A routine upgrade cause the free tier studio 3t version, which has all my connectionstring saved to now exit unless I purchase a subscription.

Installing the new free community edition still does not give me access to my connection strings. This feels like extortion.

I’ve been a Studio 3T user for many years on the Basic plan at $299/year, which perfectly suited my needs: Mongo admin tasks, quick document edits, and occasional collection copying. Now I’m being forced to upgrade to the Professional tier at $499/year, without any new features relevant to casual or moderate users.

There are plenty of alternatives for my use case, DbGate, for example, offers similar functionality completely free. Still, I stuck with Studio 3T for convenience, familiarity, and because some internal SOPs were already built around it. But a 67% price increase with no added value is simply unjustifiable.

So I’m done. I won’t pay for extras I don’t need, and Studio 3T has lost me as a customer.

Most of their customer reviews are sponsored and not genuine! Also, MongoDB Compass does everything that 3T can do, and tbh you’ll rarely ever make use of those premium features. It was a hard pass for me and my team! Ps: don’t give them your contact details (such as phone number or similar) because you will get spammed!!! Their security is also questionable (insider source)

Software is marketed heavily as FREE. After downloading you'll discover it can only be accessed by creating an online account, you're immediately shoved into the PRO option and have to dig through the menu to manually put yourself back to the Free license tier.

Probably great software, spoiled by needlessly aggressive marketing and data grabbing.

They give to you a month of ultimate version. But it is ok.
The most awful app that i have ever used.
Many bugs in editor. When you save your scripts you can not find them after your trial was out of, they just dissapeared.
After trial was ended i felt big amount of lags. I thought they did it specially.

Studio 3T is a great tool for beginners and advanced MongoDB users. I have been using it for the past year and half, and it is a great tool for everyone. With the more advanced option like compare and sync, it is easy to move data from Dev and Prod Stage environments to Production, as you can move any data you want, without overwriting the important data. IntelliShell scripts support JavaScript queries and helps with debugs, so it is the best tool

The UX design is very good, however I have the problem with long queries (in my case about 500 lines of code), the auto completion and parentheses matching won't work.
Saving result to csv should be able to save array inside the csv [...]

Studio 3T has excellent support for teachers!
They are quick and respectful and solve our issues.

Great and complex tool. I'm using it as a data scientist for three years and everyone in my team is slowly migrating to Studio3T too.

Also a great tech support, responds quickly and is helpful.

I love this tool, it's been extremely useful in my research work. The free educational license is a tremendous help for me and the support team is always very prompt, polite and responsive. I am truly grateful to them.
