Terrible company

Terrible company, they don't give a damn about buyer's or seller's only their profit. Told me to return faulty item for refund then two hours later told me I couldn't claim a refund. Hapless and dishonourable. I'm leaving eBay and going to Amazon.

Customer support do not solve issues…

Customer support do not solve issues for months, then say case has been closed for too long and hung up in my face.

It seems different representatives have different solutions/levels of training. It's incredibly frustrating to describe the same issue to different people and each having different outcomes for you. It's even more frustrating to get told you were going to get refunded within 10 days, then 6 weeks later get hung up upon with no solution after wasting 2 more hours to explain the issue.

Will never sell anything again on Ebay, what a horrible way to treat customers

worst company & customer service ever!!!!

Everybody over the past 12 months has had a horrible time. Losing job's, having no money to live..Its been awful.
We decided to open an Ebay account to start selling unwanted items around the home.
Now, we were aware that new accounts hold money back for the customers protection. We understand that, but after 2 months of selling & not one bad feedback, these people are still holding back money from EVERY SALE.
They tell you something different every time you call.
this is what we've been told thus far.........
Once item is posted, upload tracking info, which we do, every time.
Then they say, well ok, once delivery is confirmed from the courier we'll release your money. NO, you can see on my account that's its been delivered. Oh ok, well we need the customer to leave feedback before we can release funds. Ok, So we politely message customers & just ask when they receive items, can you please leave feedback because Ebay wont release our money until then. Most of the customers do this without a problem, but the less active customers, who aren't on Ebay all the time & just make a one off purchase, they're not reading our messages. So then what do you do, Ebay's response Is, well, if no response from the customer is received then we'll release money after 7 days from delivery. Well, its been 7 days.
Ebay's response, well, Once you've sold over £160.00 of goods without bad feedback, we'll let your money clear instantly. we've sold nearly £600 worth of items over a 2 month period, totally to 32 individual items.
Ebays response, well you just need to wait 90 days. all new customers have restrictions on their account for the first 90 days.
90 DAYS.......have you ever heard anything so ridiculous in all your life.
My wife Is currently Ill, she should have had an operation back in march last year, I cant work because of the pandemic so we're on universal credit. We currently have around £180.00 on hold with ebay. We do everything they ask & still nothing.
The problem is as well, your postage costs are included in the sale, like we experienced the other day, we had a few things to post, total cost £45.00. Which we had to pay from our own money that we simply cant afford. We have items that people have paid for but we simply cant afford to post them out because Ebay keeps holding money from every sale.

My wife called this morning to request some money to be released as items were posted well over a week ago but some customers don't leave feedback straight away. My wife explained to these people that we're experiencing hardship, we have no money...the call got so distressing my wife broke down in tears. You get NO sympathy from these people whatsoever.
We have now had to request a food parcel from our local charity which Is an absolute disgrace.

We BOTH have to say, that either of us have NEVER dealt with a company with such poor customer service.....EVER. The people you talk to don't even reply half the time, the line just goes quiet. My wife had to ask If somebody was still there & did they fall asleep. One person from Ebay just replied with 'oh well, nothing we can do you'll just have to wait'
Oh well. We've just told you we're in a dire situation & we need our money releasing & your response is 'oh well'
Disgusting company, Should not be allowed to trade or deal with the public. Trust pilot should introduce a recorded review platform so you can actually record your conversations & post them up here, so you can properly show a company for what it is.

We will now be closing our account & pulling all remaining items off.

I honestly do not know how a company can still operate with all these bad reviews, what's the point of leaving reviews if nothing is done about it.
This company has no morals, they will not help you. The staff do not care at all, they are rude, unsympathetic & a total disgrace.
BAD BAD BAD is all I can say.
There should be an option for no stars, i didn't even want to put one star. That one star means nothing, If anything, Its there because i like the colours on their logo & that's where it ends.

They should be forced to close down!!!

After approx 10 years on eBay I cancelled my account . Firstly because I purchased a puppy pen that isn’t safe . My pups tail got trapped between the tray and the side and now had to sell the pup for £2000 cheaper than the other pup .
Secondly I purchased a glass kettle that changes colour . Which stopped working after only 2 weeks . eBay were unhelpful to me as the customer when the seller completely ignored my return and messages

5th April 2021. 71 year old Retiree and COVID survivor terminated by EBay without any rational explanation

5th April 2021.
My Ebay account is suspended via email notification?

Absolutely No specific reason given.... nothing, apart from the words...... “buyer abuse”....

Ha!...folks I am a pacifist. Spiders etc are comfortable living in my house!

I have absolutely NO idea what I might have done wrong.

So I contacted live chat on eBay customer care. Very polite at the start...Then the agent confirmed my account suspension and declined to offer ANY actual reason why my account ( after 18 years and with a 100% rating) had been suspended, other than a new statement
“Unusual activity on my account”

Me: Ok, please tell me more... what sort of unusual a activity? If I no what it is I might be able to stop it or we can sort it together?

Agent: “I am sorry but based on the risk involved in your eBay account, we have determined that it is in our mutual best interest to part ways”

Me: 🤔 What risk is that... please tell me more?

Agent: “Due to the risk presented to the eBay community by your account, we have determined it is in eBay's best interest to deny your appeal. This means that we will not be reinstating your account”

????

Me: Can I speak with a human being please?

Agent: .....Leaves the chat room.
............................

To Conclude...

I’m a 71 year old Retiree who has had COVID 19 (Tested positive in January) and gone through nearly 2 months of total hell and misery as a result....not forgetting months of Isolation!!

And now .....suddenly...I’ve now been tried by eBay’s kangaroo court, without being given the chance to know why... and or defend myself.... and terminated!

18 years service and with a Dashboard that states 100% rating..(I took a screen capture today) but do I not qualify for any explanation?...

I always thought that in this country that I love, you are still innocent until proven guilty?

I am feel hurt and genuinely upset.....but I refuse to be nasty and abusive as many are on here ... I simply appeal to any one at eBay uk that may read this, and can understand the utter injustice of my experience, to reply and tell me WHY I deserve to be treated this way.

☹️

There systems are terrible and how they run and handle things. Shame as there are Some good items and sellers on there (apart from the Chinese ones), I hope another company will be better and take over it one day.

To put this into context I have used…Get what you pay for - and ebay is cheap (code for rubbish customer service)

To put this into context I have used Ebay for about 20 years, and mostly it has been very good. However, you only find out how good a company's customer service is when things have gone wrong and my recent experiences show ebay for what it is - a hiding place for thieves, liars and con merchants, all sheltered and encouraged by ebay.
I bought an Amazon Echo for £40, having checked it definitely wasn't an Echo Dot which goes for half the price. The header said Echo, the images were of an Echo and the idiot seller even listed all of the specs which I checked against Amazon's description of an Echo. It all looked legit, even though the seller had zero feedback, and I checked everything I could. Of course it arrived late, and when it did I didn't even need to open the package to know it was an Echo Dot, and not the Echo as advertised.
I contacted the seller immediately, who ignored me for about 24 hours, asking for a returns postage label which provided for the fraudulent item to be collected from home - (a) I cannot get to a Post Office during working hours, and (b) why the heck should I have to when this was all down to a cheating, lying seller. He of course eventually sent a postage label but was not prepared to pay the extra 40p for home collection. After some to and fro I gave up and contacted the ebay concierge team which regularly mails me to say how they are always there for me! Despite me advising them that the seller is still selling the fraudulently described items ebay has done nothing to deter him (waoffi49 is the one to avoid but probably has other accounts too). Despite me doing everything I can to persuade the cheating seller to do the decent thing ebay refuses to intervene, not even to encourage him. As far as they are concerned he has provided a means of returning and it's just tough that I cannot get to a Post Office. If anyone wonders who ebay represents then consider who pays them - the sellers. Does ebay show any interest in removing fraudulent items? Not any indication that they do given the rubbish I have had delivered over the years. But here they have someone who has just opened a new account and they choose to ignore (code for condone) his false advertising. The best they are able to offer is to give me more time to return the junk - and of course all that really means more time for their pet conman to hold on to my money.
In life you get what you pay for and ebay is cheap - after 20 years I am closing my account and will use Amazon instead, whose customer service is light years away from ebay's.

One of the best platforms to sell your unwanted stuff. Their website is a mixed up mess which needs to be sorted out which is why they are only 4 stars. The community on there is great and you meet really nice people too. I recommend this platform. Wish they had a Windows 10 App.
