Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 108 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the products, citing issues with fragile and non-replaceable components, as well as a lack of innovative new games. Customers also frequently reported terrible experiences with customer service, finding it unhelpful and difficult to reach a real person, often encountering long wait times and unhelpful responses. The refund policy was a major source of frustration, with many struggling to receive refunds for accidental purchases, faulty items, or games that did not work as expected. Additionally, people found the prices to be high, especially for digital games, and felt that the website offered a poor user experience with difficult navigation and filtering. Some people also felt that the company's practices were designed to extract as much money as possible, with increasing subscription prices and mandatory credit card additions. Reviewers also mentioned issues with account security and the inability to recover lost accounts, even with proof of ownership.

I had an issue with a purchase

I had an issue with a purchase. I wanted to get dlc and did but see any option to purchase dlc directly. The dlc was included in the ultimate edition and advertised on the game homepage (of the game I already beat). Unfortunately the ultimate edition did not merge with the fame I already bought, so I was unable to play just the dlc, but had to replay the game from he beginning. I deleted the game immediately and asked for a refund.

The auto-system denied me, but said I might be eligible through other means. They do not have a phone number so you have to use their online chat, which has a terrible UI. I asked the service bot and was disconnected from the chat. I was 12 in line and could not refresh or leave the page without losing my spot (very difficult on mobile).

I answered several questions. Explained the situation. Asked for clarification and whether there was a way to merge the save files or get the dlc instead of the ultimate edition. Instead I got an auto response and was disconnected again.

Incredibly dehumanizing. It was one of the most infuriating experiences of my life. It was $4. It was not worth my time nor the service people's time for $4, but it's a game I was pushed into buying for lack of another option and will not play because it does not fit my needs.

Absolutely the worst customer service experience I've had in years. Built to be difficult. Built to dismiss you. Built with bad, unyielding policies. They did not listen and disconnected me before the conversation was finished or I even finished reading the chat.

Buy physical media. The ps store is evil.

Refund policy is a joke

Refund policy is a bust. An accidental purchase happened on my PlayStation account, and I reached out to support right away. Instead of helping, they just kept saying “sorry, nothing we can do” and sent me to their refund policy over and over.

Easy to use and filter games

The platform has been easy to use, and the collection is brilliant. There are sales all the time, but it can take a lot of tapping to find a few simple things.
Overall it is build quite good.

Where are new games?

My expectations were sky-high when purchasing the PS5, hoping to dive into exciting new exclusives.

Unfortunately, my experience has been lackluster with the ongoing focus on remasters and remakes rather than innovative new franchises.

Titles like The Last of Us Part II set standards, but since then, offerings have felt repetitive and uninspired, leaving me wondering if this was the right console for enticing new adventures or merely a revisitation of old ones.

I was waiting for some revolutionary titles, but it seems I'll never get them as well as other PS5 owners.

Frustrating subscription practices.

Frustrating subscription practices and poor customer service

I find it extremely frustrating that almost every service you purchase through the PlayStation Store is automatically set up as a subscription. There is no notification by email, SMS, or similar before the charge is made — only a receipt stating that a certain amount has already been taken from your card.

I am certain that I have deactivated my PS+ subscription at least ten times, yet it somehow keeps reactivating.

Customer service is also very slow. It can take up to a week to get a reply by email, and my last case dragged on for nearly a month due to 3–4 emails back and forth.

Prices are increasing at an alarming rate. PS+ went from 680 NOK in March to 840 NOK in August this year, and back in 2021 it was 580 NOK.

On the positive side, they do have a good selection of games and collaborate with many major developers who release their titles on this platform.

My PlayStation account was stolen — and Sony support abandoned me.

I never thought I’d have to write this, but here I am.

My PlayStation account — with my purchases, data, and years of history — was hacked. I received official emails from Sony confirming a purchase I didn’t make, and then, a notice that my email had been changed.

I reached out to PlayStation Support with proof — screenshots of the registration, the purchase, the email change — everything. You know what they told me?
“There is no account with this email.”!!!!!!

As if I never existed.

No investigation. No help. Just cold denial.

What hurts the most isn’t even the account loss — it’s how I was treated. Like I was invisible. Like none of it mattered.

Sony, you have the power to trace the account history. You know the original email. You could fix this. But instead, you pushed me aside.

I’ve been a loyal customer for years. I trusted this platform. Now I feel completely helpless, and honestly, heartbroken.

If you're reading this and still have your account — delete it, sell your PS and find another option. Because if it gets stolen,

**Sony won’t help you.**!!

PS+ is crap. They used to be cool games, but now what? What's this supposed to be? The only cool games from PS+ are NBA, UFC, and an old game that's no longer on PS+ (DYING LIGHT 2)

Broken Game, Zero Accountability, and Rude Customer Service

Review:
I’ve been a loyal PlayStation user for years, but this recent experience has left me completely disillusioned with the platform.

I purchased Ready or Not on the PlayStation Store, only to discover that a core mechanic — the AI command wheel — is broken to the point that I couldn’t even get through the tutorial. After following every troubleshooting step PlayStation Support provided (updates, reinstallations, database rebuilds, even full console reinstalls), the issue remained. It's not isolated either — this is a well-documented bug across the internet.

Despite clear evidence the game is defective, I was met with a robotic, dismissive support process. I was told I couldn’t get a refund simply because I had downloaded and attempted to play the game — which, by the way, is the only way to discover the bug in the first place.

When I asked for escalation to a supervisor, the support agent refused and abruptly ended the chat mid-conversation, before I could respond. That’s not just poor service — that’s disrespectful and completely unprofessional. My follow-up attempts to reconnect have all been ignored or shut down.

Sony’s refund policy is clearly being used as a shield to avoid responsibility for faulty digital products. If a game is broken, customers deserve fair treatment and a refund — not stonewalling and scripted replies.

I expected better. This experience has completely eroded my trust in PlayStation.

Horrendous, avoid

Given vouchers which I added to PlayStation wallet to purchase a ps5. Turns out you cannot do that, despite the consoles being advertised on the website. I have tried several times to speak to advisor explaining situation and asking for help- they outright refuse and say they cannot refund, then they hang up, no further conversation or help/advice offered

I'm hundreds of pounds out of pocket and no help given at all, disgusting!

PlayStation Plus subscription issues

I was offered a -25% offer to renew my PlayStation Plus subscription. PlayStation Store's website and app are full of bugs and constantly return 'bad request' or 'something went wrong' messages back to the user. I was unable to renew my subscription as it would not add it to the cart; instead, I got a blank screen with a 'something went wrong' message. I tried over several days, reassured that the offer was valid until 30/09/2025. Then my subscription expired, and they withdrew the offer. I tried to contact support, but they asked for evidence in the form of screenshots and an email, which I do not have because I did not think I would have to prove myself and I was not sent an email. They will not take my word, effectively implying I am making it up. All I want is for them to restore the previous offer, but instead, they said they cannot help me. Well done, PlayStation, you've managed to lose a customer who has been loyal to your brand for over 20 years over a discount worth just £15.

Long-time PSN user stuck due to outdated regional restrictions

I’ve been a loyal PlayStation user for over a decade. When I first created my PSN account, there were no Middle Eastern regions available, so I had to register under the US region.

Today, that decision haunts me. I recently bought FIFA 25 Standard Edition, only to find out that I can't access the Arabic version of the game on my US account. Despite having wallet funds, I can't use them to buy the Arabic version through a UAE account, nor can I transfer the funds.

I reached out to support multiple times with no resolution. I even requested:

Transferring funds to my UAE account

Activating the Arabic version of FIFA 25 on my US account

Or exchanging the wallet funds for regional PSN cards

Sadly, all options were rejected without exception or escalation. This isn’t about policy—this is about customer care and adapting to real user needs.

I just want to play the game I love, in my language, without starting over or wasting my money. Please do better, PlayStation

You need to have a think about customer…

You need to have a think about customer service. I’ve accidentally bought a game that was in my basket while buying another game I had no idea it was in my basket I am new to ps5 after being with Xbox many years ago
I have not played the game yet you won’t refund me for this mistake. The only reason call of duty was in my basket is because I was trying to find warzone before . I’m not having this I advise you get someone to contact me or I will take this matter further ( SPARTACUS)
