Hidden extra month
First of all, I am a Computer Science student so I don't have need of extensive support. I have already rented many servers from many different hosting companies.
Now on Strato: excellent uptime, good performance, kind of cheap enough. However, they are so misleading. I took a monthly contract that I cancelled this month. However, they want me to pay for next month as well! They have some vague reference to paying a month in advance, which they "translate" to "you have to pay for an extra month after you cancel well in advance".
What a crooked way to make money, misleading your customers like this. If you rent a server here, make sure you use some prepaid way of paying and don't fill in your real address or real name in case they want to make you pay extra for some of their mafia practices. I thought we were done with difficult to cancel subscriptions...

Hah! "This is also described in our policies." Yes, you indeed but it somewhere very far away in the terms and conditions. I can't even easily find these terms. Clearly you hope that people don't read them completely and you make extra money by hiding the months notice rule. You are also the only provider I know that does this. I care very little about the "intentions" of whoever made this up. Intended or not, it is very clearly a crooked way (or however you want to call it) to make money. If you really want to help, just cancel my contract right now and make it more clear that there is a 1-month notice requirement for cancellation on your website and not in the small letters in the terms&conditions. This 1 month policy is nowhere near the quality of honesty, competitive pricing and uptime.

Misinformation
First they lure you with a free SSL certificate, then they deny the request but can't tell you why and force you to upgrade to a very expencive subscription. When you ask them why you have to do this, they don't reply.

The customer service girl didn't show…
The customer service girl didn't show any respect to me, she is not friendly at all. I was asking about an issue to reactivate hosting and domain for my clien. I have been told To reactivate the domain or hosting, it will come additional costs and that is not fair. I have different domains for my clients by different hosting companies and when I renew or reactivate a domain, will not come additional costs. Idon't like this kind of treatment. I have recommended my clients to get domains and hosting from there but now is the end. No recommendations

I suddenly receive a lot of bounced e-mails, whilst I never sent such e-mails. I have called customer support and they told my I have been put on a blacklist because of spam that was sent from my account.
