The electricity to my house went out so I called Strømlinet and was informed that there was a general outrage in the area. Later that day, I got power back to a few lights and appliances but not to the majority of the house. So I called Strømlinet again and was told that the problem had to be with my house because “you either have electricity or you don’t” if the issue is with the supply and the fact that some lights and appliances were on meant that the power supply to the house must be working. On that basis, my husband tried changing various fuses. When that didn’t fix the problem and as the house was becoming very cold without the heating working, I called out an emergency electrician. The electrician checked the fuse box and said that there were 3 lines of power into the house and only 1 line was working, ie the problem was with the power supply not the electrical circuits in my house. I called Strømlinet back to complain that I had just incurred the cost of an emergency electrician (I have a 10 week old baby and it was -2 and I had no heating) and the person I spoke to that time just kept saying that the issue was with the electricity wholesaler and eventually told me to send my complaint by email. My contract is with Strømlinet, not the electricity wholesaler and it was Strømlinet’s employee who categorically told me the issue was not with the power supply but with my house, which caused me to incur the high cost of an emergency electrician. Really terrible customer service all round.
