I had been buying games true Steam for 10 years. Never ran into blockers where I would need the sellers (Steam's) support. Until a week ago. I ran into a large scale scam, fraud, called Ashes of Creat... See more

Scammed out of $20 and the dlc it was for.........
Purchased one time offer pack for division 2 never got anything in game. Ubisoft support said I already activated once in 2022 before the game came to steam and said I would need to request a refund from steam. Refund was denied due to play time. Thanks for stealing $20 from me and giving me nothing.
always have a good experience here
always have a good experience here! Made my childhood complete
Purchase was not delivered but it was charged on my bank account
I bought a steam deck and it was going to be delivered a few days later. I did not receive it but GLS marked it as delivered and signed by someone who I have no idea who it is. They also did not leave a note in my mailbox for me to go get the package with this person. I contacted GLS and they said at this point the package was lost and I should contact the sender (Steam). I contacted Steam and at first they said they would open an investigation and said they would send me another one, since I didn't get the original package. One day later another representative responded my ticket saying that since the package left their warehouse and it was marked as delivered, they would not send another one nor would they refund me and closed the ticket so I wouldn't be able to contact them again. Basically, they said it's my problem I didn't receive the product. Now GLS says for me to contact them and they say it's not their problem and I'm down 466 euros.
It's beyond absurd that this happens and I'm quite shocked at how they handled the situation. I'm going to start a case at the consumers right organ in the Netherlands but so far I'm fairly disappointed in Steam and GLS.
Awful service and support both of them.
Update:
After a lot of open tickets, long time to respond and showing evidence I did not receive the product, they agreed to send me another one and advised me to pick it up at a parcel point.
Incomplete games, malicious mods
A common issue steam has is with devs putting incomplete versions of games on steam and requiring users to go to the dev website for a patch, that is annoying enough, but the current crop of mods is banning anyone who includes the relevant link in a review or even who merely upvotes it or awards it as useful. I used to buy a lot of games on Steam... I'm saving a lot of money right now that I won't anymore.
I have been trying to redeem my $20…
I have been trying to redeem my $20 dollars Steam card and they keep on telling me that is a bad card

Horrible creatures are working there
Horrible creatures are working there . i wish i could call them humans but based on my experience dealing with them when my account got hacked and most of my stuff got sold off .
HORRIBLE BUNCH OF ENTITLED C*NTS !
You have to cuss and insult them just to get their attention in the first place .
You have to explain to them how they could resolve the issue but they still prefer not to help you .
You have to come to Trustpilot.com to make sure that the hole world knows how filthy their attitude are when it comes to responsibility for their own bullshiet platform .
if a fukcing restaurant gets shut down for receiving a 2* rating , why the fukc Steam is not sued by anyone when their own filthy rating is below 2* .
To put a cap on it ... Steam just implemented Chat GPT in their support page so they could trick you into thinking that they have the "best" employees of the year, working so hard to "help".
FUkc YOU STEAM AND FUkc THAT FAT PIECE OF SHIET GAYBEN !
Dont blame the middleman
There is not much to say. Steam is only middle man with very clear refund policy. I have no idea how they can be given less than 4 stars by any user. The rule is simple, if you are unhappy with the game you have 2 hours of game play to refund it (used to be 3 hours). They don't ask any questions, its super simple.
You want to be offline, this is also possible via the Steam settings.
The only downside of steam is the configuration, which over the years gained a number of layers that makes it complicated for new users. Nevertheless 4 out of 5. 1 star less for shorter refund time (this doesn't work with some of the new games that take a long time to setup initial launch eg. The Last of Us part I, Microsoft Flight Simulator)
I will never buy from Steam ever again
I recently bought a game from Steam, which it is poorly in graphic quality. The videos the developer used to advertise the game on the page are not what the actual game looks like. The game is: Space Engine. I have a decent machine which can run any game.
OS : Windows 11 Pro
SSD: 2 TB
RAM: 64 GB
CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900K (24 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti
DirectX: DirectX 12
So, my computer is not the issue.
I tried to get help from the Steam page, but the Steam page pointed me to the developers' website for tech support.
I contacted the developers of the game explaining the issue. A day later, they responded. I was asked to send a log file and screenshots of the issue. I did send them the files they requested. But I never heard from them no more.
Now, the issue is not just the game, but worst of all, the game developer's tech support. I assume that after hearing Steam's response, they didn't care about my problem anymore and decided not to take the time to contact me again.
Not satisfied with the results, I requested a refund on the Steam website. Few hours later, Steam cancelled my ticket request and no refund was giving.
I never used the game for 4 hours as Steam claimed. I barely managed to open the game about 3 times, but I did not use it 4 hours. And that's because I was testing the game during those times to see if there was any configuration or something I could do to make the game any better. That's what Steam or the developers should have taken in consideration, but they didn't.
I know it's a little money, but because of how miserable Steam is, I'm going to stay away from buying from this platform from now on. Advice, stay away from Steam. Thank you Steam.
Pretty darn happy with my Steam experience.
I have nearly 200 steam store games. I use their environment for VR, and although it's not perfect, it's very usable, and works most of the time quite well. I've had only a couple instances where I went outside their guidelines for returns, and they had to deny me. I had to bite my tongue and say ok. But 9/10 times they have refunded my purchase, no matter what the reason (mostly didn't like the game, or it just didn't look as good as hoped) and the funds are back usable to me the next day or 2. I wish they would ban the games that force an additional loader as it messes with the integrity of the game, and really takes the value of having a singular platform to go to to launch your games. I've bought games from other sellers, and got stuck with a loader that just complicates my world especially when I want to run the game on my SteamDeck. So kudos to Steam, keep taking care of this community, you're learning and doing a good job. Take our critiques and grow, create the best gaming community out there.
Absolutely dreadful
