hoping SFYL Surrey will keep that good vibes so far we have experienced and pass on to other as well.

I certainly would not advise anyone to rent from Storage For Your Life. The business states it provides excellent security, but I am here to say they do not provide excellent security.
I have reason to believe that my storage locker had been tampered with. I requested that the security footage be viewed but was told by site manager James that the local police had to be contacted.
I contacted the local police to follow up but the local site manager would not allow the police to review the footage. The site manager told the police that a warrant had to be obtained.
So exactly what kind of security does this company offer if the police cannot review security footage? Exactly who are they protecting? They are certainly not protecting the customer.

If I could give less then 1 star I would / Was robbed today poor security. Office head was so unconcerned . Heard police state second time this week. Lost all my things and Christmas stuff. Hate this company will never use again. DO NOT USE THEM !!!

It held lots of my stuff over the last few months because I was moving out and had so many thing to take.I didn’t have many boxes lol and I’m not sure where to get some. Five Stars 😀

Honestly, the first few years were terrific! Then, an Ontario company bought SFYL out, then, the HEARTBEATS of caring for local nonprofits STOPPED! Ruthlessly taken over by a company who kicked out 5 or 6 local organizations that do so much for our community. Yep, it sucks! Now, I totally get it. It’s a company and they are in it to make money. Okay, but what about doing the right thing and showing some compassion? My own organization helps save lives. We are not like many nonprofits who continually raise money, no, we collect and distribute blankets for shelter programs and families in need. Our rates have been jacked up from $225 (which was manageable) to $350! WTH? We absolutely NEED space in the Fraser Valley, and unfortunately because we’re running out of funds, we have no choice but to leave STORAGE FOR YOUR LIFE. This move will negatively affect the lives of many in Mission, Abbotsford and Chilliwack. It would be nice to see a company as big as this show some compassion and love for their communities WITHOUT asking for something in return. It’s not that you wouldn’t get major and undeniably massive cross promoting from our organization and mention of your kindness on every major mainstream and social media outlets; you get much more than that, you’d get our unconditional love.
Speaking of love, we LOVE the kind folks that work the front end. They in turn, love what we do and they too wish their company would reach out, as SFYL upper management have said they would in the past. Alas, nobody from head office have reached out to Blanket BC Society. Not one.
We are now in the worst position and have to look at getting out ASAP. It’ll be extremely difficult to leave, and moreover sad we won’t have a place to store the much needed blankets and clothing and such in Mission anymore. :-(

Always get good service even though I always loose the key

I'm still waiting to hear back from them re my last review. Below they said they would look into to it immediately.

The rates skyrocket every other month without explanation. What was once a good deal is now becoming highway robbery.

Hello : We have been with SFYL for almost 8 months. it has changed several times over this period; And we have seen it through. We feel safe there, but there is often no visible supervision of the property. It would be improved if there were more available staff, to help customers, and over-see the area. I have always been pleased with the service, but it would be improved to see staff, without having to search them out. It would greatly appreciated if there was more upkeep to the warehouse and its surrounding area, as it gets used greatly by many.

Very nice facility. Bright and clean. Friendly, helpful staff. Maybe a little pricey though?

Pros: -none of my stuff was damaged or stolen
Cons: - STAIRS to get to storage unit.. are you kidding me? Get a ramp, PLEASE good god
- only one friggin’ trolly that fits nicely in the elevator. I waited for an hour multiple times
- website constantly wouldn’t let me pay my bill and then eventually they wouldn’t let me do it on the phone but I’m taking care of five kids and your hours are awful so you basically made it impossible to give you my money and that was so stressful. Make an app, Give me the information I need to pay through online banking, ANYTHING

The woman that work at Storage for Your Life on the Halston are the best. They will do whatever they can to help you out with your storage/payment problems. I would recommend this company to anyone needing storage

Rent has been continually increasing AND they have changed the billing cycle from every month to every 28 days, which gets them almost another payment each year out of their customers. One of the gates always seems to be broken which defeats the purpose of paying for a "secure" storage space. I am currently on the hunt for a new storage location before my rent goes up again. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Raoul at Storage for Your Life is very helpful. He gave me options for downsizing my storage unit and helped me save money.

At first it was a great relationship between myself and staff but then staff changed and new people came in. When I went to cancel my storage, i was told a specific date that I had to be out by (this date I questioned because my monthly storage was up the week before but was assured that wasnt the case so I accepted it and planned my exit). As soon as my month was up, O began to receive emails asking for money (I ignored these at first because I figured someone made a mistake cuz I had one more week, according to the manager). The emails continued and I contacted the storage office to rectify the situation only to find out no one knew anything about my cancellation. I met with the manager the next day (who was the person I had originally talked to) and he didnt remember me or the conversation we had. He hadnt even written anything about it down but wanted me to pay a prorated amount for the extra days.
I found my exit to be very unprofessional and am not impressed.

My husband and I were AMAZED by how simple it was to register with Storage for your life and by their incredible customer service and special rates. ABSOLUTELY go with them!
