Studio Charbel 

I visited this company in 2024. I was super excited for my first ever photoshoot but it was all a scam. They convinced me to pay 2000 for a website and promises of being put into contact with top agencies. The main lady selling us the product was very convincing but I had a feeling after I had paid that I had been very naive. The thing that makes me most annoyed is how happy me and my mum were that this lady was so lovely and how much we were looking forward to a carer in modelling that I was promised. I got absolutely nothing from my 2000 and I was never able to get in contact with them after I left the studio. I think about the amount of young people and people with very little money who spent their savings on this just to discover it was all a scam, how can people do this to other people?

I had a terrible experience with this so-called modeling studio. What seemed like a professional and legitimate setup turned out to be a scam. I was coerced into spending £1,600 on finance, persuaded with grand promises that were never kept. They sold me dreams of a modeling career, claiming it was essential to pay for packages that included photoshoots, a portfolio, and a website.

They assured me that within weeks, I would receive everything I paid for, but to this day, I have not received what was promised. They avoid my calls and emails, leaving me stuck paying monthly for a loan I had to take out for this scam.

Warning to others: Do not be fooled! Genuine modeling agencies will NEVER ask for money upfront. If you are considering this place, please do thorough research and avoid falling into the same trap.

Also, I can’t help but presume that the glowing 5-star reviews are only there because people were told to leave them in exchange for some kind of discount or benefit. Don’t be misled by their fake image of professionalism. Save yourself the stress and financial burden.

I went for a photo shoot in January 2024. I was persuaded to go for the full package because it included 20 pictures, a website will be created for me and portfolio. I paid £1,500 for the package through finance. I did not want it but the manager convinced me that it is the best thing to do since I was wanting to go into modelling. Since she gave me the 20 pictures in January with the promise that within 2 - 6 weeks the website and the portfolio that comes with the package of £1,500 will be ready, nothing has been done. I will call them regularly for an update all I get was we are working on it and now when I call no response. I have even emailed them still no response.

Please be careful when you go there for a photo shoot. Do agree to any lies they tell you because the business is not operating on honesty. I will not received what promised but I have paid them fully and every month I have to pay the loan I borrowed to pay them.

My daughter booked a session with Studio Charbel for a professional photoshoot. I accompanied her as we thought it would be a fun experience for us both.

It was lovely and uplifting. The make up artist, the photographer, the ambience were great, and we were very happy with how the photos captured my daughter's personality and appearance in a way that was authentic as well as flattering.

The reason I am not giving a five star review is because of what happened later. We had a bubbly and very genuine sounding sales person who said some very encouraging things about my daughter's prospects. What was meant to just be a photoshoot with some great photos turned into an opportunity for my daughter to have her own website, get contacts with agencies and perhaps even a role in films and TV! My daughter was keen to try this out over her gap year but did not at all expect me to pay any more than what we'd previously agreed. I admit, I got carried away, so proud I was of how she'd presented herself in the photos, and with a leap of faith signed up for the premium package that cost over £1,600.

Sadly, my trust was misplaced. Aside from the photos and what was included in the basic package, they never delivered on any of the other stuff. Despite emails and phone calls, they have still not delivered a website or followed up on the things they had contracted to do. Neither have they responded to my request for a refund of the amount that I paid extra.

I have pondered taking more formal action such as reporting them to trading standards or to the small claims court. But the thought of the time and energy I would need to expend on such an endeavour seems not worth it. Yes, it is a lot of money, and my daughter could well have used that money for more important things. Doing nothing can seem like allowing them to "get away" with what is tantamount to a breach of contract and unprofessional conduct.

However, peace of mind is more important to me. I trust the money went where it was meant to go. I have done what I can and now it is time to let go.

I am writing this review so others are forewarned about going for a package that promises delivery of a service at some point in the future (i.e. not on the day you are there).

There were many good things about the service. And if that's all you want, go for it! I hope you have as lovely an experience as my daughter did on the day.

Everything seemed transparent! I didn’t have to sign papers around twelve times, like with another introduction agency! Consultant was engaging, friendly & professional. It was a much more enjoyable experience than I expected.
