Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 307 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, frequently describing it as terrible, non-existent, and unhelpful. People often found it difficult to reach a live representative, experienced rude interactions, and felt that agents lacked knowledge or were unwilling to assist with issues. Reviewers also reported numerous problems with payment and service, including unexpected disconnections, issues with auto-payments not working, and incorrect billing. Many felt that their payments were not recorded properly, leading to service interruptions, and some even mentioned being charged for services they no longer needed or for plans that were changed without their permission. However, some customers also noted that the service itself worked fine and provided good reception in various locations. A few other people also felt that the service plans were affordable and, in some cases, found specific customer service agents to be very helpful, patient, and effective in resolving their issues.

Another worthless company....

Another worthless company..... owned by verizon (tracfone) run on verizon towers,,, NO ROAMING ALLOWED.....
$45 10GB HOTSPOT (silver unlimited)
international texting calling to canada & mexico

55$ gold plan (4x faster then 5g)
65$ platium unlimited (4x faster then 5g)

you can go to straight talk to view the details of the rest of the plans....

what is this trash 4x faster then 5g? they are already more lousy since they run on verizon..
VERIZON owns them, & testing 5g on all 3 networks,
5g is 100% lousy 4G IS faster then 5g....
Always in a hurry to push something out but without fully testing it.

STRAIGHT TALK (NO INTERNATIONAL ROAMING ALLOWE) no wonder i would not use this company

USMOBILE uses all 3 networks & there plans are way cheaper then rest of tracfone put together.
$270 for the hole year plus international roaming

STRAIGHT talk charges way more then that & still cant call outside of north america.
CANADA & MEXICO.
usmobile allows international roaming + calling around most of the world

all OF TRACFONE brands need MAJOR IMPROVEMENT, but yet they didnt improve hardly any

have to buy a 10$ global call on top of the minium plan they have just to call around the world..... USMOBILE/LYCAMOBILE some of the other MVNO are way better then tracfone

verizon itself needs alot of improvement & STILL HAS not do anything in the past 30 years. ALL VERIZON knows what to do is BLAB BLAB of how great they are... while they are still blab blab, tmobile/att DONT blab blab alot THEY JUST put the towers up & make customers happy like me

VERIZON /TRACFONE 5G ultra/ 4x faster then 5g
ITS VERY LOUSY ADVERTISING, if they cant even make 5g 4 times faster then 4g

4G wins my heart... NOT VERIZON & THERE LOUSY 5G ULTRA....

WILL tracone/ VERIZON ever lease any space on the towers? I GUESS NOT.......

TerribleTerrible!

I want to say beginning in in April 2025 that my My experience with straight talk it started very unpleasant! I can't recall how long I was using it prior but it all started when I actually bought a phone from straight talk prior to this. I was using it unlocked. Samsung Galaxy s23. But I bought the Moto razr flip phone. So instead of you know using the SIM card that came with the phone just figured I could pop my original SIM card into the new phone. Well, long story short, let's just say that didn't work. My SIM card deactivated and when I got home from work I was on the phone with customer service for over 3 hours after being transferred to multiple different apartments because they simply did not figure out how to transfer my original existing number over to my new SIM card!! In the end I had I had to get a new number!! In every single operator end in the so-called departments did not know what the heck they were doing! Can never log in on that app! I barely can log in the browser into the website! They use two different automated systems on their customer service!! Let's just say if you even attempt to try to Port your number over to another carrier. They make it damn near impossible and that is the truth! And when you do try to get the operator to start that process. They literally seem like they will interrogate you by asking all these questions! And after all that they need any and they will just tell you that it's not possible to port it! And last but not least recently the reason I decided to leave trade talk for boost Mobile and I'm it's because of the last couple weeks all of a sudden coverage just dropped!!!!! I've had great coverage in yeast in my area forever going from four or five bars at one point to now in my home areas in one to two. Maybe if I'm lucky and then sometimes I'll have four or five large grilling emergency calls only so it's just ridiculous. Straight talk is just a terrible service and I would not recommend it for anybody!

What a shame!

What a shame. Horrible customer service. I had them for 14 15 years. Paid them on autopay every month. When I changed over to a different company they would not refund the $37 that I paid them the day before. Took money for a service I no longer have or need. Absolutely refuse to refund my automatic payment even prorated. That's how they treat their Long time customers. Stay away fraudulent

Understanding through experience

I was with straight talk once before, and they weren't too bad. I ventured out to other companies finding Walmart family mobile being the best until Verizon bought them out. I never saw something go downhill so fast. Let's face it, we are a generation of people who expect perfection from entitled people who see a job as a place where you pick up your paycheck and do absolutely nothing more. So we have to choose the company by the imperfections we can tolerate. We have to be patient as customer service is mostly computerized and a computer is only as smart as the person who programs it. Co-operation works better than anger.

Straight Talk no personal customer…

Straight Talk no personal customer service and has been missing up on my phone payments and reception the past few months. SO, I found out S.T. did not record my payment when my data shut off and I had to reactivate even though my phone was showing paid a month ahead. I WILL be buying another product from another provider tomorrow.

This company has zero living people…

This company has zero living people working for it. I hate this company. Anytime you have an issue, just forget it. You’re given a few options to choose from and none of them will be what you want. You have the choice of going in circles with bots for hours or you can give it up. Or choice three—-switch carriers. That’s my plan.

STRAIGHT TALK LIED ABOUT DEVICE BEING LOCKED

My mom has been using Straight Talk for five years. At first she didn’t have any issues and had a great experience…..that was until last November. I had sold her my old IPhone 8 plus and she wanted to switch her service to the IPhone 8 plus because her phone wasn’t not working anymore. Now at first, it wasn’t working because the device was still locked by Cricket. (This was my mistake btw) so I got the phone and immediately contacted Cricket. The phone was unlocked immediately and ready for use. Now we go back to Straight Talk. Straight Talk STILL gives her the runaround and was trying to tell her that the device was locked. Then, she had finally got her service for the month of December. Fast forward to January (this year). On January 7th, she paid $47.16. It worked for ONE day. And she could call out but nobody could call her. THEN…today, her service was cut off completely even though she paid her bill. She has been on the phone two hours both today and yesterday. They took her money and left her with no service. On top of that, they tried to tell her that the reason why she had service for December is because it was temporary because the device was “showing still locked on their end”. Hear my words…no carrier would EVER allow you to use a service on a device that is locked by another company. That is a blatant lie that they told her. I checked myself to make sure that the phone wasn’t locked. And it is not! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT go to Straight Talk.

HORRIBLE

I had an absolutely horrible experience with Straight Talk customer service.
I was trying to activate a new phone and spent 35 minutes on the phone with an agent I could barely understand. The representative’s speech was largely unintelligible, which made an already frustrating situation significantly worse. After all that time, the call was disconnected with no callback and no resolution.
I then spent another 15 minutes struggling through the automated system, which was somehow even more stressful than the customer service itself. The system asks you to verify your identity, provide IMEI numbers, receive verification codes, and confirm it is your phone number. Once you finally reach a human, they ask you the exact same questions all over again. It is redundant, inefficient, and infuriating.
The second agent then tried to set me up with an account, something I can easily do online and specifically did not want to do over the phone. I was not comfortable giving security questions and personal information to someone I could barely understand, especially when that information could be used to take over my phone number. I have been using Straight Talk for far longer than I should have, and I have never been asked to do this before.
What followed was a miserable back and forth where I repeatedly explained that I did not want to proceed that way, and the agent continued pushing it anyway.
Yes, there was eventually a light at the end of the tunnel, but it came an hour and a half later. No customer should have to waste that much time just to activate a phone.
This company’s customer service is unbelievably bad.
Next phone, I am out.

When I first switched to straight talk…

When I first switched to straight talk it was pretty good service I got the service because I like to go fishing and the lakes where I live in Northern Arizona is far from city limits and there service still worked. What made it worst was my bill due date started on the 20th of every month then my due date became earlier over the last two years where my last billing cycle was due on the 14th of the month I didn't renew my service after that I switched to t mobile to each his own but that is a horrible service and offer no real discounts after maybe two years you can get a free phone with bs point system they have better services out there

Horrible Customer Service

Customer service hangs up on me when they can't figure out the problem. They also have difficulty trying to explain things to me in English. Someone also authorized a refund of a service i requested so I could not use the service, without my permission. This company has the worst customer service and I will be switching cellular companies due to this.

I used ST for years

I used ST for years. But I switched to Boost Mobile a couple of weeks ago. My coverage started to randomly drop over the last year. The final straw was trying to use the rewards to refill data twice and it not doing anything. This used to never be an issue when I just needed a couple of extra gigs until the next top-up. When I switched to Boost my phone started receiving update after update...I had no idea ST was keeping so many updates from me...I have a Galaxy S24 Ultra, so it's not like it was crusty dusty. So now, with Boost, my phone is up-to-date, I have more data for a better price and coverage that doesn't randomly drop. Try Boost if ST isn't working for you anymore

Horrible experience 4 year customer

I wanna add to the plethora of bad experiences with straight talk, I was a customer for 4 years. I never looked around for other options because I never really thought about it, until someone was like damn you’re paying a lot for that. I switched immediately when I found that there are multiple other companies offering the exact same service, unlimited everything, with hotspot data for 19-25 dollars a month depending if you get the promo deal or not, but regardless that beats the snot out of straight talks 45$ a month for the same thing. Big facepalm moment when I switched, I’ve been with visible through Verizon now for a month, very happy I finally switched. On to the next complaint, when I tried to switch to visible straight talk did not abide by the contract that says when you buy a phone and put it on their service they will unlock the carrier lock in a year, I was a customer for 4 years, and owned my phone that I bought for over a year, and I had to wait for over a week for them to unlock the carrier lock. They canceled my service that was still good for another two weeks because I tried to transfer my number and refused to reconnect my phone while I waited for them to do the unlock process. I had to call customer service 5 or 6 times and wait on hold for HOURS while they gave vague answers and couldn’t give a timeline at all for when my phone would be unlocked. After 9 days my phone was unlocked and I was able to activate my service with my new provider. Ditch this company once and for all I wanna watch them crash.

i have had straight talk for some time

i have had straight talk for some time, and being aware their already trash, i let a lot slide, but now ive had to purchase a new phone (the exact same model with the exact same plan) and they have failed to produce the internet speed i specifically bought the maximum priced plan to receive. i have no home internet and use the unlimited, 5mb/s hotspot for both work and leisure (such as streaming roku channel) and both have failed regularly. i barely receive 3mb/s at the best of moments and regularly get less than 1mb/s. i let the customer service issues go because their cheap, but now this company is refusing to produce the product your paying for. upon attempting to contact customer support they requested information that was on the phone, which i couldnt retrieve, because interacting with my phone in almost anyway would result in a failure of service, which would cut out my hotspot and result in a failed chat and quite a while of me fighting to get it back. i was told it was for diagnostic purposes. and as someone with at least a basic IT knowledge, I'm aware that the information was 100% in their system, attached to other information concerning my account

Straight Talk is a SCAM

I bought the BLU Blaze 5G hotspot device through Straight Talk and not even 24 hours later my hotspot was gone/used up. I only had 1 single device connected to it for a small amount of time. When I called straight talk and tried to get information about why my service/hotspot was gone in less than 24 hours, they couldn't tell me anything and when I refused to pay to refill it already I was hung up on twice!!! TWICE!! The third time I called I asked where to return it and since I bought it from the straight talk website, I was told an address in TN and that I had to pay for return shipping and a restocking fee, I was like oh wow. So while talking to this guy who could barely speak English I looked at the box it was shipped in and there was a label on the side that said return with a totally different name and a totally different address to return it to. So I asked him if this was a return label and he said yes. I was like well it has a different address then you gave and he said well you can shit it there too. I think he was trying to screw up my return. I will NEVER go through Straight Talk again. It would've cost me more than going through a normal company. At $25 a day, since it lasted less than 24 hours and I only had 1 device hooked up to it, that would have cost me $750 + taxes for a whole month of service. I am so good on that. Yeah I would save more money by signing up for the most expensive internet service out there. Oh and I also have to pay a $9.99 return fee and a $9.99 restocking fee, so out of the $49.99 I paid for this junk, I am not even getting all of my money back now. Plus I am out the service card I paid for too. I say DO NOT USE STRAIGHT TALK. IT IS A SCAM COMPANY. Tomorrow I am going to T-Mobile, where I should have went in the first place. STRAIGHT TALK IS A SCAM.

Do not use straight talk!!

Do not use straight talk!!! They have terrible signal and over priced plans that false advertise. I paid 65 dollars for unlimited Hotspot ive used it for 3 days and now it doesn't connect or even register that the plan exists. I was told I cant get a refund after wasting almost two hours on the phone with two different representatives. The cheap plans run out in no time so I figured id go for the more expensive plan just to get screwed over.

Straight Talk Is A Joke

Straight Talk Is A Joke! I have been without phone service for 4days now. I’ve talked to several different agents of which none were able to resolve any of my phone issues. I was hung up on, promised to receive a call back that I never got. And even promised another phone, and when I reached back out to make sure they have the correct address for shipping I was told they will not send me another phone by another agent. And I’m talking calls that have lasted over 3 hours and not resolving my issue. My phone has been in sos mode and nobody can figure it out. I was asked to go purchase another sims which I did, even had to travel to another city to get it because they were sold out here where I live. And even after that still no service can’t make calls or receive calls, no text no data nothing at all. I’m so disappointed and really want legal help regarding this issue.
